The poems were a result of words used during their different conversations describing their life events which prompted the author to bring them alive through poems. This is a reflection of many lives, individual stories, and ones memories cherished each day.

As an Occupational therapist in private practice, Saraswathy, continues to utilize her knowledge and professional skills in providing training and education not only for the patients but their carers met. Health and wellness began to mould itself in a different way in practice. Further, as an adult literacy trainer, she saw these processes changing people’s lives. Through work done with a group of clients to improve their basic cognition, she prodded each one to delve themselves into formation of new words or search for lyrics. They were having fun! The next step had involved the use of art and poetry writing as complementary tools. These interactions began to expose her to new explorative learning facets. The recent work had involved a small group of homeless individuals desiring to read. Their basic requirements for survival often challenging them in many ways, was unable to crush the enthusiasm and love each one had nurtured within themselves. Thus, this priceless little gift was born as a form of learning!

THE WHITE DOVE

A s my eyes cast upon the lily blossom, mesmerized by its benevolence and beauty

Thoughts of the Creator, that we seem to call upon in total surrender and prayer

Nuances of perseverance, strength, and will coyly displayed by mankind

While nature unfurls her Blessings for everyone to dwell in

The white dove soars high bringing along good tidings

Tis’ time to reflect and ponder upon the one’s existence beyond!

This Easter brings sweet memories of Divine grace and harmony

Set upon our stages in life, while forming everlasting bonds

Just like a tender vine growing amidst Our Creator’s Garden, we each have a sublime role filled with love and compassion!

MEMORIES

S ometimes I wonder where memories hide themselves for numerous years as we mature and grow

Perhaps newborn acquaintances begin to simply fog our vision and thereby blur the true values placed amongst friendships and bondage blossoming as we meet people near and far.
