    Introduction

    He used the R word.

News reporters and economists gasped when Warren Buffet declared that our country was in an economic recession. Those fateful words were said back in 2006, when our country and the world were struggling through a major financial depression. Not only was the world in a financial mess, but many people’s personal finances, including mine, were messed up too. We were on the verge of a major housing bubble burst, and the stock market was doing badly. Many people were out of work, jobs were scarce, and many were losing their homes. The economic outlook for the future looked dim.

It was during those terrible times of the year 2006, that my personal journey out of financial hell began. In 2006, my husband walked out on me, and left me holding all the bills. I was in dire financial straits had no one to turn to for help. I was up to my neck in bills with mortgage/home equity loans of over $173,000, a home in need of repairs, and over $12,000 in unsecured debt, including credit card and student loan debts. It was in the middle of my own personal crisis, in 2007, that God gave me the vision for a financial plan, which saved me from total bankruptcy. Within the space of one year, in 2008, I was able to secure ALL the money I needed to get out of massive debt, and in 2010, I became debt-free, except for my mortgage. Not only did I wipe out all my credit card and student loan debts, but I was also able to reduce my mortgage loan by $13,000, and find an extra $10, 000 to repair my home – that’s over $35,000 worth of expenses gone!

In this book, I am going to share with you my journey into divine abundance, and the spiritual laws and principles which I followed, that helped me to get out of debt, and placed me on the road to financial stability, contentment, and fulfillment. I will also share with you all the other spiritual laws and principles I have learned and used over the years since then, that have kept me financially, emotionally, and spiritually sound, and which I teach others in my spiritual coaching practice. This is my personal testimony of my spiritual journey from financial hell, into inner peace, abundance and joy. It is my I hope that you too can take this journey out of financial hell, whether you are rich, poor, or in-between.

This is a great book for those struggling with lack because they feel their finances are cursed. Perhaps you have a good job, but you are still struggling financially. You are living hand-to-mouth or paycheck to paycheck. As soon as you take care of one major expense, something else happens that sets you back financially. This book will help you break loose from those negative financial chains. Perhaps you don’t have a good job, but all your efforts to get ahead are being frustrated. It seems like there are numerous stumbling blocks in your way, and you are frustrated from trying to remove them. Something good might happen for you, then all of a sudden, something bad happens that wipes it all away. This book will help you to remove those spiritual blockages to success. Perhaps you are rich, but your money is not giving you any satisfaction or joy in life. You have all the comforts that life has to offer, but yet you feel no joy in what you have attained. This book can help you find the joy in your material abundance. Perhaps you are satisfied or content with what you have, but you fear future economic prospects, and what it might mean for you and your family. This book will help you to gain control of your economic future, and give you reassurance for the future. In short, this book will help you learn how to find peace in the midst of any economic situation that you may be in, or that is around you, and in the world.

This book is a sequel to my first book, Surviving a Global Economic Crisis: A Biblical Perspective, which came out in 2008, just two years after my marital separation. In that book, I addressed the economic issues of our time from a Biblical perspective. In this book, OUT of Financial Hell: A Journey into Divine Abundance, I delve deeper into the spiritual laws and principles behind those teachings in my first book, and I share effective mind-body spiritual strategies that will bring change to your circumstances, from a holistic and spiritual perspective. Chapter One

    The Seven-Year Debt Cycle

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven ~The Preacher¹

Money is an energy that is either attracted to you or repelled away from you. While attracting money produces wealth and economic prosperity, repelling money creates a financial deficit, also known as debt. Not everyone in debt is financially bad off. Many of us have debt which we can handle, and are therefore economically balanced. We are not paying out more than we take in, and after we service our debts, we still have enough or more than enough to live on. There are others however who either cannot pay their debts, or have less than enough to live on, after paying their debts. For many, many, many years, I was in the less than enough category. How did I get there? Very easily - through credit card and student loans.

As I was the one who put myself through college with no parental help, I financed my college education with student loans and credit cards. At the end of it all, I racked up over $28,000 in student loans, plus credit card debt. Compared to other students, I did not do too bad, as other students were graduating college with student loans of over $100,000. I was fortunate, but at the same time, it was more money than I could pay back. You see, when I graduated college, there were no jobs to be had in my field. I studied physical therapy, but all the job offers I had in school disappeared. The health care field had taken a big hit due to cuts in Medicare, and hospitals were laying off, and no one was hiring. I had to immediately put my student loans in
