Tito and his Flying Dog tells the story of Amelia, a little Jack Russel dog who is looking for her forever home. She is known as “an escape artist” because she is good at escaping when she doesn’t like a place. But, when she finds Tito, who is in need of a companion, she knows that there is no need to escape anymore. The book explains how dogs fly in an airplane and the arrival of Abuela, Tito’s grandmother, offers an opportunity to explore family routines and learn commonly used Spanish words and phrases.

ANA MARÍA CUNEO is a bilingual writer and an avid promoter of the Hispanic culture. She holds a master’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Sonoma State University, California. Originally from Argentina, her articles, mostly about the Hispanic culture, have been published in several newspapers and magazines in four different states. In the 1980s in California, she was editor of La Voz Hispana, a Spanish language publication, and a contributing writer for segments of En Camino/On the Road, a bilingual program produced by Chanel 22. In 1999, she published Biela’s Comet, a historical play and, in 2022, Snapshots of the Hispanic/Latino Culture, a bilingual book. Mrs. Cuneo lives in Idaho with her husband Richard. She enjoys traveling, writing, and making up stories for her grandchildren.
