Although anger to black men is not a new phenomenon, it is a way of life for many black men who feels stuck in a dark maze without vital instruction. Dr. Jeffery L. Walker, who has been helping black men deal with their anger, including his own for more than twenty years, offers hope and courage for those who are living under the floorboard of society. Dr. Walker extends positive suggestions that will help black men, young and old, build a positive self image that will radiate love, respect, and peace. Black men you must realize that in spite of the difficulty, you are somebody and you need to know that. Identify with your hidden anger and process it in a healthy manner.
Design and implement an anger reduction plan and use it as necessary.
Take a personal inventory and reexamine your moral fabric.

    My Personal Antidote

I want you to know that my intentions with the contents of this book is not to put down white or black people, but to raise the consciousness of how human unfairness can destroy the cohesiveness between all people. We are rightfully concerned about biological cancer, but what about the social form of cancer that has created emotional gangrene that is affecting our ability to love one another. My ultimate aim is to give you some understanding of why many black men are failing in their manhood. If anything I have written in this book affects you in a negative manner, this may be the beginning for you to make that psychological incision and look deep within your soul.

Many books have been written about anger, but not black anger. Yes, there is really a difference in how anger affects white and black people. It doesn’t matter if you are educated or uneducated, rich or poor, male or female, young or old, white or black you are not exempt from the most powerful force on earth called racism. There is absolutely no logic to racism because it is a form of mental illness; actually it is a narcissistic personality disorder that is causing a great deal of multi-cultural anger. Therefore, I strongly encourage black and white people to turn that anger into a powerful catalyst that will empower you to enable others to step outside of themselves and extend love with conviction because that is all you have that will carry you into spiritual freedom.

    Introduction

Black anger is at its greatest potential towards black women and men. One of the oldest forms of physical violence is called a tort meaning a crime against another person. Black men and women have been auguring amongst each other since the beginning of time and black men are angry at society, the question is why. Statistics reports that one out four black women in the United States will be assaulted by their intimate partner over their lifetime. I believe that the stats are even higher than recorded because many black women do not report the incident.

Anger can turn into rage which often times manifest into domestic violence. It is a blind virus that affects all ethnic groups regardless of age, color, religion, gender, culture or social status. Matter of fact, one would think that domestic violence occurs more with couples from the lower economical strata right, wrong! Domestic violence has no boundaries; it has woven into the main fabric of human existence. It is cruel, dehumanizing and diabolical that will leave its victim and perpetrator indelibly marked. When this occurs the victim of domestic violence and abuse is looked upon by society and the judicial system with sympathy and empathy.

To the contrary, the perpetrator is looked down upon by society with apathy and viewed as a social misfit. The woman is offered therapeutic services to alleviate or at best,
