From Darkness into Light - Jennifer Lodico
You Say There Is No Heaven
You say there is no heaven
And it’s a simple minded myth;
And the concept of a hell here,
Religious fanatics scare us with.
But friend, I have a question;
And I’d like an answer true;
What if your theory’s wrong now
What are you gonna do?
So you can try and make excuses
For why you don’t believe;
But in your heart, deep down inside,
A conscience God did leave.
Now you can dull your conscience
And fill it up with lies;
But you can’t change the truth, no,
Although your fooled mind tries.
What if there are the flames that burn
With great intensity?
What if you happen to be wrong?
In hell you’ll spend eternity.
And everyone that you persuaded,
Will join you in the flames;
And all those that trusted in you,
Will point at you to blame.
What if it is the Christian,
Who found his risen Christ;
Has found the long sought answer,
To the questions of this life?
Oh, you say, there is no heaven,
And certainly no hell;
But, friend, I have to tell you,
You’re not thinking very well.
For evil cannot go unpunished,
Without a punishment;
And every evildoer,
Needs somewhere to be sent.
But just the same, the goodness,
When following God’s Son;
Needs to be rewarded
A place when life is done.
You can’t have one without the other.
For justice calls for the two;
If the Judge is indecisive,
Then what would people do?
So you see that God is holy
And His justice, it is fair;
And if He didn’t punish,
It would mean He didn’t care.
You’ve learned a warped perception,
Because sin has blinded you;
And now you try and vanquish
All conviction too.
Now can you still say there’s no heaven?
Can you see beyond the lies?
Because if you don’t believe here,
You’re in for a sad surprise.
Oh, Sinner!
You thought you’ve lived a good life,
Been the best that you could be;
But the Bible is quite clear now;
No one’s good, not even thee.
We all have fallen short;
Of God’s Holy Righteousness;
We all have come up empty;
And we’ve made our life a mess.
God did give His Commandments,
To Moses, called the Law;
And we have broken every one of them
Locked outside of Heaven’s door.
Yes, we are all considered guilty,
Condemned before a Holy God;
No way to fix the chasm,
Of the sinful life we trod.
Our hearts are desperately wicked,
They’re filthy from within;
There’s no way that you can clean them,
They’re tarnished by our sin.
Now people try to deny it;
They say that’s wrong, it cannot be;
Because their eyes are shut in darkness,
And their sins, they do not see.
So they drown themselves in sorrows,
By the bottle filled with wine;
And they try and dull their senses,
Leave sin’s notion all behind.
But the conscience was God given,
And it’s prick you cannot hide;
You can try to silence, dull it,
But it is only through a lie.
For the Bible says there’s coming,
God’s righteous Judgment Throne;
For once to die and then the Judgment,
And then hell will be your home.
Oh, Sinner won’t you listen,
Won’t you see your fallen state;
For time is growing short now;
Soon it will be, oh, too late!
The Lord did not leave us
With no hope for an escape;
For He sent His Son to save us;
If we’d look upon His face.
Oh, Sinner, Jesus came to us from heaven,
Came to die and in our place;
Has suffered for ours wicked hearts;
To save a fallen race.
If you would just accept Him
The perfect sacrifice He made;
When His blood poured out from heaven;
Through His blood that cleans and saves.
Oh, Sinner, there is coming
A violent, bloody day;
When the wrath of God from heaven,
Says no more will I wait.
His days of grace and mercy,
Are slowly passing by,
Today is the day of salvation;
Tomorrow you will die.
Oh, Sinner, don’t you feel,
The flames beneath your feet;
For soon you will be leaving;
Your destiny to meet.
Fall before your Lord now,
Repent for what you’ve done;
For light will chase the darkness,
And reveal to you the Son.
Don’t put off for tomorrow,
What should be done today;
For each passing moment,
Your life is slipping fast away.
Oh, Sinner, Jesus is so righteous,
And we’re so filled with sin;
So open up your heart now
And let Jesus dwell within.
Mother, I Will Meet You
Mother, I will meet you,
In the future, when I die;
I’ll be coming to see you and Jesus,
Up beyond the bluest skies.
But for now, I’m here without you,
And I miss you with all my heart;
And I wish I had known you better,
Wish I spent less time apart.
Mother, what were you thinking,
As I watched you slip away?
Could you see your Saviour, Jesus,
Holding out His hand that day?
Mother, did you go over,
Everything you ever lived;
And remember how He saved you,
And how for you, His life did give?
Mother, did you feel me holding
Your hand within my hand;
As you were crossing over the river,
To the Lord’s pure, promised land?
Mother, what did it feel like,
When you were taking your last breath?
Could you see your body being left behind,
As you went up to heaven’s cleft?
Mother, what is it like up there,
To walk along that road?
What does it feel like to walk,
Beside Jesus on streets of gold?
Mother, are you singing,
In the chorus of the saints?
Oh, what a pretty picture,
That music must surely paint!
Mother, did you cast,
Your crown at Jesus’ feet,
As you bowed and fell and worshiped
At the foot of His holy seat?
I cannot begin to comprehend,
What joy and bliss you feel;
In your brand new, heavenly home,
But I know it is for real.
So I await the day I’ll see you,
My dear mother and my friend;
When we’ll worship Him forever,
And our joy will never end.
Daddy, My Heart Is Broken
Daddy, you didn’t tell me
Of Jesus and His blood;
You raised me through your haze
Of life’s ill sinful flood.
Daddy, how could you show me?
For you didn’t even know;
And now my heart is broken
To think, Where did you go?
’Cause Daddy, you didn’t know Him,
The Father that I do;
And Daddy my heart is broken
’Cause I wish you’d known Him too.
My only consolation
Is that the Lord above is just;
And if you went to hell then,
I know that’s what you must.
But Daddy I have sorrow,
When I think about your face;
In pain; in flames of torment;
Cut off from Jesus’
