Some Glad Morning - Irene Ford-Smith
Introduction
I am not sure how I became the eulogist for death, but God decided this was my path.
In the beginning, as a young mother of two toddlers, I volunteered to serve in the Church Nursery with the babies. It was the perfect place for me. As my children grew, I changed ministry with them and volunteered to serve in the Children Choir with Brother and Sister Steven & Carrie Young. They decided to begin a choir for the younger children (ages three to five) since they could not be a part of the older choir. Of course, they needed a director, and I was volunteered to lead. Do I know anything about directing younger children, much less teaching them? The answer No!
God certainly calls the unprepared and then performs the work inside you to guide and direct. As the years passed, I received my call to the ministry. A call I refused to accept, but God moves in ways we can never fully understand. I was not fully accepted into the ministry because I was a woman, but GOD! Today, I am an ordained minister of the Gospel where I bear the responsibility and the joy of ministering to those who are experiencing grief and sorrow.
I write this book to share my memoirs, while some experiences will make you smile, and others may make you cry. My prayer is these writings will bring comfort, give hope, and be a source of encouragement. For my sisters in the ministry, I pray you will be bolstered and continue to walk in your calling. And for my brothers, I pray from this day forward you will give thought to your words and actions towards the women in
