About this ebook
James Carty
James Carty was born in Stoughton, Massachusetts on July 5th, 1994. James attended Brockton High School and graduated June of 2012. Throughout his educational years he continued to thrive as an Honor Roll student. James always had a passion for writing since the 6th grade, but he was very shy about sharing his thoughts and opinions. Poetry entered his life at age 11. Listening to R&B and Rap music, James understood how such artists portrayed their feelings and emotions into verses, but he didn't want to do just that. James wanted to express his thoughts and feelings without being like an actual music artist. Throughout James high school years, his poems developed and in his junior and senior years of high school, more friends and family came to recognized hid abilities and talent with his poetry.

What is poetry?
11321.jpgWhat is poetry? Is it a place, an object? Poetry is everything written in a rhythm of words describing its nature. It is a literary form of art broken into sections that help the reader or audience follow in the actual person’s thoughts and expressions with detail. Poetry is the critical thinking of one’s mind on certain aspects of life that draw in that person to write the feelings he or she possesses into word form. It can be so much as just writing thoughts. Then those same thoughts can turn into a rhythm and create deeper meaning for the individual. Poetry may tell another person’s story of their life that could never be created with their own thoughts. Poetry can be sports, clouds, family, school, food, genders, relationships, toys, work, poetry can be everything. When it all comes down to it, poetry is nature. Everything around us is nature. Everything around us isn’t poetry, but it could be. Most people think poetry is complex, but it isn’t. Poetry can be two sentences broken into stanzas. Some people think all poems rhyme, but they don’t. The individual who creates this art we call poetry
, from the critical mind that that person has, has the choice to make it their own. Poetry is beautiful. Not the word poetry
but what stands behind it; a glorious journey going through the mind of one that withholds deep thoughts that urge him or her to express those feelings and force the literary elements within them to come out
