The evil that men do not only goes around but comes around.

I dedicate this book to the Almighty God, who gave me the inspiration. I also dedicate to: Seun, Fisayo, and Tobi, with all my love.
Prologue
Thumbi had hidden herself behind the wardrobe. She sobbed, gripped with extreme fear, hot sweat running freely down her spine. She could see what the masked man was doing to her mom, but she couldn’t do anything, because he was armed. Moreover, her life and her mom’s would be at stake, and she didn’t want to blame herself for her mom’s death. The man had forcefully covered her nose with the handkerchief, attempting to suffocate her. Struggling for help, she had battled for her life until she had no more strength and became motionless. As soon as his mission was accomplished, he had left hurriedly, not leaving any trace behind.
Thumbi quietly left her hiding place, her heart beating fast, and went to where her mom lay motionless. She was sobbing more loudly now. It then occurred to her that the assailant might hear her if he hadn’t gone far. She checked her mom’s pulse and discovered that she was still alive, but she required very urgent attention; otherwise, she could die. But Thumbi wanted to know where the bastard that had done this to her mom had come from and who could have sent him. Leaving her side hurriedly, she jumped into her car in time to see the man driving sharply round the bend that led from her street to the highway. She followed in a hot chase, but lost him; he was very fast. She stopped her car in the middle of the highway, almost causing a fatal accident. She swore under her breath: I will find out who did this, even if it costs me my life. I know just what to do.
Chapter One
(Five years later)
In the café, with people coming and going in different directions, Thumbi sat in a corner, where she could see and capture everything going on. She was waiting for her friends. The last operation had been a great drain on her. She wished that the next one would not be too soon, so that she could have time to recuperate well. Thumbi waved at a waiter. He walked towards her, and looking straight into her eyes with a charming smile, asked How may I be of service?
Can I have a soda please,
she said, smiling back, while I’m still waiting for my friends?
Sure,
the waiter replied. I will be back shortly.
Thumbi, changing her sitting position and taking a furtive glance at the cars parked in the parking lot, drifted into some personal thoughts. I wonder what Prince is up to at the moment.
She had been going out with Prince for some months, and having him in this busy life of hers wasn’t fair on him, she thought, even though they loved each other.
Prince, a web designer and personal trainer, had always had a great life for himself – until he’d met her in a friend’s office some months ago. It seemed like yesterday.
She’d been walking into Charles’ office in one of the biggest banks in the town, when suddenly the elevator doors had opened, and Thumbi had rushed towards the door, at the same time waving at an old friend she hadn’t seen in years. Not looking ahead, she’d bumped into the most handsome man she had
