Cried out the ancient serf
And vainly sought he to remove
Me from my_youthful berth.
Cast away the cares of lust
Rang out the servant’s call
And passionless he tried to steal
What in one’s youth is all.
Rush away from reckless lies
Sang out my mentor’s voice
And warned that I twixt_youth and age
Must make a careful choice.
Shy away from sin and guilt
Advised the burnished sage
And he attempted to dissuade
Me from my youth to age.
Arrogant with youth was I,
Demanding that it last
