About this ebook

God whispers in the everyday moments of our lives.
Often, we are too busy to hear Him.
We must be intentionally still to hear the divine symphony that is all around us.
You will be amazed at the things you will hear when you take the time to listen.

Whispers in Verse is the companion book to Whispers of His Movement.
God has placed the psalms in His Word.
They are the prayers and pleas of a people who are desperate to be near God.
Whispers in Verse listens to the poetry that is all around us.
When we listen, we will inevitably hear Him.

Whispers in Verse - Gina Gallagher

    Whispers

    in Verse for

    Women

    A Woman Is A Mirror

    A woman is a mirror

    Your Holiness shines through.

She is the Hands and Feet of Christ

In all that she will do.

    She exudes humility

    Because of who You are.

Amazed that You would choose to use

    A small imperfect jar.

    She carries life inside her

Then gives it back to You.

    Aware Your loving kindness

All her days, will carry through.

She is the heart inside her home.

    She serves her family well.

    Small things are Holy Moments

When Your Glory they will tell.

She is a wife and mother.

    She’s a sister and a friend.

She is the daughter of the King.

    Till her Bridegroom comes again.

Her name’s engraved upon Your palm

Beneath the shadow of Your wings.

Your joy will always be her strength

To You her heart will sing.

    Everyone needs a mirror.

Eyes that we can look into and see ourselves reflected back.

A spouse or a parent may be our mirror.

No matter how sincere they are, they are still imperfect just like we are.

The only Perfect Mirror that shows us who we really are is Jesus.

When we look to Him, we are able to see ourselves clearly.

Sometimes we don’t like what we see.

King Uzziah was undone when he saw the glory of God. (Isaiah 6:5)

Job put his hand over his mouth when he was confronted with God’s majestic questions. (Job 40:4,5)

Those who look to Him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. (Psalm 35:4)

God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God. (2 Corinthians 5:21)

When we trust in Jesus for our salvation, His righteousness is imputed to us.

Clothed in Jesus’ righteousness, we are acceptable to God the Father.

Now when we look into God’s mirror we see a beautiful reflection.

    Only A Mother

Only a mother knows the tear, the silent one that falls,

Only a mother knows for sure, the reason for it all.

Only a mother knows the pain and hand and hand the joy.

Only a mother knows the kiss of her precious little boy.

Only a mother knows how to tie the bows in her little girl’s hair.

Only a mother knows where to look for that long lost teddy bear.

Only a mother knows the excuses, she’s heard them all before.

Only a mother saves all their cards that say what they love her for.

Only a mother knows how to give till she runs out of things to give.

Only a mother knows that in fact, it’s the only way to live.

Only a mother knows how to juggle a myriad of things.

Only a mother knows the song that only a mother can sing.

Only a mother will put herself last and let the others be first.

Only a mother knows just the right things to quench that unquenchable thirst.

Only a mother can kiss what hurts if only for all of their years.

Only a mother knows what to say to lessen all of their fears.

Only a mother knows that one day she will watch them walk away.

Only a mother knows that in truth she really wants them to stay.

Only a mother knows that her love was so strong and so utterly real.

Only a mother knows that to stand you must be willing to kneel.

Only a mother knows that she gained much more than she ever had lost.

Only a mother would do it again even when counting the cost.

Only a mother can take all the pain and all of the joy and the fears.

Only a mother tucks them away, the gift of those priceless years.

She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also and he praises her; Many women do noble things but you surpass them all. Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. (Proverbs 31:25-30)

    Kitchen Tables

My kitchen table has stories to tell.

    Conversations to share.

The laughing and crying, the games that were played.

All the love that enveloped us there.

My kitchen table saw many a meal.

The benches around it all filled.

Birthdays and holidays, no special reason,

The cleanups, the milk that was spilled.

My kitchen table serves hot cups of tea,

So that friends can sit down and talk.

Hearts are shared, as we lay them out there,

Then discussed as we go for a walk.

My kitchen table has seen artwork galore,

    Many Play-Doh creations begun.

Coloring, painting, and crafts that were made.

    Homework, until it gets done.

My kitchen table has served us so well.

It welcomes and beckons and calls.

It’s the hub of our house, the place that we meet.

Our story within these four walls.

My kitchen table has sat many guests,

Who stop by and visit us there.

It has marks, nicks, and dings from so many things.

It has wiped away many a tear.

My kitchen table has heard many hearts.

It has mended a few of them, too.

It has heard many prayers from the ones who sit there.

When you’re not sure of what you should do.

My kitchen table has had God’s Word upon it.

    Being studied, read, and discussed.

It is holy ground when our family’s around.

It is really the story of us.

I had a friend and her son over for tea.

He was able to play with all of my children’s toys.

Those are my favorite kinds of mornings.

Opening up a time for hearts to speak.

In this day of rushing around, it is nice to sit and be still with another.

It is wonderful to be heard.

    It is lovely to be
