Mary Jarvis

Author Biography: Mary Jarvis After retiring from a nursing career that spanned five decades, Mary Jarvis is pursuing a lifelong dream of writing stories for children of any age. When Is a Bear Not a Bear? A Family Tale is her first book and based upon a story idea that began sixteen years ago when her son brought home a unique and tiny four legged foundling from the Idaho woods. She and her husband Charles live in Colorado with their elderly friend, Little Bear. Biography for illustrator Christine Bauer Christine is a missionary kid who grew up in West Africa. She always loved drawing and painting. Since marrying Steve in 2008 and discovering that his mother needed an illustrator for her children’s book, a beautiful collaboration began. She and Steve share the Gospel of Jesus Christ (as found in the Bible) every chance they get where they live in Colorado and while this is not a religious story, we hope it has brought you joy and perhaps some contemplation of some of the more important issues in life. Follow their witnessing adventures at WatersourceChapel.org.

    ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

Thank you, Lord, for granting a little wish, as only You in Your wisdom could, for the best little dog that needed a family as much as they needed him and for a time in this life for writing and telling stories.

To my parents, Rodger and Dolores Feahr, who inspired four children to love a good story, I owe a tremendous debt of gratitude. Their patience and persistence in providing a steady flow of story reading and printed material for all of us will impact generations to come.

Thank you Chuck for being such a patient husband and best friend.Without your support this project would not have had a chance. Little Bear and I thank you for all the camping adventures and so much more.

Steve Bauer, thank you for being a great son, and for
