Kim Watson

One calls me Mother, others call me Sister, Aunt, Evangelist, and Teacher, but none of those titles brought such joy to my heart, as being a Daughter of the King. 14 years ago sitting in service, I heard God utter the words, “She belongs to me”. My hands went up and I surrended my life to God! There was no thought to look back, I totally surrendered to Jesus. At the age of 35, it is my hopes that as teen girls and young women hold on to the bottom of my skirt, they will know they too are a Daughter of the King...

    Legacy Notes

So many times the enemy deceives the heart and minds of God’s people and they fall for his tricks. I pray that if the enemy plants any seed of fear, depression, poverty, sickness (etc.) in the minds of my nieces, great nieces, great-great nieces and yes my cousins, that they will grab hold of the Faith that their grandmother (Willie Mae) and aunt (Willie Clarice, Lucille Watkins) has taught us and live according to God’s word! They will know that they too are a Daughter of the King!

I am extremely grateful for the numerous people that entered my life that made me who I am today. I am glad that even before the foundations of the earth God planned that Leon would meet Willie Mae and yes they would call me Daughter. There were times when I didn’t act like a daughter, but my parents loved me in spite of my actions.

God placed me in a family with six other sisters (Betty, Debra, Willie, Theresa, Rhonda & Lisa). I was a daughter to some, a shadow to others and for those who didn’t want to accept me as the last daughter I was a pain. Each did their part in mentoring and molding me to who I am today. Through it all (good and bad) we have learned that sisters are one of God’s greatest creations and although we may not understand or agree with each other all the time…We Need Each Other to Survive! I love you guys!!!

Publishing this book was not the easiest hurdle to jump over; and even when I wanted to sit on the bench (concerning anything) I have always had a cheerleader on the side rooting me on, Thanks La Freada!

    Dedication:

This book is dedicated to my sister Willie C.Watson. Throughout her battle with cancer she never lost the faith. When the doctors could only promise her a 40% chance of recovery, by taking Chemo, she looked at them, looked at us and said I will take God’s promise.

We didn’t fully understand until she passed. God guaranteed a 100%. She died believing if she did not get life here, she would receive eternal life in heaven.

    And He Called Me Daughter

Early one Saturday morning as I knelt in prayer, I heard God call me daughter. Tears began to roll down my face uncontrollably, and I could not understand how or why he could call me daughter. Just to know him as Savior was more than I deserved and now he calls me daughter.

With tears in my eyes and a Yes in my heart, I said, Lord I don’t know what it means to be a daughter. It was at that time and months later God began to teach me how to be a daughter and what it took to remain a Daughter of the King.

    Chapter 1

    The Doctor’s Visit

    Matthew 9:22

But Jesus turned him about and when he saw her, he said, "DAUGHTER be of good comfort. Thy faith had made thee whole."

Never once was her first or last name mentioned in the Scriptures. Neither her age, background, nor her religious status revealed. The woman has been identified by Theologians and Bible scholars as The woman with the issue of blood. According to the Gospel of Matthew, for 12 years, this woman had experienced physical, and (we conclude) financial, mental and emotional pain from this issue.

I began to put myself into this unknown woman’s shoes; I tried to imagine what it must have been like for her on that first doctor’s visit. My imagination began to run, in seconds, I was there. I can see her as she walks down the dusty roads of Capernaum. She struggles to avoid the crowd. People are everywhere. The noise of the craft men yelling, the children playing in the street and the stench of the fish could not be avoided. As the bells from the markets rang she shuffled through the crowd.

A woman grabs her by the hand and compels her to come to the temple. She jerks her hand back trying to identify the woman. Being so consumed by her issue, the only words that could come from her mouth was No. With much frustration showing on her face, she walks away from the woman and continues to press through the crowd.

The walk seemed to drain all the strength from her body. She becomes weary and faint, so just for a moment she sat by the wayside. As she sat there puzzled about what was going on within her body, a crowd passes by carrying someone off in a coffin. Her mind drifted into what the cause of death may have been. How old was the person? Did they have any children? Did the person die alone? These questions had little or no importance to her before but now because of the physical pain, her mind drifts.
