Pastor Portia Luthuli

Pastor Portia Luthuli wrote her first book called “Collection of Hope”. The book is still changing people’s lives, giving them hope in the hopeless situation. She is the founder of the Deborah Women’s Club in RSA (non-profit organisation) whereby she leads more than 500 women in their lives. It’s a network of women from different backgrounds in the whole world. The DWC accommodates ladies from 14 years- 75 years.

PREFACE

IT IS TRULY amazing that each and every one of us has been called by God to fulfil our purpose on earth. I know how challenging it is to respond to His calling. I wrote this book after responding to his Call and identifying things that need to be addressed in relation to women and the Call:

•  Lack of identity

•  Lack of a vision

•  Difficulties in achieving greater things in life due to gender inequality

•  Doubting the call of God in their lives

•  Being perceived as the weakest vessel that cannot do anything in life.

There are different stages that involve the daunting calling God. I went through some of the stages and I am still learning to date. This book is meant to encourage and guide you in your personal Calling. Don’t be afraid; keep the faith and be strong with every step of this journey. I have been able to do so with the help of the Lord Jesus Christ: His compassion, love, obedience and his teachings are so amazing and life-changing.

This book will also share a little secret with you: Not all of us are called to the five-fold ministry as normally expected within the church. Others have been anointed and called to be leaders at work, businesses, social clubs, political organisations, you name it.

I have learned from the Bible that when God calls you he also gives you His full backup in all the seasons of your Calling. This makes it easier for us to believe that obedience is better than sacrifice and that a Call is not about pleasing people but pleasing God. Let the Father find a way of pleasing his people through you. That’s what makes the Call amazing. We get to learn that God does not choose people in the same way that we do. Instead, he chooses in accordance with his high ways and understanding.
