An Invitation to Your Potential
Welcome artists, creatives, and friends.
Art MBA® is an idea I’ve been chewing on for the last 20 years while exploring a diverse career in the art industry. During that time, through coaching and working with thousands of artists, I kept witnessing and hearing the same scenarios unfold for newcomers in the creative arts, across a full range of geographic, demographic, and financial landscapes. Though we are all unique creatives, we face similar challenges in the arts. However, the resources and the information about how to overcome those common challenges are sadly lacking, even with the entire Internet at our fingertips.
Our educational system and our society have yet to produce relevant, affordable information that teaches aspiring artists and creatives the business of the art world. I experienced this lack of resources firsthand when I was new on the scene and trying to figure out how to forge a career in the arts. As a young woman, fresh out of college, with a liberal arts degree in studio art burning a hole in my hand, I was woefully ill-prepared for the realities of what lay ahead. Despite four years at a prestigious college, I wasn’t educated on how to get a job, how to market myself, how to navigate pitifully low salaries, or how to present myself to decision makers.
Hence began a still ongoing quest to arm myself with guidance and inspiration from whatever sources were available. I sought to educate myself and, in the process, came to understand how hard it is—not just for me but for anyone entering the art world for the first time—to find practical and valuable information.
That’s what Art MBA® is here to do. I want
