About this ebook

This book was written to help strengthen the faith of the Believers. Its purpose is to encourage those who feel as if what they have is not enough. It is to help those who are not secure in the power God has given them. As Christians, when we rely on our own power, we will become discouraged and discontent. We need to remove self and see we are nothing without the power of God. So many of us are waiting on God to do something but God is waiting on us! This book gives insight through scripture and inspiration. Theres no time like the present to try God and see God for Himself.

    INTRODUCTION

When you think of possessing power, what comes to mind? Is it far-fetched and unrecognizable? Does it carry V.I.P status? Do you not see yourself as being one who is filled with God’s amazing power? As children of the Most High, we all can experience the power of God in our lives.

One of the most recognizable stories in the Bible portraying God’s power is found in Daniel chapter 6. How can we forget the rousing story of Daniel in the lion’s den? It is a testament to just how good and powerful God is. It lets us know that God can turn things around in the midst of the very thing that tries to abolish us.

Here’s a quick Bible lesson. King Darius chose 120 captains to rule over all the people. Daniel was selected as one of the three leaders to rule over the captains. He demonstrated that as a front runner, he would be successful because of the spirit and power of God that moved through him. Because of this, King Darius gave him power over the whole nation.

As you can envision, the other leaders and captains had a problem with Daniel. They were desperate to find any fault with him. So these man came up with a plan. Ladies and gentlemen, some things never change. They conspired together to create a new law. It was a declaration forbidding anyone to communicate with any gods unless you were bowing down to King Darius. They asked the king to sign the law so that no changes or proposals could be made. What do you know? King Darius did just that. The penalty for defiance was torture in the den of hungry ruthless lions. Daniel, who stood in the truth of God and His Word, did not let the selfish jealous feelings of others stop him from praying to his Heavenly Father.

Because of Daniels disobedience, he was thrown into the lion’s den. King Darius declared: May your God, whom you serve continually, deliver you! A stone was laid at the entrance of the den to ensure that Daniel had no chance of escape. Because of the power of God, the lion’s mouths were shut. Because of the power of God, the lion’s fur became Daniel’s pillow. Because of the power of God, the lion’s den became Daniel’s dwelling place.

Only God’s power can change things for you. His power is present in unexpected places. Luke 10:19 says, Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you. Do you realize how equipped you are?

There’s no time like the present to embark, embrace and experience the power of God. This book was written to show ways we as believers can live with God’s exceeding power working through us and for us. I heard it put this way: You can be pitiful or you can be powerful; but you can’t be both. Which will you choose?

    CONSIDER THE SOURCE

¹⁶ So don’t be misled, my dear brothers and sisters. ¹⁷ Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.

    James 1:16-17 (New Living Translation)

Think of all the wonderful things that have happened in your life. Sometimes in the midst of our enjoyment we fail to consider the source of our blessings. Why is that? Have we become so self-satisfied that we think because of our hard work and countless hours of our time that what we have belongs to us? Have we become so insensitive that we expect God to do his part, at least? Have we become blind to see that we are not in
