About this ebook

Becoming GODS INSTRUMENT is a book, a manual, for those who have been weighed down by fear and indecision in taking the next step towards righteousness. In it, the author provides a step-by-step guide that readers need to follow to awaken or rekindle their faith.

In addition, real-life instances are cited to demonstrate that God Almighty uses the insignificant things to confound the wiseand in this regard, the author quotes copiously from the Bible to buttress every point he raises: the example of Prophet Samuel, Gideon, Joseph who rescued the Israelites from Egypt and so on.

In this age and time when the Devil, ever deceptive, is searching for those to devour and lure to destruction, Evangelist Eguamwenses book is the sure antidote, as the author, himself, tells the reader in unmistakable terms that you can actually become Gods instrument that will effect a breakthrough in peoples lives. This makes the book engrossing, interesting and easy to follow.

    Dedication

Firstly, this book is dedicated to our Lord Jesus Christ, who is my source of inspiration. To my sweet and lovely gem, Debbie, your presence and exceptional wisdom have aided me strongly. You have never waived neither have you stopped believing in me even when circumstances compelled you to do so.

To my everlasting champions: Desree, Dean and my little ‘Igwe,’ Dexter, for all the pains and struggles we have shared together.

Finally, in memory of my late mother, Mrs Grace Aghafekokhian Eguamwense. You were a great mother indeed and your irreplaceable loss stings my soul till this day.

    Acknowledgements

I sincerely appreciate God Almighty for the finest inspiration I had in writing this book. Even though I was not to be counted amongst the smartest, the strongest or the wisest of all the people, the Almighty still regarded me as having value and significance beyond all reckoning to use me as his instrument.

I am grateful to the University of Huddersfield Law graduate and author, Martins Agbonlahor and also Pastor Olusegun Olurantimi for taking time in spite of their busy schedules, to proofread the book. My gratitude also goes to Ritchie Eguamwense, my elder brother, for shaping my personality and showing me the way ahead.

Fatherly counsel, guidance and prayers were never in short supply in the course of writing and I will be forever indebted to the following: Pastor and Pastor Mrs Jeffrey Iyonawan for their words of wisdom, Bishop Peter M. Otunkpaikhain, Pastor Ayaosi Charles, Evangelist Akinsola Kehinde, my prayer partners: Sister Osarugue Osunde, Sister Susan Ideh, Sister Ijose Eguamwense, Mrs O.P. Mordi and all my beloved ones.

Though I am unable to thank everybody individually, I can only express my indebtedness. I do acknowledge all your love and prayers.

    Author’s Preface

The problem plaguing the world of Christianity these days, seem to be a certain unfounded doubts in our capabilities coupled with our ignorance that God is always there to bear all our troubles: Can I excel as a Christian? Can I stand and not fall?

Growing up in rural Nigeria in 1986, I was a victim of youthful exuberance who engaged himself in several schemes to make money. Most of these schemes were of course, sinful and ungodly, as they were inept activities one could not defend.

I belonged to a house, which had a family history of idol-worshipping. I saw Christians going about their daily activities proclaiming the coming of the Lord, but anytime I contemplated within me that I shall give God a trial, the devil would come and disabuse my mind, thereby, making the idea of serving God dry out like the withered seed in the Parable of the Sower: Matthew 13:6. More so, we are taught in the Bible that for those who are on the verge of accepting the Lord as their personal Savior, the Devil comes after them like a roaring lion: 1Peter 5:8. This was my state of mind, my predicament, in my earlier years.

My life soon began to witness a transformation when my elder sister took me to a church where one brother preached and unraveled the lessons behind Proverbs 14:12, where it is stated that "there is a way which seem right unto a man, but the end thereof are
