A collective work of poems written from the heart and soul of the author.
Kia Brightful
Kia Brightful is a talented, raw writer born in Baltimore, Maryland. She was educated in the Prince George’s County school system where she excelled at reading and writing. At an early age her teachers recognized her talent and supported placing her in an advanced program offered at the elementary level of her education. Throughout her educational career she continued to develop her creativity and imagination which was apparent in her writing. Writing became second nature to her and she assumed this to be normal for everyone. In her adult years she wrote poems and short stories here and there but not considering them as real works of art. She attended Houghton College and Anne Arundel Community College where she excelled in an advanced English course. Realizing her writing was true talent she wrote over eighty poems in the course of two years. In 2010 she decided this talent should be shared with the world. She published her first collection of poems in book form titled “Pieces of Sunshine” and decided to follow her passion and develop her writing career to inspire and encourage a generation.
