Blessed Favored and Forever! - Corlissa Jackson

    Praying with No Mask

A mask is defined as a manner or expression that hides one true feeling or character; a pretense (Webster Dictionary). A mask is used to try to hide or cover up things in which we are afraid to let others see in us. Wearing a mask is the same as being untrue to yourself. My question for you today is What are you hiding? In today’s world, so many people are walking around with so many masks that cover up their insecurities, feelings, emotions, character, and even their spirituality in order to fit in with common society. Well, today is your clean-up day to finally throw your mask away. Listen, God already knows everything that you are hiding, for he created you in his own image. As the older generation used to say, You can’t hide from God. That’s absolutely correct you can’t hide from God no matter how hard you try. In addition, you can’t fool God either. In 1 Samuel 16:7 in the last portion of this verse it states, For the Lord seeth not as men seeth; for man looketh outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart (KJV). God knows of your shortcomings, insecurities, flaws, and faults.

That’s why God sent his son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins so that we might have everlasting life through him. Jesus has already conquered everything that the world thinks that is impossible. God loves you just the way you are, flaws and all. So, smile, and just know that God always hears a sincere prayer. By taking your mask off you are allowing God to reprove, change, wash, and purify you from all sins, impurities, iniquities, and transgressions. You are also allowing God to create in you a new heart and the right spirit. I know that the pain hurts and the pain is unbearable, but today I am here to encourage you by saying that it’s okay to take your mask off while praying to God. For the word says, That God is a spirit and you must worship him in spirit and in truth (John 4:24, KJV). In other words, he wants all of you and he wants you to be honest with him in all of your ways. So I know that you are wondering how can I release this mask I am wearing. You must first repent as John the Baptist cried to the people while being in the wilderness. Repent is coming into agreement with what God says in his holy word. Secondly, you must surrender your will into his hands. This means whatever plans or strategies that you might have for your life, God wants you to totally surrender to his will and ways. Trust me, God’s will for your life is perfect. Thirdly, you must develop a personal relationship with God through praying to him daily. God desires that constant communication with him so he can speak to you through your heart. Lastly, open up your heart to God’s unchanging love. God’s love is gentle and kind, and guess what it will never change no matter what you are facing in life. My friend, you don’t have to hide anymore. So, today begin a new day
