This book is about the emotions of the soul. I have encapsulated this in the title, Temperatures of the Soul, because our emotions go through varying temperatures, from despondency to awe at change and creation. I love nature and the beauty of life in its varying forms and how that affects our feelings.

My hearts desire is that this book will inspire, hold the hand of someone in the struggles they may face, and ignite an appreciation for the many facets of emotions life produces. The poems address anguish, heartache, love, trust, hope, and personal development.

This book contains biblical scriptures to encourage you. In most instances, they relate to the previous poem to show how God interweaves with our daily lives and situations.

If:

if only this,

if only that.

If is a canyon between two mountains

and the valley between

me and my dreams.

Our will,

the bridge that spans all depths.

Hope is the arms,

belief the hands,

faith the fingers

that grab hold of

that which we cannot see,

bringing it into reality,

instead of just wishing into the air,

aimlessly.

The Power of Choice

Trust:

Is it bringing us closer?

Peace:

Are we feeling contentment?

Hope:

Are we seeing our vision?

Expectation:

Is it leading to a goal?

Effort:

Is it producing results?

Trials:

Are we enduring them with patience?

What answers lie within these questions?

The power to choose

is like a fork in a road.

Not making a choice

will stop us dead in our tracks.
