SAM MEETS HOBBES
Sam was a little tan colored Chihuahua. She lived in the country with Mr. and Mrs. Tyler. There was a large yard, a garden, and also a forest which Sam liked to explore.
Sam was only about half as big as a cat, but she thought she was a big fierce dog. She was a fearless little dog who would challenge much larger dogs and other animals when they came onto the Tyler property. More than once Mr. or Mrs. Tyler had had to come to the rescue when Sam was about to fight with a large dog.
The Tylers had a large garden with many different vegetables. One fine summer morning after the Tylers had gone to the city, Sam went out to the garden. Although she did not like vegetables, she knew her owners liked them. She decided to make it her job to keep rabbits and other animals
