    INTRODUCTION

The Holy Bible is the written Word of God, which includes the Torah (Genesis to Malachi), and the gospels (Injeel) according to Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts of the Apostles and the letters of the Apostles to the churches and the Revelation by John. The Torah refers to the Old Testament while the gospels form the New Testament.

The Scripture refers to the letters of the Bible. Paul said the Scriptures are meant to build our faith and give us hope.

Romans 15:4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

God assured us that He has good plans for all His people, therefore in trials and tribulations we should hold on to our faith in Him.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

One of the ways to seek God is by prayerfully studying the Scripture with open mind. The Scriptures contain the blueprint of our beliefs. In it we learn and understand the mind of God for every situation; thereby faith can rejoice in trial.

The book is a bible study on the promised seed and its manifestation. The word of Jesus Christ states that "In the volume of the scripture it is written of me." God made a covenant with a man called Abraham and promised him the seed; How can we understand God in view of the relationship and how does this covenant relates to the rest of the world.

I shall be going through the bible with emphasis on what is written concerning the promised seed in the book of Genesis to Revelation and its fulfillment. The Christians are expecting the Messiah and the Israelite are equally expecting. Are our expectations the same? I shall as much as possible try to lay emphasis on the prophetic pointers in the bible that relates to the purpose and functions of the promised seed.

The prophets also wrote on the present and future events concerning Israel and will endeavor to relate prophesies with developments and fulfillments as it relates to and the world.

God words in the bible can guide us. He knows the end from the beginning. In the beginning He exists, and in the end He will still be. He is a designer and a master planner. He is orderly and frowns at disorderliness. The LORD is slow to anger and swift to forgive; the Most Merciful. He abhor cheating and oppression, He ensures equity in judgment, defender of the poor; the God of Justice. The great I AM; the Creator. He remembers and punishes iniquity for up to ten generation; the vengeful and the Mighty Man in Battle; God our Banner. He can’t behold sin yet He cleanses and declare righteous. In his anger he afflicts the disobedient and in him is the healing of the nations; God our healer. He rewards those who diligently seeks Him; God of Covenant. The Omni- Present (Everywhere present), the Omni-Potent (All powerful) and the Omni- Scent (All knowing), The Almighty God.

Many have studied the entire scripture once and many make a habit of reading it all over every year. We can study the same passage over and over again until the Holy Spirit use the passages to re mold us into the ornament of Honour pleasing to God. The scripture teaches that "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success." Joshua 1:8

The word of God came to Jeremiah, he was asked to visit the potter. Is there a potter in your neighborhood, perhaps you should visit one. Disney lands are good, visiting the potters, the mechanic garage, watching an artist sketching and drawing, Adire – African Tie and dye and other creative exercise are good for both children and adult mental health. They could also participate for the experience. In all these activities the beginning looks ruff but the end is gladdening. The craftsman is in control and could create beauty out of available resources. The making of an ornament could be tedious and weary but the finished work is a beautiful and valuable asset.

I have studied widely on the events that occur in the gap between the New Testament and the current affairs as it relates to the fulfillment of the scripture and will endeavor to present the developments with the understanding I perceived.

Biblical stories are presented with a view of bringing out the in-depth meaning or its relation to the promised seed. Most of my statements and opinions are supported with scriptures for the purpose of removing any form of ambiguity. The full texts of quoted scriptures are written for easier study. You may refer to other Bible versions for better clarity and understanding.

God the Creator has a plan for the world and has revealed it through the prophets. He gave man the ability to choose his path; this is called free will, a chance that isn’t available to other creations. How much have we key into His plans. I believe the scripture can guide us; let us study together.

    CHAPTER 1

    THE GARDEN PATH

God created man to have will power, which he has the freedom to use. The LORD gave us directions so that our will-power can be correctly channeled; our ability to seek direction and follow his guidelines will determine the path we follow. There are many paths but only one direct path to God, the decision is ours.

    Parable of a Farmer

A farmer had a large farm, on which he planted many fruits, he chose to plant corn in a certain field and gathered corns in his barn for planting. The seed he collected were gaining moist seed so they were carefully treated and planted in the corn field he has prepared.

He waited for a little while, and his hope surged. The seeds passed the first test; the seedlings came out, but some of the leaves weren’t green enough, so much still had to be done to help them grow. The farmer had weeded the ground before planting but still weeds started to grow. However he needed to wait a little while before he could weed again; he called the attention of the farm hands. Anytime he visited the farm, he checked on the plants but couldn’t avoid seeing the weeds. But who knows the reward of waiting better than a farmer? Something must be done on time, he has his plans. After the seedlings are very well above the ground he did the second weeding. It’s hazardous for the plants if not well managed.

On another visit to the farm the farmer saw some plants covered with fungus, he couldn’t wait for the general clearing so he uprooted the plants, though he hated to lose them because it reduced the harvest and often created a multiplier effect. The farmer sprayed the plants to stop the spread of the fungus and protect the remaining plants. The process was repeated before the harvest time.

On his return, he noticed the plants weren’t blossoming as they should be; to forestall a poor harvest, he sent an agriculturist to apply fertilizer but the farm hands didn’t permit the agriculturist to do that; so he applied the fertilizer to other farms and trained more farm hands.

When the harvest season arrived, the farmer visited the farms and found some of the plants were ready to be harvested but others hadn’t fully grown. He could not delay the harvesting everything about harvesting is based on time. He reaped in the work of his labor; the weeds can now be properly separated. The farmer gathered the corn and fruits of the other field into the barns he had carefully prepared.

With the experience he gained from this planting season, the farmer planned to use another field in the next planting season and apply the fertilizer from the beginning. He also planned to recruit some of the loyal farm hands and additional men from other farms who had experienced the use of fertilizer. He and the agriculturist would maintain a farm-house in the field to give the plants immediate attention they required.

    Created With Love

I would like to start with the familiar story of creation. I have included the full Bible verses, because the Scriptures are paramount to this study. Let the Scripture speak as you patiently read and meditate on them. Selah.

What was the state of man in the beginning, where are we now and what does the future hold? Where are we really heading. Is God still orchestrating the events around the world? It’s all in the Bible. Have you read it before? Let us read it together again.

The book of Genesis spoke of the account of God the Creator. It showed us the power of God who by the power in his word called things that does not exist into existence and blessed them.

You will read how God that is so powerful still deemed it fit to call the council of heaven for a meeting to make unanimous decision to create man in their image and actually giving man the breadth of God.

This Great God was moved by love to perform the first operation in the garden and brought out a female living being out the man he has created. He looked at them and said everything is perfect; he blessed them and went to rest.

Will mankind allow Him rest? Let us start with Genesis 1&2 the beginning of creation, an introduction to GOD the Creator. In Hebrew He is called YAHWEH, ELOHIM. Please read with me.

    Genesis 1

1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.

14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for -seasons, and for days, and years:

15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,

18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. 23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.

25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

31 And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

    Genesis 2.

1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished and all the host of them.

2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,

5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.

6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.

7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

8 And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.

9 And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

10 And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.

    11 The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold;

12 And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone.

13 And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia.

14 And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.

15 And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the Garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.

16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:

17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature that was the name thereof.

20 And Adam gave names to all cattle and to the fowl of the air and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found a help meet for him.

    21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;

22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made him a woman, and brought her unto the man.

23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

Hope you understand that God didn’t just create things arbitrarily but thoughtfully. He used the word Be and all things were created as He commanded. Notice the statement He made before the creation of mankind. He said; "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that crept upon the earth."

That isn’t just an ordinary creation; His thought from beginning is to create a Master Being, over all He has previously created. Man is a master being directly from the mind of God but subject to Him. He is God’s servant with great authority and sharing the same breath with God. No wonder God said it’s perfect and rested. The Spirit of God in man was in perfect control.

God has ordered everything He created perfectly. The heavens which includes the Sun, the Stars, the Moon, the planets they are perfectly correlated and coordinated according to God’s order. He used them to sustain His creation and also uses them for time, sign and seasons. The sea and all that are in it continues to produce and multiply and nourish both man and the earth according to Gods order. The birds and animals exist according to their order, and man in his obedient status is orderly and things were perfect.

Things were made to be dependent on others, thereby forming an orderly network that move in cycles. Man was in charge of the system network and he reports to God. It was so perfect that God finds it convenient to visit man himself and the relationship blossomed until it happened.

This world seem chaotic, how come God said it’s perfect. Well, what is chaotic about the world is man whom God has created. A man He bestowed the blessings of being in the image of God with the will power to choose good or evil. The only conditional statement in the creation of man is that he is subject to God.

    The Beginning of Degeneration

The man was named Adam by God meaning Red Earth and after which God brought everything else before him to name. Whatever he calls them is what God accepted there was no argument. God also brought the woman to him after a very successful operation in the heavenly theatre; immediately he saw her there was chemistry, he said this is the bone of my bone and the flesh of my flesh she shall be called Eve. It was love at first sight; he isn’t going to be lonely again.

Man was put in charge of the beautiful rich garden and everything belongs to him, as long as he is in obedience to his Creator. He isn’t just a gardener; he has right to eat what he like in the garden but with two exception. That is another conditional statement; he should not eat the fruit from two of the trees in the garden.

God sent him to the first school, and Himself was the school teacher. He showed him the Sun and its function, the Moon and its function, each plant and their function and cycle, each animal and their function and cycle. When he got to the Tree of Knowledge He said you may not eat that yet, you don’t have to jump from primary to University, then they move on to the Tree of life, He looked at it, well !! Let’s see how you perform with the things I have thought you so far; you may not touch or eat from it.

These particular trees, the LORD has told them that the day they eat of it, they would die. This means they would be punished by not been given the opportunity and ability to live forever. They have not yet been given eternal life; however, they have the breath of God that is returnable to Him.

It so happened that Adam and Eve fell under the temptation of the devil, which came to them in the form of a snake and advised them to eat one of the forbidden fruits. They were gullible and fell; Adam and Eve were already enjoying so much authority in the garden bossing everything around now Satan tempts them with an opportunity for more authority.

James 1:12-16 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the LORD hath promised to them that love him. 13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: 14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. 16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.

When God visited Adam and Eve in the evening they hid themselves because the fruit has given them a greater knowledge and they understand the full meaning of nakedness. When they saw the apple, they both knew that it looks good and taste good, because God has given them the knowledge of good things, now they knew good and evil. How did they now understand evil things? They ate the fruit.

We can relate to them in our personal lives. When we are innocent and when we lost our innocence, when we think we are smart and how sorry we felt afterwards. Adam’s and Eve’s story isn’t about them alone, it is about us.

It means that immediately they broke the law, the glory that covered them has departed, and they are now shamefully naked. We have been told in the scripture at first that they were both naked but not ashamed. Shame is evil; it means breaking the Law is both sinful and shameful.

Adam and Eve were arrested by shame but God intervened. The accuser and the defendant were interrogated in the first Law Court; God was the judge.

Rule of Law: Ye shall not touch nor eat of the tree in the midst of the garden.

Penalty: The day you eat of it, you shall die.

    Scene: Garden of Eden

Serpent: Hi Adam, I learnt God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

Woman: We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

Serpent: You shall not surely die: For God knew that the day you eat from it, then your eyes shall be opened, and you shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

Observation: Adam plucked it and they both look at the fruit.

Adam: Eve what do you think.

Eve: I think the tree is good for food, and it’s pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise.

Let us taste it, Hmmm yummy. I can see, I can see, oh we are naked.

Adam: What do you means we are naked.

    Eve: Alright, have some.

Adam: It is true, we are naked.

Eve: Adam please gets me some fig leaves.

    Adam: Ok

Eve: I have sewn it, cover yourself and I will use the apron.

    Adam: God is coming!!!

Woman: Don’t let him meet us naked, let us hide ourselves behind the trees.

God: Adam, Adam, Adam Where are you?

Adam: I heard your voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.

Judge: Who told you, that you are naked? Have you eaten of the tree, I commanded you not to eat?

Accuser: The woman you gave me as companion, she gave me of the fruit, and I did eat.

Judge: Eve, what is this that you have done?

Defendant: The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.

Accomplice: I only told them the purpose of the tree; that its fruit is good for knowledge.

Judge: You have to leave the garden, or else you will eat the fruit of life also.

    God: Lamb

Lamb: Here I am. I follow you everywhere.

God: We can’t leave them naked. Give them your coat.

Lamb: Not my will but your will be done.

God: Slay the Lamb and gave its coat to Adam and Eve

Penalty: The Serpent was cursed and the Man and the woman were cursed.

Exit: Adam and Eve left the presence of the LORD after the pronouncement of the penalty and that was the beginning of the degeneration.

God: (to the council) They have eaten the fruit of knowledge and they will be like us if they eat the fruit from the tree of life. They can’t remain in the garden.

    Council: They nod yes

God: Cherubs guide the garden before they make a smart move to invade us.

God interrogated them, got to the root cause of their disobedience and apportioned punishment to all involved. Satan the accuser of brethren turned Adam who called his wife the bone of my bone and the flesh of my flesh, to her accuser.

The free-will God gave to Adam and Eve has been misused; it’s meant to be used to serve God willingly. The penalty of their choice is what the entire creation is suffering till today. Adam and Eve were sent out of the Garden of Eden. Though angry in his mercy God gave the promise of a seed with power to crush the serpent.

Genesis 3:14-15 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: 15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

When negative is joined to the positive it creates energy called power. The power can be well directed and you have light and other good uses. If the energy isn’t properly handled, it can lead to electric shock and loss of life. Adam and Eve now have both forces, the mother of inventions.

God said man has become as one of us, and it seems how can that be true? He sees the end from the beginning. Thousands of years after the event in the Garden of Eden, Man in his creative element is now flying in the air, sailing on the sea, visiting the moon, communicating with distances through radio waves, Phones, Television and more. Look around you and register the creative works you can see.

Genesis 3:22-24 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever: 23 Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. 24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden the Cherubim, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

With the evil influence on Adam and Eve, God knew there is danger if they eat the fruit of the Tree of life at that point. Man creative energy can be negatively geared towards destructive inventions. Two thousand years ago who would think of Bomb, Nuclear weapons and more. The ancient world would’ve been wiped out with wars because they are not as densely populated as we are presently. I would’ve taught if man invent sub-marines it would be for undersea excursions but that does not exist now.

God still loves Adam and Eve but they can’t dwell too close. When you love someone, you will want them to be near all the time, so there is a problem here; God is up to the task and has given the first prophecy; the promise of a seed with power.

He didn’t leave Adam and Eve naked in their sinful state but in His mercy He prepared a lamb and used its skin to make a quality leather cloth for their covering. So right from the Garden of Eden there has been Law, punishment for disobedience and also mercy.

Genesis 3:21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.

    Acceptable Worship

When a man and a woman bonds it results in the creation of another being called a child or children. It’s good to teach children early in life the process and implications of this bond. Adam bond with Eve and she gave birth to their first son, whom they named Cain and the second son they named Abel. They both worshiped God with their offerings. Cain offered the fruit of the field because he was a farmer; while Abel offered the firstling of his sheep because he was a shepherd and he offered the very fat lamb because he loved God.

Genesis 4:2b And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.

Abel offered all the firstling of his flock and in addition the fat sheep. The additions are not compulsory, it was a willing offering. God accepted his offering of love. Later God asked Moses to instruct His people to bring willing offerings from their heart.

Exodus 25:2 Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering.

God seeks to have pre-eminence in all things concerning us. This is an act of reciprocating the expression of His love for us and is the basis of an acceptable worship. Cain brought fruits but not the First Fruit while Abel brought the Firstling of his flock. Abel offering was salted with joy and love and became acceptable. The LORD later commanded the Israelites to offer all their firstlings to Him. All the firstborn sons unless redeemed, the first born of all their animals and the first of the firstfruits of their farmland belongs to the LORD.

Genesis 4: 3b-4a Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. 4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof.

Exodus 22:29-30 Thou shalt not delay to offer the first of thy ripe fruits, and of thy liquors: the firstborn of thy sons shalt thou give unto me. 30 Likewise shalt thou do with thine oxen, and with thy sheep: seven days it shall be with his dam; on the eighth day thou shalt give it me. Exodus 23:19 The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring into the house of the LORD thy God. Numbers 15:21 Of the first of your dough ye shall give unto the LORD an heave offering in your generations.

It was stated that; "But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect." Why? He was a farmer and he brought his farm produce. What is God reason for not accepting Cain’s offering? Only God knows, and He gave us the clue. The bible passage
