About this ebook

One day the Holy Spirit began speaking and I began writing. I wrote almost 200 pages before I stopped that day. The more He spoke, the more excited I became. If you have not realized by now, I have an imagination that can keep going on and on; but it blesses me so much, the things He shows me. The crazy thing is, not just things for me but for others and I get just or even more excited for them than me! So when the title of the book came into my spirit I hollered out shut your mouth, shut your mouth because I was excited! The phrase is my favorite when I am so excited that words cannot express how I feel, those three little words says it all

E. F. Grey

Ms. Grey is originally from the British West Indies, however, has been residing in the United States of America for most of her life. Her adult life consist of many travels and various experiences which brought her to the place of writing this particular book based on what she realized is lacking in many relationships. As she listened intently to other females throughout her travels or just through moments of sharing noticed a common thread and that being a genuine friendship in which to share life events even if it only for a short while. Ms. Grey herself has longed for such a relationship and wondered what that type of relationship would entail. This is when she began seeking the Lord for answers to her many questions. One of Ms. Grey’s passions is the fact that teaching is a part of everyday living and should be seized in each opportunity offered. Jesus used a simple method to teach His disciples not only about Him but also encouraged them to be confident in whom they were. Therefore, when we make it a point to fulfill “Go ye therefore and teach all nations…”, we must do so with the simplicity and love following the example Christ left. You will notice the book does not call the main two women by name. Ms. Grey believes with leaving them nameless, allows anyone to visualize a personal interaction with friend/love ones making it a more personal experience as they read through the book. The book was meant to be simple, fun, but most importantly, taking time to share with those who hold significance to us. I believe Ms. Grey has accomplished just that as you will find out in some of the phrases used.

    Dedication

This book is dedicated to my daughter LaVonna aka Shyne who incited me to becoming a better woman and eventually a better mother. When I look at the young woman she has become I could only thank God. The way she was and still is unafraid to open up and allow others to enter her life without any inhibitions has always been remarkable to me. I used my imagination and visualize how the conversations within her friendships evolved. To my beautiful daughter, thank you for always staying true to who you are and knowing when to let some go and keep the ones that are of like minds and spirit. I wrote this to you my daughter . . .

    With all my love,

    Mom

    FAMILY

A family is like a baseball.

    There is a covering that keeps the ball together; but underneath the covering, there are other layers intertwined together to make it strong;

As the ball gets hit during the many games played, parts of the inside begin to loosen.

No matter how loose the inside becomes, as long as the covering on the outside remains intact; the strength of the ball is safe.

Just like the covering on the baseball lends support to inside of the ball, so does a family to each other.

    Keep your cover intact!

Let me call them to make sure they made it to work… ladies I was just about to call you. Hi Missie, we all are at work and on time. Good; have a great day! Hugs and kisses ***

Good morning Missie, here is your mail; thank you Roy; have a good day—-—

Wow! That’s more than last time! Okay, let me get my calculator to deduct tithes, offering, love gifts to my children and grandson so I can see how much I have left to do something for me. You know what Daddy, You are Awesome!!! I give You praise and I thank You for an unexpected blessing at this time because with all of the changes happening on the job, no one expected a bonus much less the amount they gave me; so thank You for touching the heart of the king according to Your Word that says for the heart of the king is in the hands of the Lord and it is He that turns it which way; therefore, Daddy, all my thanks and all the glory is Yours ***

Missie are you alright? Of course Mandy; why? Because you had your hands straight up in the air and tears rolling down your face; what you mean why? Oh Mandy, I was simply giving my Heavenly Father what is due Him and that is thanksgiving, praise, and worship for Who He is and what He is to me. What can I help you with Mandy? Oh I did not want anything; I was passing by and saw you… I should have known from your posture and the fact that we call you thumper, she said with a smile. We call you that because the whole office would be quiet then all of a sudden we will hear this tapping. Mandy I know you may not understand me but it is okay but my life belong to God so no matter where I am and what is going on I find ways of giving Him glory in all things. Missie you don’t have to explain, we have watched you and there is certainly something different about you. Some may not like you, well, not necessarily like but I would say they are jealous. Anyway, continue on and we will talk about a possible new client I want you to meet. Thank you Mandy—-—

Hey mom. Hi there; how’s my daughter? All is okay mom; you alright? Yes honey I am fine. I didn’t want anything mom just wanted to see what you were doing Saturday so we can hang out then instead of our normal Sunday afternoon get together. I’ll take you to Golden Coral since you like their steaks. Honey, do me a favor and call your brothers to see if they are available too and it’s on me. Find out what time is good for them; you can leave me a voicemail message. Honey, remember Rashard goes to the barber every Saturday around 12:30 so it will have to be around 2:30 or later. I’ll pick you up; thank you for doing this for me and will talk with you later; love you!

Good morning Sam, please ask your wife to forgive me for calling you but I need some advice and you came to mind. Is it possible to meet at the restaurant? I don’t want to interfere with the rush time so you will have to offer a meeting time… okay thank you Sam and will see you at 3 p.m.; bye—-—

Good morning Margaret, is he is his office? What’s with the negative facial expression Margaret? Well, he is always putting stuff on me to do and leaving… Margaret, have you ever considered that maybe he trust you and possibly preparing you in case another position opens up, you will be qualified due to the experience gained from the tasks he has given you? It’s a matter of changing your perspective. Anyway, I have a couple of meetings outside of the office and will be leaving within the hour; more than likely will not be back but I am reachable by phone. Thank you Margaret ***

Hi honey did you get a hold of your other brother? He will be back in town by Friday mom; good and I’m glad Michael will be in time to join us. So I will see you all on Saturday at 3:30. Oh, am I still picking you up? Okay then I will see you at 2:30 p.m. Love you honey! ***

Good afternoon Thomas, thank you for getting the money ready for me. Missie it was my pleasure; your children and grandson are going to be surprise! Thomas it has been a long time since I have been able to be a blessing to them. The bonus was tremendous blessing that has allowed me to pay off at least 4 bills in full, keep a cushion for emergencies as well as be a blessing to others aside from my tithes of which I paid online. Well Thomas, I won’t’ take up anymore of your time; I have to get to another meeting; thank you again; have a great rest of the day. ***

Hopefully traffic will not be too bad heading to the restaurant. You know Daddy, I am eternally grateful for the people You have been strategically placed in my life now since I have learned to allow You full control of where I go, what I do, and even how I behave. Not saying it is always easy and I do not get scared sometimes, but then You will gently remind me about a previous situation that I was fearful in but when I let go of it and gave it to You, all work out and I was at peace. I guess what I am saying Daddy is I appreciate Who You are to me and never want to take You for granted ever again – the times I did, please forgive me!!! There are times when I try to imagine my life now without You in it and I cannot; so many things I did not understand but all You kept telling me was to let go – I’m so glad I did — thank You!!!

Let me park with my back to the building while I get myself together before meeting Sam…

Welcome to Olive Garden… Hi Missie! Oh, hi Sam; thank you for meeting with me today on such short notice. How could I say no to such a beautiful classy lady? Please have a seat; thank you Sam; you are very kind — Missie before we begin would you like something to eat or drink? Have you had anything to eat today? Oh Sam, I have been going from one thing to another without even thinking about eating; you know, I am not even hungry but I will take some coffee please — Missie, I’ll be right back – a few moments later a server brought a bowl of soup with a basket of two rolls to me saying they were from Sam. Sorry Missie I had to take a phone call regarding an order the manager placed but never mind that; how was the soup he asked smiling. It was just what I needed, thank you again Sam. You are most welcome my lady. You know, when you arrived it appeared as if you had been crying and thought some soup would be quite calming. Well Sam, on the way over here I was just thanking God for my relationship with Him and how He has developed me, taken so very good care of me; forgiven me of taking Him for granted; all of the doors He has opened; the people He has strategically placed in my life and all the many other blessings He has given me! As tears flood my face again, Sam is just sitting there with a huge smile on his face as he listens to me. Forgive me Sam, I must look a mess; please excuse me while I go to the restroom and get myself together…

Okay, let me see if I can get my thoughts together long enough to explain why I asked if you could meet with me. I received a bonus from my job today or at least the receipt of where they had direct deposited this amount of money in my account two days ago. Now of course, I immediately went on line and paid my tithes and gave my offering; then I contacted my bank had them draft three cashier checks, one for each of my children and I had $500 set aside for my grandson. I just left the bank from picking them up and stopped to purchase four cards to give to them on Saturday when we meet for an early dinner. In any case, with the remaining money I thought about doing something for my friends and wanted to know your thoughts. Well Missie what did you have in mind? What I would really like to do is find a place where we can go for a long weekend, like a bed and breakfast type place. I would like it to be serene; maybe with a lake or a walk path. Just some place that is fun but yet quiet as well as relaxing. Now Missie you mentioned doing something for everyone else but what did you do for yourself with the money. Oh I paid off at least four bills and put aside some of it for a cushion. The most important thing to me after taking out what I wanted to give to my children is being a blessing to my friends. You know we have all gone through some things and it would just be nice to get away. I thought about getting away by myself but I really want to share it with them. It is not much but still would like to do something nice for them as well. What do you think about the idea Sam? Missie I think they are very fortunate to have you as a friend! Okay, let me think on it and give you a call tomorrow. Okay Sam, in the meantime I will search the internet to see what types of places are out there and start comparing prices. Now Sam, this is all I have to do this with so do you think I can really find a nice place for three days for this price? Don’t worry Missie, together we will come up with a nice place for the three days so you all can go away and get some much needed rest. So I will call you maybe tomorrow around, say 6:30 p.m. As you and your friends say hugs and kisses; yes, hugs and kissed as he smiled at me.

Hi Missie, I called your office but Margaret said you had already left for several meetings today and would not be back. Girl you okay? Call me when you get a minute…

Sorry Dre’A, I was on the phone checking my messages. Is everything alright, your message sounded as if something was wrong. No nothing
