About this ebook
J. Alex Ficarra
Undoubtedly, growing up during the Vietnam War, Watergate, and gas shortages can have a profound effect on a child. Also being the son of immigrant parents most certainly can lead to a traumatizing clash of cultures and the understanding of right and wrong. With that being said, the Remington Company gave me the honor of a lifetime by letting me express my thoughts in unison with telling the brilliant stories of professionals around the world. As I wrote endlessly twenty-four hours a day, I realized that our world is full of hope and real promise. I realized that it wasn’t about war, ideology, and the pursuit of global domination; I realized that, in the pages of this great book, great things were about to happen, if only these stories could be made public. I realized that I had the opportunity of a lifetime by expressing the humanitarian attributes that these professionals continually made. After many years of writing, I realized that the Remington Company had a distinct and noble purpose. Perhaps if we could not change the present, we could certainly try to change our future. With that, we created our mentorship program, which gets these prolific stories out to the children. We wrote the stories with zest but never crossed the line of respect or dignity. We wished to capture the hearts of our audience and prove to them that giving was not an option but more so our duty as life forms on our planet. Today our book has a theme, “Inspiring the Youth of America.” This theme was our way of telling the world, “Let’s hold hands and prepare our children for a better life.” Today I continue to write for the registry. My life has irrevocably changed for the better. I volunteer for anything all the time. I enjoy moments of quiet and the appreciation of our environment. I read these biographies in amazement as everyone else does, and it never seems to get uneventful. Either way, I sincerely hope you enjoy these biographies and use them to strengthen your spirit and confidence about our existence as a species on this planet. I patiently wait for divine intervention in order to write my next biography and am happy to serve the brilliant members of the Remington Registry of Outstanding Professionals. —J. Here at Remington as we publish our latest book commonly known as Inspiring the Youth of America.
We realize that the professionals in this great book are anything but common. We realize that soaring like an Eagle is certainly not for turkeys and flying like a jet airplane certainly doesn’t happen from the seat of your mom’s couch. We realize that life is for the living and America is the land where opportunity is at every runway. With that being said meet a powerful figure in aviation perhaps the Amelia Earhart of our great book. Perhaps a professional who can teach the youth of America how precious life really is and how quickly a fleeting moment of opportunity can pass you by. Meet nationally recognized aviator and educator Mary A. Mercker. Here at Remington after 60,000 biographies written to date it has become crystal clear that courage and career success certainly go hand in hand. It has become clearly evident that in a man’s world certain women were trailblazers and lead the way for women in all industries. Here at Remington it has become apparent that professionals like Mary may have soared through the sky. But truthfully her course in life had much more to do with the direction of mankind. Today after over 60 plus years of flying Mary is still going strong. She heads up her flying school and is the pride of all aviators and the pride of Tucson, Arizona. After a short interview with Mrs. Mercker we found an upbeat positive thinker with a real hatred for stereotypes. We found a powerful figure of a professional who certainly never enjoyed 2nd place especially when it came to gender. Mary from a young age never let a little fog ruin her day. She pulled her belts tight and attacked life with a tenacious smile and the ability to take on the wind. At this point today here at Remington in our latest book Inspiring the Youth of America
our goal was a simple one. We set out to ignite the passion in the hearts of every child in America to reach for the sky. Undoubtedly in the case of Mary Mercker our objective became much like a cloudless day with visibility clear to the horizon. We offer Mary our highest honor and welcome her inclusion.

Bio:
Here at Remington as we publish our latest book commonly known as, Inspiring the Youth of America,
we reflect on so many years of depicting the lives of successful professionals around the world. We pride ourselves in captivating our audience and encouraging them to think with a broad scope of curiosity. We pride ourselves in igniting a passion and perhaps restoring the hopes and dreams of a young American who lost his or her way in the complexity of our society. With that being said today many years later nothing has changed. We forge ahead in amazement of what these professionals have accomplished with their lives. We forge ahead and discover so much more than a professional with a career. We commonly use words like mentor and visionary. We use words like persistence and tenacious. We use words like innovator and collaborator. Well today we break out a word seldom used and perhaps should be used much more often. A word that describes the discovery of a frontier. A word that makes us realize the beauty of our planet and the many mysteries that have yet to unfold. Today we recognize a pioneer in ecology and botany. Today we honor nationally revered researcher biologist and educator, Dr. L.K. Thomas Jr. Yes, pioneer a word certainly not used enough in our book and undoubtedly today is a good day to start. They say that space is our final frontier well step out into uncharted territory with Dr. Thomas as your guide and you will be in for a wonderful and captivating surprise. Dr. Thomas entrusted by our highest authorities in government spent 50 years venturing out into our national parks to unearth the secrets of our exotic plant life. His mission was very clear. Explore the use of our plant life for scientific research and discover the possible dangers or resources that might affect our lives as a species on this planet. Attending the finest schools and becoming a ranger, Dr. Thomas studied the genetics and the evolution. He studied the chemistry and damage caused by non-native invaders and organisms and the long term effects on our health. He published papers and lectured in conferences. Lindsey attacked the problems head on and worked with unusual plant life such as Hedera Helix and Iris Pseudoceros. Highly awarded Dr. Thomas proved that our ecosystems were much more complex than previously known. He proved that our national parks perhaps held the key to adapting to life on other planets. Dr. Thomas pioneered new concepts on how to study exotic plants and how to use them to our benefit. He studied in depth the effects of animal and various fungi. In the end we at Remington are well aware that today we certainly have taken bold new steps into a frontier previously thought to be understood. Undoubtedly as we look to the stars its professionals like Dr. Thomas who make us realize that perhaps we should take a closer look at our own planet before reaching out to the heaven. Perhaps knowing what to look for out there requires a little more understanding of where we are now. On that note we thank Dr. Thomas for representing for us the possibilities of the unknown and for opening our eyes to the truth about Mother Nature. Today we proudly offer him our highest honor and welcome his inclusion.

Bio:
Here at Remington after 60,000 biographies written to date, perhaps our strongest message to the youth of America and other professional is not where to pursue a rewarding career but how. After so much time and effort perhaps it’s not what you do but more so how far you are willing to go to achieve it. Maybe in the end it seems our real message to others is that life must be fully lived and all the rewards in life are only the aftermath of a diligent effort to make every moment count. With that being said today we offer a true example of a professional who enlightened every darkened corner of life and filled every heart with a joyous occasion of symphonic and majestic beauty, internationally respected Music Director, Educator Elizabeth Grieger Wiegand. Elizabeth has certainly struck every note when it comes to a fully lived life. Touring Europe Elizabeth plays several instruments. She works with children around the world and today inspires thousands as she travels to churches around our nation as an organist. Elizabeth has been featured in multiple books and media. She has worked on recordings as well as being highly recognized as a composer. Elizabeth has been awarded on multiple levels of government and corporate America. From George Bush to Lee Iacocca, Elizabeth made her way to the hearts of millions. Elizabeth speaks out on many levels of environmental protection. She works to raise money for various charities and most notable received recognition for her work with cystic fibrosis. As educator of the year Elizabeth made mentorship a big part of her life with over 8,000 volunteer hours at Franciscan Health St. Anthony Michigan City. Undoubtedly her community has been foremost on her mind. In the end we at Remington certainly are overwhelmed at the very least of this dynamo of humanitarian contribution. We truly admit that our brief description of this whirlwind life of song, travel and genuine human compassion towards others falls far short of the total package. But as we said perhaps Elizabeth offers much more than an incredible list of credentials and achievement. Maybe she represents the ultimate message of commitment and dedication. Maybe it’s not what she does but how she does it. Elizabeth most certainly does everything 110%. She goes all out all the time in everything she does. As far as we are concerned here at Remington, Elizabeth has offered all of us a priceless message that we should carry with our journey throughout life everyday. We offer her our highest honor, we thank her for her participation and we welcome her inclusion.

Here at Remington we pride ourselves in having the ability and the privilege of inspiring students, children and other aspiring professionals. We realize that meeting a deadline, keeping a promise and being loyal to our community are all synonymous with success. We realize that no one gets to the top if their main concern is a time clock. We realize that unleashing your creativity and your spirit of conviction is the foundation that brilliance is born in any field. Today we at Remington are well aware of the privilege we bare and our responsibility to voice the achievements of this one professional, prominent and nationally respected construction and design executive Thomas Frank. Simply put Thomas put his best foot forward over 60 years ago. The end result is an enormous achievement of difficult description. Truthfully multiple awards and credentials fall far short of who Thomas is and how his professionalism has represented our nation. Thomas has walked the evolution of textile design through it’s infancy. From computer graphics to complicated software. From 1962 and before Thomas witnessed a moment in history that changed life as we know it. Thomas embraced himself with the practical concerns of architecture, energy use and never ignored children’s needs or the pursuit of form and function. Thomas spent a lifetime fixing a problem well before it occurred. As we said we at Remington have a privilege. We proudly exercise that privilege by recognizing a Utah mountain of professional accomplishment. We offer him our highest honor and we welcome his inclusion.

Bio: Here at Remington, we often wonder what qualities to speak about when writing a biography to inspire the youth of America. It’s easy to talk about affiliations or published works. It’s easy to talk about academics or credentials, but today we at Remington wish to point out a quality seldom recognized and rarely used. Today, we recognize wisdom
as a rare gift that comes with patience and preparation. Today we recognize nationally respected Estate Planner, Hartman Axley. They say that King Solomon was the the wisest man in the land. Well today in the 21st century, it certainly takes vast wisdom to prepare for the difficulties in a complex society. Hartman for over 50 years, brought order and practicality to the chaos of family departure and thereafter. Hartman built his career on loyalty and trust. He built his career on level-headed thinking and in-depth knowledge of complicated finances accompanied by a real sense of humanity. Today, we at Remington seek out the ultimate biography and priceless lesson. Today, we found it and the strong heartbeat that great communities are built on. Here at Remington as we publish our great book commonly known as Inspiring the Youth of America
we reflect on all the wonderful artists we have recognized over so many years. After thousands of biographies we reflect on the virtues and qualities that each one of them offered us as guidance. We realize that having the skill and the vision to create beauty was only small part of what was really being exhibited. We realized that color, light and shadow was only at the surface and if you gazed a little longer what you find is a host of other aspects that perhaps captivate us in a way that only the best artists can make happen. With that being said today we recognize a professional who certainly mixed color with deep emotion. She mixed color with deep longing or sometimes yearning. She mixed color with thought and indecision. She mixed color with taste, smell and sound. She mixed color with desire and romance. Today, here at Remington we rejoice the accomplishments of an artist who inspired all of us to release the mechanical part of creation and embrace the emotional first and foremost. With that today we recognize nationally revered artist Irene M. Ade. Awarded the Tiffany Award Irene steps out of the conventional circle of common art. She touched on all senses and gave us a taste and true meaning of a internal conflict. Irene mastered the art of captivation by giving us a window into the soul through the eyes of her subjects. She mastered the grace and the subtleties. She mastered the loneliness and the sorrow. She mastered the vulnerability and the innocence. Yes, Irene offered us her art. In the end we realize that we as her admirers and her students came away with so much more than a lesson on how to mix colors. Irene built us a platform that unleashed our minds and forever shall we be grateful. Here at Remington today we respectfully include Irene in our masterpiece of literature. We offer her our highest honor and welcome her inclusion.

Here at Remington as we publish our latest book commonly known as Inspiring the Youth of America,
we define our own existence as a group of concerned Americans with an opportunity to build a better America. We define our existence as a group of seekers. Seekers willing to pound the pavement and grind out the hours on the phone. We define ourselves as a tenacious bunch willing to sacrifice it all just for that one glimmer of guidance in a biography hidden from the masses. Undoubtedly this commitment comes with a huge responsibility to our members and our readers. This book comes at a huge cost where dignity and integrity govern our objective and our reputation. In the end we define ourselves as those who seek out the amazing stories that makes us gasp for air and shake our heads in disbelief. Well fortunately today we struck again. As we recognize a professional who certainly depicts the amazing life. A professional who we dare not categorize or accumulate accomplishments. A professional who touched on all 4 corners of success, mentorship, vision, inspiration and creativity. A professional who built a monument to color and contrast and then guided others to walk in his footstep. A professional who broke down the barriers of worldwide cultures and broke down the barriers of conventional modern art. Today we proudly recognize artist, author, educator and expert in historical artistry, Mr. Gerald F. Brommer. Gerald is a professional who looks at art as team player. He spent untold hours publishing his books and voicing the hidden secrets that others would surely keep to themselves. Gerald is a professional who understood the past and built on it as a platform. He mastered the art of shadow and depicted the mysterious side of nature. Gerald gave us the wind, the rain, and the ocean mist. He gave us the beauty of a quiet country setting and the tranquility of a garden yielded by mankind. Gerald walked us by the seasides where only the rocks keep us from safety. Yes as we said earlier, we as a company seek out the amazing lives of those in our book. In this case we found a professional who amassed an amazing life undoubtedly documentable. We found a professional who spent over sixty years playing in a field of antiquity. A field with no border and a professional who embellished the very essence of a moment that removes us from traffic jams, bills, and skyscrapers. A moment that simplifies our existence and reminds us of the rare beauty we surely take for granted everyday. With that being said, we encourage all of our readers to pick up a must have book of an artist who paved the way for all of us. Today we proudly induct Mr. Gerald F. Brommer in our book of pioneers. Here at Remington as we publish our latest book commonly known as Inspiring the Youth Of America
. It is important to know that the professionals who witnessed World War II hold a unique presence among us as a species and a society. These professionals undoubtedly view life much differently than many of us and we can only imagine the fear they might have experienced in a time when global domination was a very real threat. Its important to know that each passing day these professionals become more and more rare and unfortunately their experience and precious advice also disappears forever. With that being said as the youth of America read this book we can only hope that these lessons of life get carried on in the pages of this incredible Book of Humanitarians. We can only hope that the professionals in this book have the vision to realize how important this book really is. We can only hope that before any world leader commits to deploying forces he fully understands the price. Well on that note today we proudly recognize a professional who certainly knows the price of war perhaps all too well, a professional who lived a world at war with the clash of ideologies with only Human flesh that stood in between. Here at Remington today we proudly introduce Dr. Arthur W. Buswell. We at Remington undoubtedly will never glorify war, but we do glorify the advice that a professional like Arthur can offer. We glorify the mentorship and the courage. We glorify the right to defend our Constitution and we glorify the military professionals who are well aware that certain wounds don’t heal. Dr. Buswell has given the youth of America a resume that perhaps is unequaled. A resume that seems more like science fiction that fact. From the jungles of Vietnam, Arthur has traveled the world. He has witnessed the reality of dictatorships, Cold War, nuclear annihilation, biological warfare, political scandal. He witnessed and pioneered medical advancements that came at the price of millions of lives. Dr. Buswell sprung from the pride of the United States Army accompanied the 1st Armored Division. Arthur held a unique perspective in health care. He had that 1-2 punch of military combat experience along with the practical experience of being chief of staff in surgery at local Hospitals. His resume reads as almost 2 or more people with distinction in his community and abroad. It has become very clear to us here at Remington that Arthur offers a priceless view of the pain of human evolution. He offers us a priceless view of why war should never be an option. Dr. Buswell strengthened our faith in humanity and strengthened our will to have the patience to seek out diplomacy before destruction. Today we proudly acknowledge that this short essay certainly does not come close describing the journey this one professional has traveled. But we do agree that the message Arthur offers all of us is what really matters. We agree that in the end if Arthurs life has meaning then that meaning comes through in the fight for world peace. On that note today we officially and respectfully offer Dr. Arthur W. Buswell our Liberty Award for 2015 and we welcome his inclusion.
