About this ebook

In this Book the Author continues his reflections on the growing global crises between Faith in God and Peace on earth . Having concluded his review of the global wars, crises and conflicts between Christianity and Secularity in his ten Books on WE ARE AT WAR , he turns in this Book to reflect on the Peace promised by Christ to His Followers. Over two thousand years ago , Christ said to His followers , I have come to bring you peace , the peace that the world cannot give.
He also said,
I have come to bring wars between father and mother, brother and sisters, daughters and in-laws .
The Author reflects on these apparent contradictory statements. He takes a journey across the world to view the state of Peace and Faith in the past half a century. He concludes from the evidence of the global experience in the last fifty years period fully supports Christs statements. He then wonders why the Secular world forgets this fact and continues to drive Christ and His teaching out of their lives and public governance .
He attributes this to the work of Satan , Gods only enemy .Enlightening the secular world on these facts is one of the challenges facing the Mission of the New Evangelization recently declared by Pope Emeritus, Benedict XVI. Through these Books, the Author contributes to that Mission. He brings into his Books, his personal global experience gained from his travels to many of the nations across the world which are victims of the Global crises between Faith and Peace. He provides the following examples. In Europe, the nation of Yugoslavia is no longer in the world map.
In the Muslim nations of the Middle East, historic cities like Damascus and Bagdad are now in ruins while other nations like Egypt and Israel are under threat because of growing conflicts between Peace and Faith. The Imperial nations before the coming of Christ like Persia, Assyria, Babylonia, Egypt and Greece are mere dreams today of their global power before Christ. Peaceful Governance continues to escape the nations of Afghanistan, Pakistan, Tunisia, Sudan, and Somalia .
In the advanced Nations of America and Europe millions of innocent children are killed every year by their own mothers before they can even see sunlight. The Communist nations like North Korea continue with the Pre-Christ rule of enslavement of their people and oppression and persecution of Christians . The developing nations of Africa and Latin America continue to be devastated by political corruption and the reign of armed youth gangs that are victims of drug and human trafficking and assassinations.
Against these crises of Peace in the secular world , the Author views the continuing reign of Christs Peace amongst His followers. He concludes by reminding the world of their real enemy, Satan who had been the enemy of God and man since creation of the world. As we stated in these Books, Satan cannot bring Peace to the world but only wars, crises, Lies, Deceptions and False Promises as he did to Adam and Eve . The Author therefore reminds the world through these Books that God is the true source of their Peace on earth. The Author therefore calls on them to turn back to Faith in One, Almighty and Loving God . It is Satan that they should drive out of the secular square and not God.

    FOREWORD

Having published ten Books on the Title WE ARE AT WAR against Satan, Vita believes that it is appropriate to conclude the series with a look at the other side of the Christian Mission on earth, namely, the side of following Christ, carrying our Crosses and enjoying His Peace, while fighting His enemy.

I agree with him. Based on my knowledge of Vita from the time he was my student at Holy Ghost College Owerri, Nigeria, to the present, I am not surprised at his audacity in undertaking such a challenge to contribute to the New Evangelization of The Catholic Church in response to the Call by Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI. I have little doubt that his response reflects his deep Faith in the Church and extensive exposure to the Global Secular world gained through his long career with the British Government as an Economic Adviser and the World Bank as a Senior Economist. May his contribution yield the desired fruits to the Global Mission of the Catholic Laity.

    ACKNOWLEDGMENT

TO THE FOLLOWING CATHOLIC SOCIETIES AND

    THE EWTN

In one of the Ten Books on WE ARE AT WAR, I expressed my Acknowledgment to some secular institutions responsible for my Education, Experience and Exposure in the Secular world, all through my Professional Life. That experience provided me opportunities to learn the challenges facing the secular governance across the world and reflect them in these Books.

In this Book on Christ’s World of Peace in His Church, it is appropriate to offer similar Acknowledgment and Dedication to some of the Societies in the Catholic Church through which I obtained much of my exposure to the Catholic Church and Laity and reflect that exposure and experience in these Books. These Societies include the following—

    1.   THE CONFRATERNITY OF THE PRECIOUS BLOOD OF JESUS

This was the first Association of The Laity that I joined. It enabled me to learn and promote my spirituality through Devotions to The Precious Blood of Jesus shed seven times (from His Circumcision to the Piercing of His Heart on the Cross) to save us.

    2.   CONFRATERNITY OF THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS AND IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY

One cannot be too long in the Devotion to the Precious Blood of Jesus without moving forward to consecrate one’s whole family to His Sacred Heart through this Association of the Laity that is dedicated to honoring His Most Sacred Heart from which His Blood flowed to save us. The sufferings of His Heart are also tied with the suffering of His Mother’s Immaculate Heart. His Blood was obtained from His Mother’s Blood. As Simeon prophesied at His Presentation to the Temple, when he said to Mary, "A sword shall pierce your Heart also".

    3. THE OPUS DEI

This is one of the Men’s Leading Associations of the Laity in the Church. It was founded by St. Josemarie Escriva to teach the Laity that they can become Saints in any good secular career and profession they are. The Opus Dei opens the eyes of the Laity to the teaching of the Church that all can become Saints. Sainthood is not open only to Priests, Bishops and Ordained Missionaries in the Church. Many Saints of the Church were ordinary believers in Christ who sacrificed their lives in the warfront as Martyrs fighting in the war with His enemy and its human agents.

    4. KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS—

The Association of the Knights of Columbus is another Men’s Leading Group of warriors in the Laity of the Church. They are present in every warfront providing financial and logistic supports to the Church. Like other Knights, they fight their battles under the rules and guidance of Christ, like lambs against wolves as we described in Our Book 6.

    5. EWTN GLOBAL FAMILY

Last, but by no means the least of my Dedication and Acknowledgement, goes to the Global Network of The Eternal Word Television Family. Few people can undertake the type of mission in these Books without the benefit of the EWTN’s Global Religious Services.

    PREFACE

    THE NEW EVANGELIZATION

    OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH

    1.   Growing Global Crises

The world today is experiencing growing decline in Peace due to the Religious Conflicts between Peace and Faith in God, from the Personal and Family to the National and Global levels. As a result, the Catholic Church had launched a New Evangelization and declared a Year of Faith in order to address the current religious wars and conflicts across the globe between Faith and Peace. The New Evangelization followed the conference of global Religious Leaders at Assisi in Italy called by Pope Emeritus, Benedict XVI.

    2.   The Pope’s Call on the Laity to Contribute to the

    Mission of The New Evangelization

While launching the New Evangelization, the Pope called on the Catholic Laity across the world to rise up and contribute to the mission of the New Evangelization. The Pope’s Call was conveyed to members of the Washington Catholic Arch Diocese by His Eminence, Cardinal Donald Wuerl, the Archbishop of Washington. These Books are the Author’s Response to the Pope’s Call as conveyed by His Eminence.

    3.   Tough Challenges facing the Laity in their mission

The Call of Pope Emeritus on the Laity presents tough challenges indeed to the Catholic Laity. We shall present the reasons for these challenges in the first introductory chapter of Volume 1 below and make suggestions on how the Laity can confront these challenges.

    4.   Christ Promised War and Peace

During His teaching on earth Christ said,

"I have come to bring you Peace, the peace that the world cannot give".

This is the Peace that we are reviewing in this Book on
