About this ebook

No two peoples lives are exactly the same. Similarities may occur, but nothing is identical. Instead, lives are created, discovered, and experienced differently, albeit with common features and encounters.

Discovering Life seeks to explore those differences and commonalities. Written in first, second, and third person, these poems open doors to the realities of romance, sensuality, lust, survival, and many of lifes challenges. They work from a variety of perspectives, offering insight, humor, passion, determination, and curiosity and consider open views of lifes lessons and tests. Author Kiminique Williams presents her newest lyrical treat as an invitation that welcomes you into her writing, her home away from home.

Best is Yet to Come
The best of me
Ill never see
Since Im always striving for improvement
My goal is to be a better me
As time continues to past
The best is always yet to come
As days keep coming and going

Looking through at my life, it may seem smooth to you

But come live in my world to see what I really go through

    Think with my brain

    See through my eyes

    Cry my tears

    Feel what I feel

    Looks are deceiving

What’s pretty on the outside, is not always gorgeous within

    Know things that I know

    Carry my visions

    Dream my dreams

    Live my life

    Then look through again

    Now judge me

    Finding Myself

I’m lost somewhere, but not really gone

Not feeling like myself; just left all alone

Always full of thought and desire plenty dreams

I have so many wants and countless needs

I see a future for me. Will I get there? Yes indeed.

Continually believing things will be done

And life for me has just begun

I’ve seen nothing yet, but soon will I start seeing

As I find myself internally as the gentle human being

Locating the real me and the joy that I will bring

Believing in myself to do anything

Know what I want, trying while I can

Grasping what I need and doing as I plan

Finding myself to be sweeter than a sugar cane

    After releasing the intensity
