Music theory should be a subject of study like Science, or Mathematics; when, at the conclusion of the course you understand fully the detail of the theory, and the text yields full understanding and appreciation. Through the years of studying good music, many have the feeling, Now what? or Where do we go from here? It shows evidence the musical vocation has not been made clear. Music, a universal language, is as important as Hot Dogs at a ballgame and should be an occupation to provide for those who live in its midst.

Back to the Science and Mathematics! They earn us a good living with their knowledge properly applied!

Let us start with first things first. Study music without instrumentation from the basics first. Require it in the school system like History. Then for those who want to continue, let them turn out some works that will surpass the present system with much greater strength!

P R E F A C E

In the late 1970’s I was inspired to write music. Since then much time has been spent to fulfill the inspiration. In the early 1980s I began to discover many things about music that were unknown to me, and things began to come together in proper sequence. I now feel I want to pass this information on to others, for who else has done this; only leaving people in wonderment, not knowing where it goes next?

After checking the content and the accuracy of the material, it was found from the publications of The National Association of the Schools of Music in Reston, Virginia to fill a good portion of the requirements in the Music Theory Degree.

While forming the sequential notebook, a pattern of numbers was found. These numbers turned into dimensions and when printed out in symmetry, formed geometrical patterns for certain musical relationships.

Have you heard of the Circle of Fourth and Fifths? Look now!

Music is a universal language and should not be overlooked.

Know the theory and the chord notation.

From 1458 to 2367 know the theory.

Use the manual economically at your leisure.

Be a part of the fun at your fingertips.

Write lyrics and leadsheets.
