But not just that, this body has a heart beat, a very very vague heart beat. So with that they rush him to the nearest Hospital. While inside the Ambulance they frantically try to save his life, but to no avail for upon arrival at the Hospital he’s pronounced D.O.A. (Dead On Arrival). At the Hospital they go thru his personal belongings and come across an organs donors card. It must have been a secret he kept because if it were known, his reputation would have been questioned. So with that they donate as requested, two main organs of his still function able to an Organs Donor University. One of the organs that are to be donated is his heart; the other organ is his brain. They are to be used for someone that would be in need of such organs. As for the heart, a little boy of ten years is to get that particular organ. His name Yassir Shamir. So they fly via helicopter (Med Flight) to the Hospital that will perform the heart transplant. Now the other individual, who’s in need of the other organ, happens to be a newborn baby girl. She’s to receive the brain. But due to her size and her condition, plus her age, her situation is a lot more difficult than Yassirs’. One, she’s born brain-dead Two, a brain transplant has never been done before, so her transplant has to be postponed until a later date. As for her name, she has none, yet.

    THE BIRTH OF DIAMOND

Push push The doctor says to the woman upon the operating table.

Ow it hurts, Shouts the woman.

We’re almost there I can see the head, now once more, push,

    Ah!

The doctor spanked her on her behind, she didn’t cry nor whine. The doctor looked at this most unusual but gorgeous baby with bewilderment, thinking to himself,

Out of all my years of delivering babies, never, well maybe once have I experienced such a baby that didn’t cry to the slap on the bottom by a doctor. Except now he remembered, Mrs. Jordans’ baby. That baby was born brain dead, had to be put to sleep forever, rest his little soul. Can I be reliving a de ja vu?" He thought.

Nurse, clean Ms. Murphys’ baby up. And when you get through you can show her newborn baby girl, He said.

Brain dead though, Were his thoughts.

A mind is a terrible thing to waste, His thoughts continued.

Doc, is anything wrong, is my baby okay? Asked Ms. Murphy.

Now now, Ms. Murphy, everything is just fine, you get some rest you’re going to need your strength, I’ll be back to check on you in a little while. Oh, by the way, congratulations, it’s a girl,

At which time Robin, the nurse brings in the newborn baby girl.

Here we are Ms. Murphy all cleaned up, your new bundle of joy, Said the nurse with a strange look upon her face.

    Nurse,

    Yes,

Is anything wrong with my baby,

No, why do you ask Ms. Murphy? Said the nurse with that same strange look still on her face.

Because I see a strange look in your eyes and upon your face like as if something isn’t right and the doctor had those same looks. Tell me please, tell me the truth, is my baby okay?

    She’s fine maam, it’s just,

With that Ms. Murphy interrupted, It’s just what, what?

Calm down Ms. Murphy, there’s nothing to worry about or to get upset about, it’s just that, well,

    Well what nurse, what?

Well, when she was first pulled out of you and the doctor slapped her on her bottom, well, she didn’t cry nor did she whine,

So what does that mean? Asked Ms. Murphy.

Nothing I guess, But her thoughts were different. Other than that she’s a fine baby girl, and pretty too,

    Can I see her now.

Oh, I’m sorry, for a minute I thought she was mine, Said Robin with a smile as she handed over the baby to its mother. Ms. Murphy smiled as she looked into her baby girls’ eyes for the first time. She’s adorable, She said.

    I told you,

    Thank you nurse,

It’s okay Ms. Murphy, and you can call me Robin if you like,

    Alright Robin, I’m Sophia,

    My pleasure Sophia,

    As well as mine Robin,

The two women smiled then began talking and laughing with each other.

Well I guess it’s time you get some rest Sophia like the doctor ordered, and it’s time to feed little, little, oh my, she has no name. Do you have a name in mind for her Sophia? Asked Robin.

No not really. I wasn’t even thinking about that. Let me see, she’s a beautiful baby, and to go through all this she had to be strong. She’s a precious gem to me she’s like a treasure found, she’s a diamond in my eye, yeah, that’s it, she’s Diamond, Said Sophia.

That’s beautiful Sophia. So with that I guess I’ll take little Diamond to eat and sleep, you get some rest too, okay. I’ll see you in a little while, alright?

Okay Robin and thanks for everything?

Don’t mention it Sophia just rest, Sophia watched as Robin and her Diamond left out of the room, she then laid her head down to rest.

During Diamonds’ early Hospital life, Doctors and Specialists tried to convince her mother to pull the plug on her. But like any mother who loves their child or children, she refused and kept on refusing. No I won’t agree to pulling the plug on my baby,

But Ms. Murphy, she’ll be a vegetable for the rest of her life, The doctors said.

So, she’ll be a vegetable that I’ll love,

Think about it Ms. Murphy, what kind of a life would she have?

She’ll have a good life, with me,

I really think that you should consider this option Ms. Murphy,

I have. I consider myself a lucky mother to have such a beautiful daughter, Said Ms. Murphy. And that was that.

    TEN YEARS LATER

Yassir are you okay baby? His mother asked.

Yeah ma, I’m fine, I’m a big boy ma, Said Yassir sitting up in his Hospital bed waiting for the Doctors to come get him for his heart transplant operation.

Both of his parents are sitting at his bedside just as they were upon his arrival six hours ago. Still hoping and praying for their only, sons’ life.

Okay young man, it’s time, Said the doctor.

Doctor, will Yassir be alright? Asked his mother.

He’ll be fine Ms. Shamir, The Doctor responded. We have some of the best, if not thee best Doctors handling this operation, don’t worry, he’s in very good hands, He continued. Ready young man?

    My names Yassir,

Oh, excuse me, Yassir, The Doctor said sarcastically with a smile. So with that last remark Yassir was rolled out of his room towards the operating room.

    Hold it, Said Yassir.

What’s the matter son? Asked his father.

Nothing dad, I just want to say that I love you both, Said Yassir as tears filled his parents eyes.

Tears of hope and joy to know that they have a son who is as brave as a young warrior.

We love you to Yassir, Said his parents in unison.

As they watched their only son being wheeled into the operating room. Let’s pray, Said Ms. Shamir.

Mr. and Mrs. Shamir continuously paced the hospitals waiting rooms floor waiting for some news of their sons condition.

Mr. and Mrs. Shamir, Said the nurse.

Yes yes, how’s Yassir? Asked his mother.

Is he alright? Asked the father.

    He’s doing fine maam, sir,

Oh praise the Lord, Said his mother as she looked up to the sky as though looking through the ceiling.

When can I see him? She asked.

When can you, see him, or when can we, see him? Corrected the father.

Oh, I’m sorry honey, I didn’t mean anything by that,

I know babe, He said as he kissed his wife of twenty years still tear filled cheek.

You both may go in to see him in a minute, he’s being brought into the recovery room, I’ll escort you both there when the Doctors talk to you and notify me that’s it’s okay, alright? Asked and said the nurse.

Thank you very much nurse, Said Yassirs’ parents.

Don’t mention it, but thank him, Said the nurse pointing towards the sky as though through the ceiling. For the operation took nine hours,

I know them Doctors must be tired, standing up all them hours, keeping their eyes open that long, Said Yassirs’ mother.

Naw, I doubt it. If it would have been in the beginning of their careers yeah, but now, they’re use to it, Said his father.

JUST WHEN YOU THOUGHT IT WAS SAFE TO DONATE

    HE’S ALIVE CRAZY AND DERANGED

    HE’S BACK BUT HE’S BLACK!

    Yassir, His mother called.

Are you up son? Time for school, She added.

    I’m comin ma, Yassir answered.

Hurry up your breakfast is getting cold,

    I’ll be right down,

As Yassir said that, he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his heart. Grabbing his heart Yassir felt a strange beat, a beat of words. Yo amigo, But to him he ignored it. Yassir sat at the breakfast table unable to understand what his heart was trying to say or do.

What’s the matter son? Asked his father.

    Nothing dad,

Eat up Yassir before you be late on your first day at school, Said his mother.

Catching the bus to school, Yassir again felt that strange beat. Yo amigo, how do you say your name? Asked his heart.

    This time Yassir answered it.

It’s Yassir, and who are you, where are you? Asked Yassir but not realizing the other kids on the bus were staring at him like as if he were a weirdo. But he paid no attention to them for his heart had just told him,

Fuck them Yassir, I’m and I’ll be your best and only friend,

I’ll go with that, Said Yassir. But I asked you, who are you and where are you? He asked.

You’ll find out in due time, Said his heart. But for now, its school time,

Yassirs’ first day at school wasn’t nothing like he expected, for he had three fights all because of his actions on the bus. By the way, he won two and tied one. On Yassirs’ second day at school, because of his age, he had to take an aptitude test to determine where his level of schooling was. But to the Administrations surprise, Yassir didn’t belong in their school, he belonged in high school. The school couldn’t understand it, but because of his age, Yassir would have to start school in the fifth grade. He was assigned to a middle aged white teacher’s room, Mrs. Goldfinger. Yassir was given the seat directly in front of her desk in the front row. He felt it was to keep an eye on him. Little did he know, he was right. But off to Yassirs right sat a very pretty girl who seemed to be staring at him constantly. This particular day Yassir smiled at her only for her to respond back with a much broader smile. Yassir glanced up at his teacher who was giving out the assignment for the day. It was enough work to keep the whole class busy so she could get back to her past time hobby, reading. As Yassir again looked at the pretty girl he found that she hadn’t taken her eyes off him in all that time. He glanced up again at Mrs. Goldfinger, she was now deep into her book. Yassir beckoned the girl to pull her desk and chair over, closer to his. She gave him a misunderstanding, look. Yassir then reached over and pulled her desk and chair over like cheek to cheek with his. Not to his surprise she didn’t object. He then whispered something into her ear, she looked at him with an off smile and with the look as if to say, What, I’ve never done anything like that before, Yassir again whispered something else into her ear. The pretty girl then smiled even deeper and looked up at the teacher. Seeing that the teacher wasn’t looking or that they weren’t being paid attention to by anyone, she reached over and under Yassirs’ desk and began unzipping his pants. Once she accomplished that she reached inside his pants searching for him. Finding him she began to play with young Yassirs’ genitals. At which time Yassir himself had reached under her desk, up her dress, inside her pretty pink silk with white laced panties and began playing with her. They were in a world of there own. But little did either of them know, Mrs. Goldfinger was no longer into her book but was into what was taking place right before her eyes in her classroom. Uh um, She loudly cleared her throat causing Yassir to look up and notice he, they had been caught. But young Yassir showed no sign of embarrassment; he just took his little playmates hand from inside his pants and his from under her dress. Mrs. Goldfinger made a come here gesture with her index finger indicating for Yassir to come to her. Yassir just sat there. Mrs. Goldfinger got out of her chair and approached Yassir. Upon approaching Yassir she reached down and grabbed him by the ears and lifted him out of his seat and escorted him out of the classroom causing the whole class to smirk and laugh including the other participant. Outside the classroom with the door closed Mrs. Goldfinger pushed Yassir up against the wall into the corner of the door and the wall.

Young man, may I ask what the hell do you think you’re doing? She asked.

What the fuck you think? Thought Yassir.

    Young man,

The names Yassir bitch, Yassirs’ thoughts continued.

You’re not old enough to know anything about what you were doing,

How the fuck do you know, jealous? His heart said suddenly taking over for it felt Yassir was in need of help.

Don’t you ever, and I mean ever, let me catch you doing any thing like that or of that nature in my classroom again, do you hear me? She asked only to see no expression of listening on Yassirs face.

If I see anything like what I saw in my classroom today, you’re going to the principals office where your parents will be notified on what their son is doing in school besides studying, do I make myself clear, or like you black folks say, get my drift?

Speaking of drift bitch drift the fuck out of my face, Yassir thought.

Now get your black behind back in there and sit your behind down, in the back like old times, remember? Mrs. Goldfinger said.

And then something Yassir wasn’t expecting happened, nor was Mrs. Goldfinger. She raised her foot with those high heel spiked shoes and brought it down hard on Yassirs’ foot. She shouldn’t have done that because what took place following that was a whole lot worse than her stomping on Yassirs’ foot.

When Yassir felt her high heels upon his foot, a rage built up inside of him like never before. With the flash of light, Yassir leaped up on Mrs. Goldfingers’ chest wrapping his legs around her waist and grabbing her by the sides of her face and hair. Yassir commenced to biting her amongst the face. Little did she know that Yassir was doing serious damage to her, dismembering her face without her even knowing it. It all happened so fast, but as she felt the blood and pain in her face she began to scream for help, for she couldn’t help herself Yassirs’ strength and vengeance was to strong for her. It wasn’t out of pain that Yassir was doing what he was doing, the fact of the matter is and was, because, just the thought of or the feeling of someone putting their hands or their leg or whatever on him would cause him to react in such a manner. Mrs. Goldfinger then let out a scream that the whole school heard including the male teacher across the hall, which came to his fellow workers’ aide. Seeing what was taking place across the hall in front of his eyes shocked him, he ran to her rescue only to get there a little to late, Yassir was just about finish. He pulled Yassir off of his peer and was shocked at what he saw this little boy had done. But when Yassir saw what he had done, he smiled, but not just that, his heart then said to him, Yo Papa, Damn! Nice work, He was then taken to the principals’ office. And on Yassirs’ second day at school he was suspended.

Two weeks later Yassir returned to school, again only to engage in more fights from people who laughed at him about what happened two weeks ago. But to Yassir it wasn’t anything to be ashamed of. You see, Yassir wasn’t like most kids his age; then again, he wasn’t like any of the kids his age although he may have been smaller than some, but he was far more advanced in life than all of them for Yassir was a young man at the age of ten. He could fight better than the vast majority of them due to him having a grown mans heart and the courage of a grown man is what caused him to excel in all things like sports, education and life skills itself. During fourth period close to the end of the school day Yassir was in gym, this gym was a little different than most gyms in elementary schools. This gym had a boxing ring in the far left corner of the gym. The principal as well as the Physical Ed. teacher thought that having such a gym would keep down a lot of violence in their school. If any fighting was to be done in this school it would be done in the ring and after the bout was over a truce was made with the two individuals, male as well as females. But other strange events took place in this gym, this ring. One day during fourth period the gym teacher left the gym after seeing Yassir in the ring beating up on most of his opponents. When the gym teacher came back into the gym he came with a boy twice the size of Yassir.

Yassir, I have somebody that wants to fight you, He said to Yassir, but Yassir didn’t respond back which caused the gym teacher to think that Yassir was afraid.

Yassir, did you hear me or are you afraid of Duke? He continued."

Yassir aint afraid of nobody, you or Dukey boy, Yassir replied back.

    Then would you fight him?

I’ll fight him and you, but send him in,

Beat the hell out of him for me Duke,

    Okay, Said Duke.

The big boy had his gloves put on and the teacher rang the bell. They fought for what seemed like hours, and Yassir was on the losing end. But when Yassir happened to look down and saw the look on the gym teachers’ face, he then knew he had been set up. With the feeling of being used, played upon, Yassirs’ heart gave him a vengeance like he never knew. His eyes became bright red, he had the rage of a raging bull and when his opponent saw that look in his eyes, he became afraid, for never had he seen such a look. Right away his heart was taken.

He’s all yours, Said his heart.

The gym teachers’ face took on a different expression he couldn’t understand what happened. The fight took on a whole different turn, now Yassir was on the winning end and by a large margin. The gym teacher started to ring the bell to end the fight but it was too late, Yassir had just laid his opponent down to rest with his face beat to a pulp. Yassir undid his gloves and stepped out the ring, as he passed the gym teacher he spoke, You shouldn’t have done that, And with that statement he left the gym, matter of fact, he left the school completely. Yassir walked up the hill towards the abandoned houses that were located at the top of the hill over looking the school and other property below. Yassir entered one of the empty houses, the one he always go to when he wants to be alone, well not alone because this is where he could talk to his heart without anyone saying or thinking he was crazy. For he knew what they did to crazy people and where they sent them. Yassir waited until his school closed, when it closed he walked back down the hill and towards the basement section where he broke in to and made his way towards the gym. When he reached the gym, Yassir went into the gym teachers’ office, Now let’s see who has the last laugh, He said to himself as he took out a book of matches that he got from his abandoned house and began lighting the office on fire. After accomplishing his mission, Yassir left the office and walked over to the boxing ring, which he set on fire also, he then left the school, walked back up the hill to sit and watch what he had done. Feeling pleased with himself, Yassir smiled, but he had no idea he had been seen by a little old lady who just happen to be walking by as Yassir was walking away from the school. At first she paid no attention to him until she realized school had been over, plus she then smelled and saw the flames and smoke.

    What’s your name little boy?

    Why? Asked Yassir.

Why, just curious, Said the stranger.

I’m called Yassir, That’s a nice and unusual name for a little guy like you, you go to school?

    School, uh no, Said Yassir.

Why not? Asked the stranger, for he was interested in why this little young boy wasn’t in school like all the other kids his age. Wanting to know this was his job and he enjoyed his job for he was the truant officer.

    I don’t know Lied Yassir.

Well we’ll just have to find out,

Yassir was not so much terrified about the idea of going back to school, for he had lived in a world full of adults all his short life so what he had learned he felt he didn’t need to learn anything else. He had had no connections with other kids his age because of his situation plus Yassir felt he was no kid, never was. The following Monday morning Yassirs’ mother dropped him off at school again after being suspended twice. But to her surprise the principal had other thoughts in mind about Yassir coming back in to his school.

He’s trouble, beats up on teachers, students, he’s a sex maniac and an arson, I can’t have that in my school, He then made a phone call. After talking on the phone Mr. Richardson, the principal, informed Mrs. Shamir that a hearing on Yassirs’ behavior and his actions in and out of school would be scheduled.

At the hearing Mr. Richardson produced his witnesses which included Mrs. Goldfinger, kids Yassir had had discrepancies with inside and outside of school. And last but not least the woman who saw Yassir exiting the school. The last one to present herself to the Judge was Mrs. Shamir. Yassirs’ mother tried to explain to the court that it’s not Yassirs’ fault why he acts the way he do.

Your Honor, I think it’s his heart that’s in control of his actions he’s had a heart transplant, I never had any problems with Yassir before, he’s a good boy by nature and by my upbringing Sir. Sir please give Yassir another chance I’m sure he’ll be good won’t you Yassir? Asked his mother.

I’m sorry maam, but I have no other choice but to commit him to the Reform School for Boys until he’s thirteen years of age, The Judge ordered.

No, Your Honor, please, he’s only a baby, Yassirs’ mother cried.

Ma, don’t beg that cracker, fuck him,

Hey watch your mouth, Said his heart.

Excuse my language ma, Said Yassir. Don’t worry about me ma. I’ll be alright believe that, I’ll write you all the time, I promise. I love you dearly ma, Added Yassir."

Oh God. I love you to Yassir, Said his mother as she watched them take Yassir away. Yassir was then transferred to the Reform School for Delinquent Juveniles.

As the transport team for the court arrived at the Reform School carrying the ten juveniles the court just committed to the school until the ages of thirteen, they were all ordered off the van.

You have about three seconds to get out of that van, Shouted LT. Putnam.

His voice resonating from deep within his chest. He flings open the doors to the van to reveal ten juveniles chained together at the waist.

Okay file a single line, on the double, you’re all done talking you don’t talk any more, The LT. screams.

To all you little punks that don’t know where you are, you’re in Middletown Correctional Institute For Juvenile Delinquents, The officer said. There will be no talking, no smoking and if I say no breathing, then no breathing, is that understood?

Yes Sir, They all said in unison, except one.

    I can’t hear you,

    Yes Sir, was repeated louder.

    That’s more like it.

The ten boys scrambled from the Correctional Departments van and stood shivering in single file as a chill March wind blew across the fields of the Middletown Complex.

Now follow me so we can get you all uniforms and bed roll, Said the LT. as he directs them to the first door on the right as the gate opens in the bob wired topped fence that surrounds the camp. He then runs along side of them shouting, Hurry up hurry up.

They half run half shuffle along the asphalt pavement chains jangling and into the warmth of the building. The ten juveniles are ordered to stand at attention with their backs to a wall so the chains can be removed. Right from the start the now called inmates know how to make use of the word Sir. They are soon to be told to say Sir both before and after responses to commands or questions.

When I stand in front of you, give me your last name first, first name last, An officer commanded.

As he stepped in front of the first boy, Sir, yes Sir, the boy responded.

A seemingly exasperated officer repeated his shouted command once again then again as he stepped in front of the boy again who appears increasingly confused. Suddenly he comprehends.

Sir, Connor Sam, Sir, The boy shouts fairly loud.

The officer moves down the line. The boys all line up for haircuts when a flash of gold catches the Lieutenants’ eye and he approached the slight built boy.

What are you in here for uh, Shamir isn’t it?

A number of things Sir, Yassir says in a cool even tone.

Smile boy, The officer ordered as he then called another instructor over to inspect young Yassirs’ gold dental work.

You use drug money to get that tooth done boy? The officer barked.

No Sir, You sell drugs boy?

    No Sir, You use drugs?

No Sir, What’s your name boy?

Mr. Ramirez, Mr. Escobar Ramirez, Said Yassir.

And just as he said it, he knew his friend did not desert him.

What are you a joker Shamir?

    No Sir,

Well, let’s try this again; what’s your name boy?

Sir, Mr. Shamir Yassir, Sir, Said Yassir.

What’s with the Mr. Shamir? Asked the LT.

Sir although I am small in size Sir, Sir, I am a man in heart, Sir, Said Yassir.

Is that so, well, Mr. Shamir, I asked you before what are you in here for?

Sir where should I begin, Sir?

At the beginning as long as it’s short,

Sir, well, I beat up my teachers then two thirds of my school, then I burned it down, Sir, Said Yassir.

Well Mr. Shamir, there will be no beating up on teachers here is that understood?

    Sir, yes Sir,

"And I doubt it if you can beat two thirds of this place and as far as burning it down,
