MOUNTAIN OF UNBELIEF

W hat is unbelief? Unbelief is absolutely a lack of faith. Where faith is present, unbelief is absent and where unbelief is present, faith is absent. Unbelief would always and forever pose as a mountain as long as it exists in the heart of any Christian. The word of God in Mark 9 v 23 says , everything is possible for him who beli eves.

So literally everything would be impossible for him who does not believe.

So therefore if you wallow in unbelief, you give room for impossibility to breed. Any impossibility is a mountain because it will stop you from reaching your goal. Also you must understand that unbelief is a self made mountain, because the word of God admonishes every Christian to walk and live by faith.

For the just shall live by faith [and not by unbelief]

Heb 10 v 38. Emphasis added

The above scripture is final on Gods position with regards to how a Christian must live. So if you chose not to walk and live by faith then you automatically create this self made mountain of unbelief in your life.

Every true child of God must not live and walk by the standards of this world, but must only live by the standard of faith because the standard of this world and faith run in contradiction; they are both contrary to each other. While faith is saying believe first and thereafter you would see, the standard of this world says see first before you believe. The whole concept of faith and the pivot on which faith stands is this; Faith is evidence of things hoped for, substance of things not seen. Therefore if we don’t live by faith then the mountain of unbelief becomes inevitable.

Furthermore faith is a mandate given by God himself and it can’t be varied, neither is it optional. Faith pleases God.

Furthermore the kingdom of God operates solely by faith. Whatever you want from the throne room of God you can have it by faith. Faith is the key to unlock all the goodness of heaven to your life. Faith in God and his word would make you to operate and walk in the supernatural. By simply believing that what God says in his word is true and his word would surely come to pass would make you to live a heaven on earth lifestyle and make you to be a wonder to all who see you.

Faith is our covenant access to the power of God. When your faith comes alive, Gods power is released and it flows supernaturally towards your direction and in your favor. Also when you have faith and exercise it, God is pleased because you are affirming that his word is true and that he is God, hence this scripture,

For without faith, it is impossible to please God.

So to please God, I must not only have faith, but I must ensure to walk in faith always.

Also the bible says with God nothing shall be impossible. So in other words without God, impossibility is sure to exist. Therefore to have impossibility out of the way you have to believe in God and his word absolutely.

If you believe you would have whatsoever you ask for in prayer. So to receive answers to prayers, you must take away unbelief and insert faith. It’s a choice, and the decision is entirely yours to make. You may choose to wallow in unbelief or you may choose to walk entirely and absolutely by faith. Faith opens you up to a world of unlimited exploits and faith holds the answer to all questions of life.

Also you must understand that unbelief will continue to pose as a mountain and will hinder you from getting any breakthrough at all. If you don’t believe how can you have your prayer answered?

The book of Heb 3 v 19 states that the Israelites could not enter in due to unbelief. This verse gives us a clear example of hindrance that is caused by unbelief. Here were the Israelites, God had given them the whole land of Canaan, a land flowing with milk and honey, but they could not enter in and take possession, all as a result of a mountain of unbelief they created for themselves.

There was absolutely no reason for this mountain at all, because the raw power of God was evidenced for them to see, it was with them for 24 / 7, as a pillar of fire by night and as a pillar of cloud by day. God’s presence never left them and it was so sure that the land was set for them to occupy. But alas! They could not enter into the land. What caused this hindrance? UNBELIEF caused this hindrance for them.

You can imagine how many Christians are daily creating mountains for themselves as a result of unbelief. Simple believing is so hard for them. You can be a Christian for as long as you want, but so far as you wallow in unbelief you cannot inherit all the promises of God. Unbelief would rob you of the manifestation of the finished works of Calvary.

For we also have had the gospel preached to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no profit to them, because those who heard did not combine it with faith.

Heb 4 v 2.

You can sit in church all day long and practically listen to all the brilliant teachings, however as long as you don’t have faith the word preached to you would be of no value to you. You can’t profit from the word. The word of God is absolutely for profiting, for healing, for enriching, for deliverance and absolutely anything you can imagine or think of and this is in line with the scripture 2nd Tim 3 v 16.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.

Also it is one thing to be a Christian and another thing to be a Christian who is walking in dominion and exercising his or her God given rights. You can only exercise your God given rights if you walk in faith. Therefore take a decision to let the word of God profit you by simply walking in faith. Unbelief is a cankerworm, an obstacle, a major hindrance and you have to do all you can to chuck it out of your system and begin walking by faith because faith is the only key to unlock your entire God given inheritance. Faith is the key to a world of unlimited access.

It takes faith to access your inheritance in Christ and the violent believer takes their portion by the force of faith.

Therefore unbelief is a mountain and would always pose as a hindrance. So get it out of the way by simply believing.

When you believe God your faith is brought to bare and grace is released in your direction.

HOW TO MOVE THIS MOUNTAIN.

1.] Rise up in faith.

The solution lies right in your hands.

Faith is the key to open all doors. No matter how big or huge or fortified the gate is, faith would throw it wide opened for you.

Faith is all you need. Now to marshal faith you have to understand the meaning of faith. What is faith?

1. Faith is when you put confidence in someone’s ability. I have faith that Mr. A will buy me a car as he has promised and you live by that notion that your car is on the way.

To really understand faith, don’t look far, just go and get a little child and tell the little child you will buy him an airplane, a space craft, expensive things within 24hours. That child will be so ecstatic with joy; he will jump up with excitement and tell everybody what you have promised him. That child will believe you instantly and would never doubt you or even think for a moment how you are going to get them for him. Beloved that is how God wants us to trust and believe in him. Also that child would not question your ability to provide those things, neither would he try to figure out how you are going to provide it, imagine providing an aircraft in 24 hours, obviously it’s not possible, but that child just believes you instantly.

We have to believe God like a little child. Have faith like a child, children believe everything and they never doubt. If you believe God like a child and have child like faith you will surely have all your prayers answered. Christianity is all about having faith in God. For without faith it is impossible to please God. Everyone who comes to God must believe that God exist and that he can do all things.

2] Always keep your hopes up, keep on believing and trust God firmly.

No matter what you are faced with, just keep hoping, keep on believing, always master the art of taking your eyes off any contrary thing facing you and forever keep your eyes on Jesus always. As long as Peter fixed his eyes on Jesus, that is holding out in faith and keeping his hopes up that he would make it, he achieved the impossible by walking on water, but the moment he took his eyes off and focused on the contrary wind and storms, he began to sink.

Another classical example was Job; despite all what Job went through he kept his hopes up that one day he would see God. And this is what he said in Job 19 v 25

And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God, I myself will see him, with my own eyes, I not another.

And indeed Job eventually saw God in Job 42 v 5 after he made the declaration in Job 19 v 25.

Then Job replied to the Lord,

My ears had heard of you,

But now my eyes have seen you.

Job 42 v 5.

3] You must avoid walking by sight/ sense knowledge.

Sense knowledge is walking by head and brain calculation and not by the faith. Walking by sight kills faith and you limit God when you walk by sight. Sight says how a shout of praise can pull down the fortified walls of Jericho. But faith says with God nothing shall be impossible and the so called fortified walls of Jericho was flattened down by a shout of praise.

Sense knowledge says how can singing and praising defeat 3 mighty nations. But faith says yes with a shout of praise 3 nations can be defeated.

Sense knowledge says how can 5 loaves of bread and 2 fishes feed over a crowd of 5000 people, but faith says nothing is impossible with God and indeed not only were 5000 people fed but there was so much left over.

Sense knowledge says see first and then you believe, but faith says believe before you see. The real core of faith is evidence of things hoped for and the substance of things not seen; therefore if you walk by sight you are negating the very principle of what faith is. Sense knowledge kills faith, therefore to keep your faith alive refuse to operate by sense knowledge.

The book of 2nd Corinthians 4 v 18 says;

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

This verse sums it all up. We are not to fix our eyes on what we see, because what we see is certainly subject to change via faith in God’s word. That unemployment, that barrenness, that sickness, that challenging situation is just temporary and faith in God’s word would change any situation because God’s word is eternal. So begin to see things through the eyes of faith and not through sense / sight knowledge.

4] There must be absolutely Zero tolerance for doubt.

This is very mandatory. Doubt must never exist around and you have to do all you can to quash it whenever it wants to arise. Doubt is like a puncture that would flatten the balloon of faith you are holding or trying to build. Imagine sailing beautifully and smoothly on the ocean and suddenly you find water coming into your boat and you start sinking that is what doubt does, therefore determine to never entertain it.

You rule out doubt by consistently engaging your mind to know what thoughts you should entertain and the ones you should not entertain. Anytime the devil brings any stupid thoughts, don’t allow it to take root in your mind, quickly zap it out. Please note that your mind is a battle field and to win you have to master the art of pulling down and throwing out every thought that is contrary to the word of God. Amen.

5] Build your faith.

Everyone has been given a measure of faith, but it is up to you to grow your faith. Faith comes by hearing and hearing of the word of God. The bible is God’s letter to us, his instructions, so anytime you open your bible to read it, you are having a conversation with the author that is God himself. God speaks to you anytime you open that wonderful book to read it. So to hear God more, you have to saturate yourself, soak yourself in the word and you hear the word of God by being,

1] A studious student by studying the word of God and as you study your faith comes alive because anytime you open your bible you are having an encounter with the God of faith. Make this a daily habit and avoid getting entangled with all the buzz and distractions of life. Study and meditate on God’s word and get ready for a supernatural transformation in your life.

2] Listen to anointed messages by men of God, for faith comes by hearing and hearing.

3] Engage in fasting and a prayer, this act builds your spirit man and makes your spirit man to be alert.

4] Start speaking the word and begin declaring what you want to see. Words are seeds for emotional change. When you speak the word of God, you are putting your faith in action and this would trigger the power of God to flow into your situation. God’s word would change the course of your life forever.

The word remains logos but when you speak the word you are bringing the Rhema which is the revelation in the word to pass. Your gun is powerful ordinarily but until you pull the trigger you can’t witness or feel the effect of the gun. To understand the power of the gun/ word it is up to you to pull the trigger and release the bullets by speaking the word of God to shatter any devil facing you. The devil cannot stand IT IS WRITTEN and you can only say it is written by opening your mouth wide and speaking.

BELOW ARE 10 TAKE HOME POINTS ABOUT FAITH.

1. Faith is the key to unlocking the impossible. It gives you access to explore and access all your God given rights.

2. Faith is the currency of heaven.

3. Faith believes the positive even when it looks like all the odds are against you.

4. Faith is holding an invisible candle of light right in the midst of darkness, thus when everyone sees darkness you see
