Choose Life That You Might Live
Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live! You can make this choice by loving the LORD your God, obeying Him, and committing yourself firmly to Him. This is the key to your life. And if you love and obey the LORD, you will live long in the land the LORD swore to give your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
Deuteronomy 30:19-20 (NLT)
Choose this day whom you shall serve.
It is Lucifer’s desire to steal and destroy every precious possession God owns. He will devise elaborate fabrications of great wonder. He will entice with the most compelling, the most convincing, the most thrilling, exciting, and appealing illusions to cultivate forbidden desires for sin. Spiritual death cloaked in appealing disguises of half-truths is created with the intent to compromise and weaken any fortified resistance of any born-again Christian. His goal is to convince born-again Christians to willfully commit to any action of unrighteousness. When foundations of righteousness slowly crumble and eventually weaken to the point of collapse, resistance will succumb to defeat. Completely unaware, an unrealized willingness to yield develops. Deceptive snares on a grand scale so unimaginable will ensnare many into making choices with regrettable consequences. Rather than fixing the problem, many will ignore what will turn into a potentially disastrous situation with regrettable consequences. Through deception, Lucifer wins. Lucifer is an amazing deceiver, capable of presenting the utmost vile of lies as the real truth.
Lucifer cannot force any born-again Christian to sin. He has to deceive or trick them into committing sin. He may even use others to pressure or coerce into committing sin. The fact is, Lucifer is the Father of Lies. This is Lucifer’s most powerful weapon of destruction. He knows how to concoct and craft the most perverted lies that will inflame the imagination and mindset of mankind. He skillfully targets the heart with despair, hatred, and hopelessness. He can develop the most devious and cunning traps and wrap them in extremely beautiful packages. It is the same story he presented to Adam and Eve. God won’t let you die. God didn’t mean what He said.
Just as Adam and Eve were deceived, so are many born-again Christians, though they know that what is offered to them is a poisonous fruit. The question now remains, will they stand strong with godly reason, or will they submit to the creation of inflamed passions or desires filled with evil imaginations? How strong of a desire does it have to be to take that first bite? On the opposite end of the scale of eternal life are the opposing forces of love. How great of a love relationship have you developed with the Lord? How strong, how passionate are your desires and your love for God? Is that impassioned love for the Lord strong enough to withstand the temptations Lucifer throws in front of you?
To those who realize a weakness in the strength of their love for God, how do they remedy the situation? Do they seek the Holy Spirit for His help and receive of Him that energizing fortification for the supernatural resistance and self-control over that temptation? Are Christians aware that they have access to a greater power that is exceedingly more powerful than any temptation presented to them? To tap into the greater depths of the eternal forces of God’s love, is this not the formidable choice of victory? There is power in the energies of God’s love. It is appropriated through willful acts of choice. A choice to obtain reinforcement or a choice to yield to the enticements of sin. Either way, it takes time to establish that desire. What you expose yourself to will carry that dominant influence and persuasion. Without seeking the Lord for His help, how can you possibly win? Now is the time to eat of the fruit of the tree of life. Now is the time to digest the energy of life. Now is the time to overcome and conquer death through Jesus Christ.
Lucifer will do his best to convince or deceive any born-again Christian into choosing freely of themselves actions of rebellion. Little actions of rebellion on their own may not amount to much concern, but they can pile up in the mass and become a dangerous burden. Then again, there are unintentional blatant acts of rebellion that produce severe dangers and consequences detrimental to one’s own existence. It is vital that Christians become aware that there is no one so spiritual that they cannot fall. This, too, is a deceptive illusion Satan will try to fortify. To convince Christians that they are spiritually stronger than they are and able to walk through a den of poisonous snakes without being bitten. Why should we dare go where the Holy Spirit will not go Himself? Why should we attempt to foolishly flex our own spiritual muscles to tread into areas forbidden of the Lord? If the Holy Spirit refuses to expose Himself to such evils, why do many Christians think they can get away with it? This is why the Lord Himself instructed His disciples to pray for deliverance from evil and temptation. Jesus said, …This is how you should pray…And don’t let us yield to temptation
(Luke 11:2-4 NLT). …rescue us from the evil one
(Matthew 6:13 NLT).
"And forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one" (Luke 11:4 NKJV).
"…and forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. And don’t let us yield to temptation" (Luke 11:4 NLT).
"And don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one" (Matthew 6:13 NLT).
It is important to realize that it is the relationship you have established with the Lord Jesus Christ that makes one unmovable. No matter how spiritual you may perceive yourself, this does not secure your salvation. It is Jesus Christ and your relationship with Him that secures your salvation.
Those who develop a personal relationship with the Lord are the most difficult to sway from their life of righteousness.
The ultimate outcome of any born-again Christian is dependent upon their freedom to choose.
Choose wisely.
Primary Purpose of This Testimony
Looking into the future is not exactly what I would call desirable. It carries a huge responsibility. And the benefits of knowing something before it happens require some sort of action, whether by you or someone else.
There is a dual application of prophetic prayer. There is foretelling, which is important in providing warnings and guidance. Then there is the forthtelling that provides the preparation and deliverance. They both hold positions of great importance.
The problem, though, is that there is an incredible lack of understanding pertaining to prayers that are forthtelling.
Prayers of foretelling reveal the conditions of the future.
Prayers of forthtelling change and create an altered future.
Though many regard foretelling as an ability of great magnificence and a gift of great achievement (of which it does have its place of great importance), it is not the crowning glory of ultimate achievement. It is not the foretelling that impresses God as much as it is the forthtelling that will capture His attention. If we do nothing to change the future for which the foretelling was given, then the gift of foretelling is practically useless. It is what you do with the information of prophetic insight that will save, protect, and prosper you.
Prayer is one of the most misunderstood and misused gifts provided to mankind. Mankind has grossly limited this powerful weapon. A weapon of incredible creation. God has placed a supernatural ability into the hands of His children that is extremely effective in changing, you might even say, creating the future. Every time an individual is transformed through the work of salvation, you have not only changed the future, but you have created a new future. Most born-again Christians are clueless of how prayer works or of what they can do with it. Therefore, it lies dormant. The desire to use or explore its vast expanse of creativity dies in stagnation. We must break free of the distressful pit of ignorance. We must climb into the glorious light of deliverance. The veil that covers our eyes must be removed.
We must search for God’s supernatural wisdom and revelation to boldly apply its operation and use. The ability to pray formidable prayers of great intervention requires spiritual illumination of God’s wisdom to awaken the supernatural forces of creativity. There is no limit or boundary capable of confining the power of prayer. There are more miracles birthed through prayer than you can possibly imagine. Considerable feats of the most magnificent accomplishments are endless. There are no limits to the infinite opportunities that await you. A true destiny of every born-again Christian is to learn how to speak, to pray things into existence. The ability to change or create the future has been placed into our hands. Glorious opportunities await the masters with clasped hands and bended knees. Manifestations within the realm of God’s glory await the prayers that release the power of God. The treasures of the kingdom of God are at our fingertips. The responsibility to pray rests upon the shoulders of every born-again believer.
Prayer is a key to a treasure box filled with riches from heaven. Those who turn that key will discover a wealth of unimaginable joy and fulfillment. Supernatural gems of magnificent splendor will adorn those who dare reach into the treasures of heaven. To appropriate precious answers to prayer are challenging feats of the diligent and the courageous. The Bible is a treasure map that reveals the way to discovery. Taking the future into your hands, you can pierce the unlimited realms of time and eternity. The treasures of heaven are yours for the taking.
Introduction
There is coming a great falling away. Every denomination. Every church. Every mission field. Every Christian will be sifted. There will be a major split in the church worldwide. Literally, the sheep will be separated from the goats. The bride of Christ will be prepared for the grand and glorious event known as the rapture. Those rejected will suffer seven years of horror never known to this planet.
To accomplish this separation, an event of immense cruelty will arise. Persecution. This will test many Christians and expose the true nature of their hearts. A notable chasm will develop between the righteous Christians and the wicked Anti-Christ Christians.
This book is to sound the alarm and provide safety instructions that will fortify and secure the garment of righteousness of every born-again Christian.
The purpose of this book is to provide insight into a weapon of tremendous value that has been placed in the hands of every Christian. When its potential is fully realized, this weapon will accomplish more supernatural miracles than anyone ever dreamed possible. The power and authority of prayer are invaluable weapons capable of providing miracles to which there is no end.
The time to prepare for the coming of the Lord is now. We must be rapture-ready.
The Days of Prayer
A Life’s Journey of Miracles
God’s Wings of Love
I was an adventurous five-year-old. I would explore the vast regions of our farm and journey into our woods. I loved making new discoveries. Finding weird bugs, special flowers and locating the wild strawberries was a real treat.
Traversing the wheat field that spring was an enjoyable expedition of wonder. Being surrounded by nature provided an opportunity to admire God’s wonders and talk with Him. I remember asking God a number of questions one afternoon while walking through the middle of the wheat field. As I talked with God, His presence enveloped my entire being with a powerful but gentle love. I could feel the caress of His soft and gentle wings. I could feel the powerful energy of the love that reached into the depths of my heart. I felt tremendous comfort and joy that filled my being. It was awesome. It was an experience that I will never forget. For a brief moment, I experienced a deeper love that was beyond human comprehension. I experienced a most powerful supernatural wonder. Such love, such peace, what an experience! He not only touched me with His presence, but I touched Him. I touched His heart and felt His love.
I am so thankful that as a child, I was taught the Scriptures and the reality of God. If I had not the knowledge that I had of God at that time, I do not know that I would have had such a close encounter with Him.
This truly was the beginning of my life’s journey of miracles.
The Miracle of the Cornfield (1955)
At an early age, I observed and experienced an incredible miracle of God’s hand of intervention through the lives of my parents. This special event took place on our farm in Indiana sometime during the summer.
I remember the family gathering around the radio listening to weather reports of a violent storm that was headed our way. My parents were very concerned. Such a storm could destroy the entire crop. The loss of income would have created a financial disaster. I was only five years of age. But what I observed will be etched in the memory files of my mind forever. I watched my parents walk out to the cornfield. I stood behind them and watched as they both raised their hands and prayed over the fields. I remember hearing their prayers. In prayer, they placed the field and the crops into God’s hands of protection. They sought deliverance from destruction.
Standing there, we observed dark menacing clouds in the distance. It was going to be one whopper of a storm. My parents did not take God for granted. They exercised their God-given right to utilize the most powerful gift that God had given them. The powerful weapon of prayer.
As the storm approached, we gathered ourselves into the house.
The winds roared. The trees bowed to relentless forces that thundered in the atmosphere. Hail hammered the earth in a brief fit of rage. Anxiety arose concerning the existing condition of the crops. Yet, there was a presence, a calm assurance that lingered in the air.
The storm had passed. Darkness turned into day. The necessity to survey the field was now in order. We had to investigate the fate of the crops and analyze the outcome in the aftermath of this violent storm.
To my surprise, I stood next to a field of corn stalks that were nearly twice as tall as I. An entire field was miraculously delivered from destruction. As we walked up a small hill, we could observe God’s hand of grace and protection. It was awesome. The crops suffered no damage at all.
To our amazement, only the width of a country road on our southern border separated us from total devastation. Westward, it was only a drainage ditch. On the north side of us, it was only a scraggly wire fence. As we inspected the fields around us, we observed total devastation. There was not one corn stalk standing upright anywhere in the fields around us. They all suffered heavy losses. Entire fields lay in ruins. Their corn had been blown and beaten to the ground. The brutality of this storm was relentless.
It was as if a protective bubble had covered our entire field. It was very evident that the dividing lines between us and our neighbors were very deliberate.
Throughout the whole area, there were literally hundreds—if not thousands—of acres of crops that had been destroyed. Our farm sat right in the middle of devastation. The crops in our field had been sheltered under God’s protective hands.
What was a little bit concerning was the realization that nearly all the farmers around us were Christians. Here exists a great mystery. Why? Why were their fields not protected? Why did not God spare their crops as He did ours?
The whole community saw what happened. They marveled at the situation presented before them. Various thoughts and contemplations concerning this miracle raced from one individual to another as waves in the ocean. With several, emotions ran high. Even the church became a battleground of contention.
I remember well the first Sunday after our miracle. As we entered the local church, we were greeted by a deacon. Not with a pleasantry, but with hatred and rage. He was one of our borderline neighbors that lost all of his crops. With hatred and contempt, he bellowed, Who do you think you are? What makes you think you are any better Christians than the rest of us? What makes you so special that God would protect your crops and not ours? I’ll have you know I’ve been a deacon in this church for thirteen years! God should have spared my crops rather than yours!
Jealousy and persecution reared their ugly heads among several individuals in the community. Sadly, the most hateful individuals were professing Christians.
I do not know the reason why God did not spare their crops, I can only speculate. But I do know that we did not take God for granted, and we did activate protection through prayer as we were led by the Holy Spirit.
A Friend in Need of Rain
One evening I received a phone call from a friend who lived in Tipton County. He was a farmer, and his crops were suffering from drought conditions that lingered over the county. He had a large farming operation. He had a lot to lose if the drought continued.
He asked me to pray for him. He asked me to pray for rain for his crops. I then asked him how much rain he needed. He stopped, thought for a moment, and said, I could use a good two inches of rain.
I said, Alright, I will come in agreement with you for two inches of rain.
Then we prayed, claiming two inches of rain for his crops. It was that simple. We simply took authority over the weather and claimed that it would produce two inches of rain for his farm.
Two days later, late in the evening, I received a phone call from him. An isolated rainstorm just moved through the area. And he was excited. He told me that he had just placed a new rain gauge on a fence post at one of his fields. He had just read the rain gauge and was quite elated. What he observed was a miracle. The rain gauge read two inches.
My curiosity got the best of me. I asked if I could come out and see the rain gauge for myself. He was eager that I came out. When I arrived, he showed me where he had placed the rain gauge. I went out to the field, and on the fence post, I saw that the new rain gauge gave a reading of two inches. The water level was exactly on the two-inch mark. What I and my friend observed was nothing short of a miracle.
Once again, we saw a demonstration of the power of prayer over weather conditions.
My Mother and the Baptist Farmers
I shared with my mother about the prayer of agreement with my friend. I relayed how we took authority in prayer for the needed rain for his crops. I told her about how we were specific in asking for what we needed and of how we saw God perform a miracle.
It was about two weeks later that my mother was asked to speak in a Baptist church north of Marion. She was asked to share about a personal miracle that she had received of the Lord herself. At the closing of the service, she asked if there were any prayer requests. There were two farmers that responded. Both farmers were in need of rain for their crops. They both were experiencing drought situations on their farms. My mother then asked each one of them how much rain they thought they needed for their farms. The one farmer said he needed at least two inches of rain. The other farmer said he could use an inch and a half. My mother then came in agreement with them about the amount of rain that they requested.
A few days later, someone called my mother to give her a praise report. She said it was amazing, a small rainstorm moved through the area, and each farmer got what he requested. One rain gauge recorded two inches of rain. The other rain gauge recorded one and a half inches of rain. Both farmers witnessed a miracle through the power of prayer.
The amazing thing about this type of praying is that they did not simply pray for rain. They prayed specifically for how much rain they wanted. This was a type of prayer where the authority of the believer had charge in this prayer event. There are certain types of prayer where the authority of the believer has to be demonstrated in specifics. There are times when prayers have to identify specific needs. I do not completely understand how all of this works. All I know is that it does work. I have personally witnessed several situations in which the believer had authority over the weather. Jesus Himself is the prime example that demonstrated how the weather was a controllable event through prayer.
Talking to the Storms
There are many situations in which a believer in Jesus Christ can speak to violent storms. There is one Christian brother that shared with me how he watched a tornado approach his house with a determined course of destruction. He shared how he spoke to that tornado in the name of Jesus and commanded it to go back up into the clouds. Taking a bold stand with the authority of Jesus, he watched the tornado lift off the ground and ascend back into the clouds. He watched it pass over his house and then come down again on the other side. His home was spared.
Vision of Violent Storms
During one prayer meeting, I was shown a vision of a map of the United States. The vision focused on three adjoining states. I saw three destructive thunderstorms moving from one state and into two others. In the vision, I witnessed the presence of several tornadoes. I also realized that the storms were supernaturally engineered by demonic forces. I was made aware of the need to pray against the storms on behalf of God’s children. I turned to my fellow prayer partners, explained to them what I had just seen, and asked them to come in agreement with me in prayer against these storms. It was the Holy Spirit that revealed the need for intercessory prayer.
The following morning the storms made front-page news. There was a big picture showing satellite images of the three states and the destructive path of the storms. The newspaper, unbeknown to them, had printed a picture of the vision that I was shown the previous evening. There is
