Life Poetry

About this ebook
I have experienced all of these emotions, from pain to joy. These poems run the gamut from simple observations to recollections of experiences that affected my life profoundly. I have learned, suffered, and grown from these experiences and have been healed in the process. This journey has taught me that life is to be experienced in all its ups and downs. My hope is that whoever reads these poems will be changed in some way. Thank you, and may God bless the readers of this book.

Life Poetry - C. M. Krishack
LIFE
Like a seed, we are planted into Mother Earth.
Nurtured with love, we become a source of energy.
As we grow, our head begins to peek,
following the light to our destiny.
Our roots thicken and stand firm in the soil of our foundation.
Our leaves spread, as we begin to grow into ourselves.
As we reach the fullness of our growth,
we begin to see the dysfunctions of our surroundings,
and our leaves wither with fear and uncertainty.
But, through it all, we continue to stand in the firmness of our foundation,
And follow the light of the sun,
To our divine destiny.
BEAUTIFUL
Her kinky brown hair,
perfectly coiled.
Her milky brown skin,
so deep, so radiant.
Her lips are full
with a slight curl on either side.
Her eyes are the deepest of brown,
and endless like the sea.
She has a swag about her,
a confidence you just don’t see often.
As she walks across the room,
all eyes are on her.
Her heels, six inches,
her body bodacious,
her curves…oh, how they move!
Like a dancing light in a candlelit room,
she walks with promise.
She has a swag about her,
a confidence you just don’t see often.
As she walks across the room,
all eyes are on her.
She is so beautiful!
one would say.
She is so beautiful!
as she walks away.
But her beauty, she does not see.
For when she is alone
and feeling blue,
her beauty becomes nonexistence.
For all she sees in the mirror
is a face she wishes
was beautiful.
A BETTER TOMORROW
Drifting on a sea of despondency
Drowning in the depths of tears
Plunging into a trench of hopelessness
Crashing to the bottom of a bottle
Waking to a new
