About this ebook

No matter how our families turn out, it is very different from what we wished it to be. No matter what problems we may face, we can find comfort in knowing that if we have done all we could the way God wants us to, even if all our human efforts did not work, God promises to provide us with the strength needed to endure.
I love my sons, and God is waiting for them to change. These are words weve written over the years of times passed of suffering and pain. May it bring us closer together.

Author

Alta Whiters-Carson

Alta Whiters-Carson was born in Shreport, LA. and moved to California when she was eight. After finishing school at Castlemont High, she enrolled in a writing class at Laney College. Over time, she married and had three sons. However, she did not continue to stay in California. Alta Whiters-Carson moved to Cairo, Georgia in 2001. Alta’s life was marred by the pain her mom suffered. She never wanted to repeat any of those mistakes, but since that was all she knew growing up, it influenced her to make a lot of the same mistakes. Her poems reflect those events of pain she suffered as a child as well as the events in her adult life that she inflicted on herself. “I’ve learned to enjoy life for what it is. A gift. A gift of love from God.” -Alta Whiters-Carson
