About this ebook

There are two major forces that control the earth. Which one are you following? The question is, "What if?"

This book has been in the works for many years. Come and follow me on this journey.

It started many years ago as I was talking to God. I would ask myself questions about life, and then I started to wonder. One word that stuck

    Dedication

    For God and His Word.

For my wonderful parents, Johnnie and Janet Tanner (now passed), who showed me so much love.

For Jesus Christ, who saved me.

For the Holy Ghost, who teaches and guides me.

For my children, Mark and Violet Tanner, Alena and Jerry Smith, and grandchildren, Jadyn Smith, Bryson Smith, Jacey Smith and Gabriel Tanner, who are true blessings from God.

For TBN and their great preachers.

    For my husband, Herb Hoosier.

For my brothers, my church family, my relatives, and my friends.

I would also like to pay a special tribute to a church in our area that shows a multitude of love. This is not my church, but I admire what they do. This church is Zion Baptist Church of Chillicothe, Ohio, led by Reverend Dr. J. Troy Gray. Reverend Gray is always looking out for the community to see what can be done to help.

Zion Baptist Church has a food pantry and a clothing bank. In 2005, Zion held its first annual Christmas giveaway—the sanctuary was set up like a store with clothing, toys, electronics, and people lined up, not being required to prove their need and entering to shop for their children. In 2019, this event blessed over two thousand families.

Reverend Gray also launched a youth summer day camp to provide childcare for families. The children were offered an extensive academic and biblical curriculum and were taken on weekly field trips.

In 2007, Anointed Cuts, a barbershop, was opened in the church to help families out.

In January of 2011, Zion opened their Faith House, which provides housing for the homeless or offenders who have been released to complete a strict Christian model program as they transition back into society. In 2013, the Faith House transitioned into Another Chance Ministries, a transitional program for men struggling with adjusting back to society after drug addiction or incarceration.

Beginning in August 2020, Zion will partner with Ross County Christian Academy and will house a middle-high school.

Reverend Gray continues to help serve the community and the needs of others. He prays for whoever asks for prayers. After their church services, the church provides fresh vegetables in the lobby for whoever is in need or wants anything. Zion is a true example of what the love of Christ looks like. I just want to say thank you for all that you do.

    Foreword

I am delighted to write the foreword for What If? This book has been in the making since 2014. It felt like there were so many obstacles from then until now to get this published. The enemy loves to put roadblocks in our path so that we cannot fulfill the works of Christ. God knew that this book would be perfect for this right now moment that we are experiencing. When I say that my mom and our family have been through it, we have been through it. Through it all, she has persevered. My mom did not let these trials stop her from getting this book published. If anything, the trials motivated her even more. I am sure you will be just as blessed as I have been by this book. My mom has provided great insight into the two forces: light and dark. This book will cause you to open your eyes to the things that we often do not see, either because we choose not to or because we have not been made aware that these two things truly exist. I hope you take the time while reading this book to fully digest what she is saying. Let your mind imagine all of the things we as humans face in different situations and decide if they are of God—love—or if they are of the enemy—hate.

    Prologue

I first started this journey years before I had the thought of writing a book. After years of reading my Bible, listening to Christian messages, turning everything off, talking to God, and just listening, God deposited a lot of things into my spirit and I was urged to write it down so I would not forget. I started by writing on post-it notes. I have a collection of those posted on my wall. At first, it started with one-liners or just a few words. Then, I started writing things that would make a good book subject.

From reading my bible at night and talking to God, I continued to get more downloads from Him. Oftentimes, when I would be too tired at night and doze off, I would wake up—usually within the hour—to just read. Sometimes, when I would hear something, I would get so excited that it would be hard to even concentrate on the task at hand. At times, the excitement would leave me exhausted. I often found myself asking, God, why do people not see things the way I see them? I wondered if anyone else was asking those same questions and doing the same things. On my job, I traveled a lot, being a merchandiser. I would start talking to God and forget to even turn on the radio, driving for hours most
