About this ebook
Paul Tshuma
It is an honor to introduce a very special young teenage girl and friend of mine. Victoria has actually blown my mind but did not cause any brain damage. The painting in the front page was done by her; she did a wonderful job in such that I fell in love with it. My goal in life is to help every teenager such as Victoria pursue and use their talents to the fullest. Friends, let’s give support and love to these teenagers. Vicky, I want you to be where God wants you to be with your painting My name is Paul Bhekimpilo Tshuma, and I was born in Bulawayo Zimbabwe, Africa. I was born in 1978 and was never able to walk because of muscular dystrophy. I attended King George IV Memorial School from 1986 to 1996. During these years, I had developed an interest in writing poetry after being inspired by a Public speaking competition against 15 schools and coming in second place had encouraged me enormously. From that day, I was really interested in writing and it is the best way to express my thoughts through poetry. After writing my first few poems, such as, "Is it a forced Matter?" and "My talent", my desire for writing slowly diminished. I soon found writing to be a tedious chore, and had stopped writing completely. Two years later I met a friend in school, who had an intense passion for writing poems. After reading a couple of his poems, I was motivated and returned to my pen and paper. I have never stopped writing poems since that day. Even though I studied Computer Software and Technology at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, poetry still remains my passion. The type of poems I write are inspirational, love, encouragement, as well as personal experiences. The reason I write poetry is because I am able to express myself better: I hope that my poems can provide emotional or mental support for those who are going through difficult situations. If it were not of my family and friends who encouraged me by showing interest in my poetry, I would not have been able to put this book together. You have put this book Dream Again
together because you saw what was in my heart in the first book, The Heart Of A women.
You gave me a lot of support and by this I knew my dream had come true. I would like to thank all my friends.
Unfortunately, I will not be able to mention all of my friends’ names, but I do want you to know that you are all so special to me. In my family, I dedicate this to my one and only mom who has been by my side through my ups and downs. My sister, Loraine, and her family, who willingly shared their table with me, and no matter what, never turned their backs. My brother, Joseph, took over the role that my father had turned his back on. He had supported the family. Percy, my younger brother, and I were like paper and glue. He understood my weaknesses. Gift, the youngest in the family, has played an important role in my life because when I look at him, I see my past.
At McGill University, I will like to thank some people from the Office for Student with Disability. Mary has been like a mother to me, and she had provided me with an abundance of love and support. Joan has also played an important role in helping me learn because she made sure I have all the necessary tools and materials for my education. Debra has made me tough by teaching me how to fight for things I wanted. Nissim, who is always patient with me, has and will always be there whenever I need him. We have gone through a lot together, and he had given me hope in times of despair. Jeff is one of my best friends I have ever had; we have shared our interests and beliefs. Having Jeff as a friend has opened up my mind to many things I thought I knew of and yet did not. These people have made learning possible for me.
Last but not least, I would like to thank all of you for being there for me and for the inspiration you have given me. My family in Christ from my home church, Evangel Pentecostal Church, has supported me in prayers and many other things. Above all I will like to give thanks to the Lord, God almighty for giving me the ability to write and put this book together just for you.
Special Thanks
I have dedicated this book to all my friends but no one knows what it took for this book to be out there for you. Often time authors forget people who had worked so hard behind the scene to help make their dreams come true. Today I would like to thank the Citizen Advocacy for putting together this art show and giving many talented people and myself to display our work. I would also like to thank The Copie Resolutions who had printed the first book, The Heart Of Woman
as well as the current book, Dream Again
.
