About this ebook

The splendor and majesty of giant magnolia trees are prevalent around our homes in the south. Where we live, the magnolia tree in our yard stood like a sentinel, grand and magnificent. I took a photograph to remind me of the wonder of its Creator.

Echoes of Life - Iris Woollard McCullen

    Our Heritage for Tomorrow

The valley is deep and dark,

    crawling with ugly thoughts.

The earth stinks, as man pollutes and destroys.

Evil towers are built and intrude into infinite space,

    breaking the unit of future.

Gone is purity and innocent child,

raped by the minds of adult giants.

Peace stalks the land, and never sleeps

till it finds a resting place in this teeming

    universe.

Rise up and close the door, the wind blows dust.

Breathe slowly, for the air is thin and blue.

Brown trees and limpid river where rapids roared,

cloudless yellow sky with sinless view.

Dig the valley deep man, and wide,

so we can bury all our dead and dying.

What for posterity in this, our world of nothing but wars

and rumors of wars, arms, and bombs.

God, in His Mercy, gave us a heaven to live in,

Seek and Ye shall find, Beauty of Life

    The Reaper

The reaper came with scythe of steel,

to cut a swathe of harvest youth,

That in it’s innocence is lost,

    among the future bearded crew.

A rueful dirge bemoans the stage,

    as blood
