Know Down Long Enough to Pray is a book about one woman who found the strength to overcome deformity, sexual abuse, gain and domestic violence, addiction, sickness, denial, hurt, grief, shattered dreams and the ultimate betrayal. She is still standing.

Her story has swept the world as a Keynote speaker in Conferences, Seminars, Church Services, Television, Radio and Newspapers from the United States to Africa.

When you listen to her story or read about it, you will find the encouragement to find your place of purpose and passion to fulfill your destiny and watch dreams come to pass.

Some may say, When life deals you lemons, make lemonade. But this author sees it quite differently; She says, When Life deals you lemons, take the seeds out and plant you an orchard and sale the lemons and prosper.

    Preface

    I didn’t write this book to mock at life’s adversities or the misfortune that others may be going through. Instead, I tremendously knew that by writing this book those who have stumbled into bad relationships, been hurt, rejected or fallen into the pitfalls of despair would be encouraged. In this book you can rise above your circumstances and learn how to decree and declare that you too can be a winner and defeat the Devil in his scheme to destroy your life.

    Churches all over the world have sometime overlooked precious family values for the sake of keeping others happy, while sometimes forgetting happiness may cost you what you are not ready to pay. Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free, John 8:31-32. We also need to remember, freedom comes with a price.

    It’s the truth that we know that can make us free. But did you know when truth is sacrificed for the sake of concealment of another’s persons pride, the person concealing truth becomes a prisoner to the lies that lay dormant within? In the prison of lies, the entrapment of low self-esteem, bitterness, anger, rage and shame breed roots of living a life of constant fear and manipulation and placing judgment and blame upon all who attempt to try and break down the walls of communication and love.

    There has been a level of communication that’s lost in our Churches today. Still family secrets have been enclosed and the silence of these secrets may never be revealed to the surrounding community of believers that sit in our congregations Sunday after Sunday. Yet, there has been a masquerade of people flowing in and out of our lives who have untold secrets within, because they’re not sure if anyone would believe them if they exposed the truth. God also has a way of protecting truth because there are certain memories He will suppress or erase to protect the mental health of some. These are the sensitive areas of our life that no one really knows or wants to discuss.

    We tend to listen or sometimes ignore hidden hurts and violations that happened in the unseen places of our lives. It’s our job as Pastors, Leaders and Mentors to teach and protect the flock as caring humans, by watching and guarding those from the one who comes to steal, kill and destroy the precious sheep. When the wolf gets in, or if the shepherd’s gotten too busy and forgot to nurse back the wounds of the hurting sheep, they will get hurt, wounded, lost and perhaps die. The sheep will scatter when the gate is opened.

    If Pastors and Leaders are going to neglect their job, then they need to remember this: And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them; and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, saith the Lord Jeremiah 23:4.

    Therefore, while you are reading this book, ask the Lord to reveal to you His truth that will bring the liberty to embrace His perfect love to those who may be hurting.

    Most of all, if you are someone that needs a healing from the tragedies and setbacks in life, when you’re being knocked down, you have to fight your way back up. Yes, so while you’re down, you may as well stay there and pray. The Victory is yours when you are Knocked Down, Long Enough to Pray.

    Chapter 1

    In the Beginning

    Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying:

    "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you;

    Before you were born I sanctified you;

    I ordained you a prophet to the nations."

    (Jeremiah 1:4-5)

    It’s a girl, but she may not live very long said the doctors. My very early arrival did not have a favorable doctor’s report. My parents were told that there was a good possibility that if I did survive, I would be retarded. I was born in the eight month of my mother’s pregnancy. Babies who are born at 5, 6, or 7 months premature have a greater chance of
