Beulla where are you! I’m coming grandma. With a gentle voice grandma asked come read for us a psalmpie (psalm). Come we read together I said. Psalm 100 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. 2 Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. 3 Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that had made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. 4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name 5 For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endured to all generations. Come let us pray grandma Dina said, and started a prayer, when grandma was finished all of us in the house prayed together Our Father, who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy Name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen. When Our Father Prayer is finished we would say our good nights from the elders to the youngest. When I was just a little girl I’ve witness my grandmothers faith in God. Grandma Dina would stand up in the morning and went to the sitting room to spend time in God’s presence, when grandma was finished she would come out and filled every room with the presence of love. Grandma love us dearly and therefore she taught us in the word of truth. She used to sit in the kitchen with her guitar playing gospel songs, oh how I love and cherish those moments. These are the moments that made me hold on to the Truth. Grandma would play the guitar than all of us would sing as if we were singing in front of a crowd. Now we used to stay on the Church grounds on the farm. Whenever there was a church service it was compulsory for the whole household to attend the service. From where we were staying was another church, this church was opened by Mr Dannie Meiring. Every Sunday there was a service held by different preachers. Mr Dannie would drive throughout the whole farm of Warmbad with his own bakkie and pucked up every person that was on his way to their way to attend the church service. We were super exited to go to church because than we have time to spend in God’s presence, and listen to the choirs that were singing, it was always lovely to have different preachers from all over. One time Mr Dannie had mission workers who stayed for some time to teach us more about God’s word. Here we learned all the books of the bible. And till this day I know them by heart. Than grandma was also an elder of the church VGK Church. We’ve witness grandma serve the Lord by being faithful to her position as elder of the Church. Grandma held functions as to her service for the Church. On a Friday or Saturday evening Grandma would held a function what we used to call song evening. At these functions different choirs would sing all the beautiful gospel songs. How we enjoyed every moment of the choirs singing. Words was extremely important in grandma’s home, therefore she would strictly remind us how to use our words. Grandma teaches us that the Name of God is mighty and powerful, therefore we shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain. Now whenever one of us would take the Lord’s name in vain, grandma would call upon our cousin Jaco and told him to catch us. Than grandma used to said how did I teaches you not to take the Lords name in vain now you going to have some pepper. This is the point where she would take quite a lot of pepper and put it in your mouths. Should it be that you took something without permission, you will have some of the prick of a needle on your hands. Oh how thankful I am for my chastening this made me who I become today. Grandma taught all of us in Gods word, which is the only way and the right way. I remember one spesific Sunday at church, me and my friend Magrietta was sitting in the middle row, as we were kicking our small little legs while sitting on the chairs playing and laughing, I heard my grandma said shhhhhh she looked at me with big eye, and shacked her head once. Little did I know I am about to receive a really big surprise after the service. As soon as the church service was finished grandma took me and spanked me in front of everybody. Well I remember it clearly to this day. And this made me sit quite in the church from that day. While we were still very young grandma used to give us small tasking’s to do. Me and my cousin Rizonia was responsible for the washing of the dishes, therefore every evening before we held our evening time in God"s presence we had to clean the dishes, grandma used to say anything can happened through the night than things are not in place at our home. Till this day today I will clean dishes were ever I come. Now our grandfather name was Abraham, he was a very gentle and quite man. He never speak much and when he used to have his food he would spend a long time eating, when he was finished he would say thank you for every person in the house. Sometimes when Grandpa Abraham had something to drink he would talk a lot. Grandma and grandpa had 10 children; they are 2 sons and 8 daughters. All of her children were raised in the presence of God. Therefore she raised her grandchildren that live with her also in God’s word. This is the greatest investment on the earth, to be raised in the presence of God’s Word. I call my grandma a faith giant. We all witness her being a faithful servant for the Lord. My cousin Jaco used to call my grandmother Dina (Dienskneg). My grandmother told us how she and her mother was powerfully saved at the same night at a church service when she was only ten years old. Well my grandmother has been a faithfull servant to this day and she is now 84 years old. To God all the glory for giving to us a loving kind Grandmother who loved not only her family but all the people who lived on the farm. Grandma Dina you have touched all of us in such a special way. You have trained all of us in the way we should go and, Gods word never depart from us. Grandmother had a special gift from God. On the farm where we used to live is far from a hospital. Therefore God anointed our grandmother to help the woman on the farm when they were in labour. With grandmas help over 600 children was born without the help of any doctors at that moment. Our grandma Dina was anointed to heal and help lots of people on the farm. God used our Grandmother in a powerful way, to influence all of us and so many people in the love of God. Our grandma turned 83 years on 2018-05-10 still faithful to God. Psalm 128 Blessings for those who fear God: Blessed is every one that feareth the Lord; that walk in his ways, for thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee. 3 Thy shalt be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table. 4 Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the Lord. 5 The Lord shall bless thee out of Zion: and thou shalt see the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life. 6 Yea, thou shalt see thy children’’s children, and peace upon Israel. I want to encourage every parent to make it their full responsibility to raise their children in the presence of The Living God. Put God first and your child will have victory over every situation. Proverbs : Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. This truth is powerful and helped me in the dark moments of my life. Throughout all the challenges that I faced I remembered how grandmother raised us up in God’s word. The word of God helped me to make wise decisions in every area of my life, leading me to be victory over every attack that the devil attempted to plan on my life. My parents separated when I and my two sisters were very small and therefore we went to live on the farm with my grandmother. This was an attack of the devil on my parents’ marriage. Now as we grow up I notice that my eldest sister named Nathasa was mentally and physically disabled, my youngest sister named Naomi was mentally disturbed. Growing up I felt an extreme sadness conserning them, I would go to the bed where my sister Nathasa laid than I would play a song with the guitar and sing for her till she started to laugh out loud. My heart’s desire was for her to speak, and be healed of the sickness. I’ve watch her go through her struggle, and this made such a deep wound in my soul. My youngest sister Naomi was mentally disturb and had to go to a special school in Town called Oudtshoorn. When we were small we used to dress the same. Naomi always uses to do everything that I do. Before our bedtime I would sit with her on my lap till she fell asleep. Our parent named Nicolaas and Wilma separated not because they wanted to, but because the devil came to steal and kill and destroy their marriage. I honour and love my parents because, I know that the separation was not a decision made by them, but the works of the devil. These words I will never forget: Beulla always remember your name is your honour on your honour is your character. Don’t let your name run in front of you in a bad way, but always remember how you were raised. Yes Grandma I replied. The Monday Morning when I left grandma’s house, to go and attend school in town called Calitzdorp. As I stand on the hitch hiking spot I notice the vehicle that used to transport the newspapers was on its way. They will see me I said to myself, I am dressed in my school uniform they will stop and give me a lift. The vehicle driving on such a high speed came to a standstill and gave me a lift to town. On my arrival in town as I walk to my new school named Exelsior, I said good to everybody that I passed, right there I noticed everyone responded back, Good Morning. All I could think of was the words of Grandma: Beulla the day when you step out of this house I don’t want to be ashamed, for the moment when you put your feet underneath someone else’s table I don’t want to be ashamed. I felt that morning that I am fully prepared to take on the world. Grandma laid the foundation in my life perfectly. The foundation of the powerful word of God. As I become a teenager going to high school, I started to feel ashamed of my background and never want to speak about my sisters and family. This is the point were Gods reveal Himself to me in so many ways, the only thing was I could not realise the power of Gods word at that stage.

PARENTS PART IN THE TEACHING OF GODS WORD:

Parents/grandparents/ guardian are responsible for the teaching of God’s word. By doing so you obey God’’s word, and therefore have the assurance that NO matter what may happened in your childs life they will be victorious, and walk in the perfect plan God had for their lifes. The most important part of your child’s life start at home, therefor parents are either going to prepare their children to follow Christ or to follow the world. If we don’t teach our children to follow Christ, the world will teach them not to. Children trust their parents, therefore the early stages of their lives will always be part of their lifes. Enjoy every moment with them while teaching them about the Truth of Jesus Christ. These teachings will also bring strength to you. And you will never feel tired, because the presence of the Lord is our joy, and the joy of the Lord is our strength. Therefore not only will your child be fed with the precious word of God, but you will be filled with Gods love, in leading them how to love. Deuteronomy 6:5-9 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy might. 6 And these words which I commanded thee this day, shall be in thine heart: 7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. 8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shalt be as frontlets between thine eyes. 9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates. Proverbs 23:13-15 Withold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die. 14 Thou shall beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell. 15 My son if thine heart be wise, heart shall rejoice, even
