    About the Author

    Prologue

F or most of my life, I never had a goal or even an inclination that I would write a book. There was a time years ago when I thought I might like to write and illustrate a children’s book, but that dream has long since died.

The seed of an idea for becoming an author was planted in me when I went to Christian International Church in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, to be ministered to—prophetically, that is. I’m talking about when a man or woman of GOD is so anointed by the Holy Spirit that they begin to speak what’s on the mind of GOD concerning your life for your general edification and encouragement. This doesn’t happen in some churches, and since I grew up in Southern Baptist churches, I’d never experienced such a thing for the entire first half of my life.

It was April 29th, 2005, and I stood inside Christian International Church in front of the lady who was ministering under the anointing of GOD, and she spoke these words right out of the clear blue, completely and totally unexpected by me:

And the LORD says, ‘You will write a book that will share my love and my heart to those that seem to be unlovable and are heartbroken because you see, daughter, I am bringing you into wholeness of heart because you feel like it has been broken into pieces and scattered around’. But the LORD says, ‘I’m even bringing health and healing and wholeness to your heart, and it will beat passionately again,’ says GOD. ‘For you are one that’s passionate for me,’ and the LORD says, ‘Surely, you will release this passion to many, and this book will be anointed by me daughter, not only for those that already know me to know me better but for those that don’t know me to come to know me because my love will be felt as they pick it up and touch it, and as they begin to read it, they will feel my love, and they will receive me as they never have before.’"

I thought to myself, this has to be a fluke, and I didn’t mean any disrespect towards the lady who ministered and certainly not towards my Heavenly Father, but, you see, other than the children’s book I mentioned earlier, I’d never thought about writing a book.

I have a degree in painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design. I work full time as a multimedia designer in the marine engineering field, and if I could choose my dream job, I’d be an artist or a filmmaker, not a writer. My hobbies and interests have always been reading, sewing, painting, multimedia/filming, and exercise—not writing …as if I could fit anything else into my already hectic life that included responsibilities in my church, a home in need of extensive repairs, a family, a full-time job, and a home business. Even so, I did not want to tell GOD that He didn’t know what He was talking about, so I went home, and I began to give this whole idea of writing some serious thought. I asked Him what I could write about so that people would understand how real He is and how great a love He has for them. And the answer came almost immediately:

Write about your passion for me. Write about how you came to have it. Write about the little things that you bring before me all thru your day. Write about how your heart was broken into little pieces and scattered all around. And then write about how you felt when your heart became whole again… how you felt when I touched you and made you whole.

And I thought to myself, that’s do-able. I began to write about some of my experiences with Him, and I assure you, I’ve had plenty of those, not because there’s anything inherently good about me, but solely because He is good.

I’d been keeping a journal off and on for a number of years so it wasn’t that new to me. Over the next few months I started trying to organize some of my experiences into a sort of book format. I guess I’d written about 15 pages when I went back to Christian International Church six months later with my husband.

The men in my church had scheduled a trip there, but it was cancelled by a very furious lady named Katrina, so Ernie, my wedded husband of 12 years, and I decided that we could make the trip ourselves and set off for the Florida coast to receive prophetic ministry. It was a rough trip since Ernie had injured his knee while cutting up limbs after the hurricane, but GOD opened up the heavens while we were there. Being from one of the hardest hit disaster areas, we were prayed for, ministered to, and completely flabbergasted when one of the pastors slipped us a one-hundred dollar bill!

Immediately after the late afternoon ministry, we attended a worship service. I don’t recall much about it except that it was a powerful worship experience. Afterwards, we stayed for another prophetic ministry meeting. It was then that the spirit of the Lord spoke through the same anointed woman of GOD who He’d used the first time. She spoke, yet again, to me about the book.

And the LORD says, ‘Daughter of mine, surely the book, the book, the book… the book is coming forth through you, and this is
