The Woman Within

The woman within—who is she? The Bible says she was created in his image (Genesis 1:27). What image do you see? I often wonder who this woman is. For a long time, the woman I saw walked around as if she had it all together but was truly broken. I searched for answers and questioned if I would ever find them. Have you ever asked yourself, Who am I? On the road to discovering my true identity, I discovered I already possessed everything I needed to heal and restore my battered and torn spirit. Before I received this revelation, I wanted to throw in the towel. I simply did not believe I had anything of value to offer anyone. I was always looking at others wishing I had what they had; constantly questioning, their secret for having it all? What made them so brilliant, so radiant and me so dull?

Somewhere deep inside I knew it wasn’t makeup that made people so innately beautiful. Yet, I continued searching all the wrong places for the secret or the wonder drug that would take all my pain away. My pain was so deep within and I did whatever I could to mask it.

Who was this woman within me? She was looking for something or someone to heal her. One day a voice said to me, I have what you need. Your search is over! That voice was my Heavenly Father saying, I have what you need, Sandra. If only I could believe it. I was ready to make a change in my life but didn’t know how. The day God spoke to me was amazing. He said:

I know all about your hurts. I knew you before you were born. I know you now and I created you in my image. It was I who protected you when they tried to steal your soul and break your spirit. It was I who provided for you when you did not know how you were going to make it. I held you all those nights you cried and thought no one cared. It was my voice you heard when you were ready to throw it all away. I am here, my daughter. Let me give you what you’ve been searching the world for—

high and low. For you, I have the gift of eternal life. For you, I have all the gifts of my Holy Spirit. These are the gifts of healing and restoration. Receive my gifts and you will live the life I always intended for you.

When God spoke to me, it was the beginning of my journey to finding the woman within. Who am I now? I am God’s daughter. I am utterly adored by the Creator of the Universe who has blessed me with the mastery of everything within it—and girl, the good news is: So are you! You too are God’s daughter. You too have been blessed with all the gifts of God—if only you can believe it. The gifts of God are so precious. God gave gifts to me so I would be healed and restored in spirit, mind and body.

Have you been hurt by people and circumstances in your life? This is not God’s will. Have you been used, abused, and left confused? This is not God’s purpose for your life. Do you live with burdens of guilt and shame stemming from a past you cannot change? This is not how God intends for you to live. Do you often question who you are and why you are here? You are not without remedy. God has every answer you desire. It starts with the woman within. You are his precious daughter. You are here to fulfill a divine purpose through God Almighty!

There is a woman out there who has been hurt physically, emotionally, spiritually, or maybe all of the above. She feels so alone. She is weighed down by needless guilt and shame and she is convinced no one cares about her. She cries herself to sleep almost every night. God is right there with her; but she does not feel His Presence. There is a woman out there. She used to be me. Is this woman you?

If you have the courage to confront the real issues in your life, in seeking you shall find the God of revelation, restoration, and healing. Yes, God has a gift for you! This gift is undeserved, not asked for but selected with you in mind, sealed with the tape of His love, and paid for on Calvary with Jesus’ Blood. Just
