I would like to give thanks to my Lord and Savior for giving me the inspiration to write this book. I dedicate it to my husband, Curtis, and son, Kristian. Thank you both for allowing me the opportunity to spend the time necessary to see it to completion. Also, I give thanks to my mother, Naomi and all other family members, coworkers, church members, and friends for your support and feedback. I sincerely thank each and every one of you.

PREFACE
I N 2004, WHILE WORKING AS a cytotechnologist, I struggled with being single and living a life in Christ. But through faith, and studying and living the Word of Christ, I was able to understand and endure my current state. In this profession, you screen slides all day with a microscope, leaving me with plenty of time to listen to the Bible on CDs. I was teaching Bible study to teenagers and was a faithful member of my church and community. One day, I expressed my personal struggle with being a Christian single and trying to live a Christian lifestyle to a coworker. I further informed her of how gaining a closer relationship with Christ, vowing to live according to his Word, and trusting and believing that he will send me my husband helped the struggle and, eventually, gave me peace, patience, and understanding of the reason for waiting on him to send the proper mate. She asked if I would come to her church and speak to the Singles’ Ministry Sunday School class about my experience and give some encouragement to those in a similar circumstance. I was single, a divorced mother striving to live a Christian life style.
After accepting the invitation, I asked the Lord to give me a message, an encouraging word to give to those in my situation, and he gave me Saved, single, and satisfied.
One of the deacons from my church accompanied me that day and reported back to my pastor about the message and the response. I was then asked to speak to my congregation with the same message.
For many years afterward, I would allow individuals the opportunity to read a copy of it, and I always get the same response, You need to tell this message to all singles. You need to put it in a book.
I held on to the message for years, with it tucked safely away in a folder. The Holy Spirit constantly whispered in my ear, Tell my message. Feed my sheep.
But I did not have the platform by which to tell the message.
Years later, I was asked to facilitate a class at a Singles’ Summit, and I used this message. The door was opened, and the platform emerged. I later gave the same message at a Women’s Conference, and again, I got the same response, People need to hear this message.
INTRODUCTION
D O YOU FIND YOURSELF ASKING the all-too-familiar question, Why am I still single?
Many unmarried believers of Christ and nonbelievers as well ask this perplexing question. They find themselves pondering what it is that their married counterparts possess that they are la cking.
In the twenty-first century, we have encountered a population of people that is growing at an astronomical rate. This population is termed as singles
and defined as those individuals that have never been married, those that were married and now divorced, those that are widowed, and those that are married but separated and living as a single person. This population is growing constantly because of a number of variables. Individuals are more career driven today than ever before and, therefore, getting married at later stages of life. Also, there is an increase in divorce rate. Single Christians are also encountering individuals with commitment issues and less opportunity to be evenly yoked. Whatever the reasons may be in today’s society, this population continues to encounter their own individual set of circumstances, revelations, and challenges, including church attendance, finances, ministry participation, salvation,
