OCURRANCES OF WORDS TRANSLATED HELL

I did it! I finally, just before my 90 th birthday, folded up my gardening tools and will do the same with my quilting frame. I am finished with that part of my life and will devote my time giving thanks to my Lord and Savior and, hopefully, aid others to see the love He has for all mankind and those in the universe with whom we are unacquainted. To know Him as I do is a great blessing. This book is written concerning the love God has for all His creatures and to disprove the idea of an everlasting hell or any of the churches hell.

Having grown up in the 1920’s in an all catholic town, except for 3 families, of which I was part of one, was quite an experience in gaining self worth. It was not easy when you are told daily, by other children, that you are going to hell because you do not go to church. These Catholics cried because they did not have the money to get a relative out of hell and into purgatory or out of purgatory into heaven. These clergymen playing god while many were morally depraved. How little they knew of what Christ’s sacrifice accomplished for all mankind.

Actually the thought of going to hell never bothered me because I didn’t believe there was one. My parents told me there was no hell and that all will be saved. They were studying a translation of the new testament that was a translation directly from the oldest codices in existence ( the Vaticanus, the Sinaiticus and the Alexandrinus), which were written in the uncial form. That means the Greek was written in all capital letters with no spacing between the words and no punctuation marks. In the cursive manuscripts man made changes included spacing and punctuation, which were not as accurate. Most of our bibles, including the King James, are revisions of other bibles and they did not have access to the codices mentioned. These were influenced by the Latin Vulgate where such terms as hell, damnation and the eternity of such terms prevailed. Even the smallest of errors in translation as a misplaced comma can cause falsehoods. For example, Christ told the malefactor: I am saying to you, today I will see you in paradise. Was Christ in paradise the day He died? NO! The correct rendering is: I say to you today, I will see you in paradise. Such errors in punctuation and translation has resulted in portraying
