Hi, I’m Miriam Hurdle. I’m a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI). My poetry book received the Solo "Medalist Winner" for the 2019 New Apple Summer eBook Award and achieved bestseller status on Amazon. My children’s book was published in 2021.I grew up in Hong Kong where I finished college and worked for several years before coming to the United States. While in Hong Kong, I was a language instructor teaching Chinese as a Second Language in the Hong Kong Baptist University and the Chinese University of Hong Kong, as well as being the Director of the Children’s Department for Asian Outreach where I published four Children’s books.I earned a Doctor of Education from the University of La Verne in California. My career included two years of rehabilitation counseling, fifteen years of public-school teaching, and ten years in school district administration. In my retirement, I enjoy life with my husband in southern California and visit my daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughters in Oregon. My hobbies and interests are writing, blogging, gardening, photography, and traveling.
