Through quiet times with God, Im hypnotized by the crashing waves on the beach and the sandpipers scurrying along the shore, digging for sand crabs. I take in a deep breath of the salted ocean air, where traces of sweet suntan lotion still linger; all these wonderful blessings have helped me manage to put together some supplications in the form of this beach devotional. In this book, I have incorporated my own personal experiences with differences such as love and hate, truth and deceit, along with many others. Ive matched these differences with Scripture and my own personal beach photography. I pray that the Scripture will help you deepen your relationship with God and the devotions and photos bring you closer to Him.

Julia Bocox has always been interested in photography and has had a passion for sharing her ideas and interests through her photographs. Julie and her husband, Bob, of thirty-five years live in California, where the beaches are home to her inspiration. She has two sons and three beautiful grandchildren. One son has been in the army, so the power of prayer for his protection and relying on God’s promises has been her strength. Recently, God had inspired Julie to create this devotional and relate to all those who have had similar trials and experiences. Like others, Julie and her husband have lived through tough times, losing jobs, houses, financial stability, etc. God has always been their focal point. Like others, I sometimes feel hate in my heart that I know is wrong. I have been hurt by others and yes, I have also hurt others in return. I know that this is wrong and that I need to pray about feelings. I find my peace at the beach where I can be alone and ask him to forgive me and show me some sign of his forgiveness and love.

In answer to my prayers, countless times I see things on the shore that remind me to Love and not hate. I find objects in shapes of hearts everywhere on the beach such as corals, shells, rocks, sea anemones, and driftwood and flower petals. It is amazing our creator‘s art that is transformed for us to recognize his message to us. I have even found sea kelp and crab shells in the form of a heart. To me, heart shapes are symbols of Love. Is it a message to tell me to Love Always?
