Scrolling through YouTube, I took a sip of tea and clicked on another video about a paranormal investigation.

It was 2011, and my life had gone a bit off track – or so it felt, anyway. I’d split up with the father of my two kids, and my dad had recently passed away. I struggled with social anxiety anyway, and now I had the additional pressure of worrying about how I was going to cope as a single mum. I felt lost, traumatised and alone.
