John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit! And you shall receive POWER when the Holy Spirit has come upon you!

If you are tired of lacking and limping through life then you need to realize the importance of receiving the baptism in the Holy Spirit. Many confuse the fact that we receive the Holy Spirit when we accept Christ as our personal savior with being baptized in the Holy Spirit. Yes, we do receive the Holy Spirit when we accept Christ but God desires for us to go further into His plan and submit ourselves totally and completely to Him by allowing the Holy Spirit to take over our lives completely. I implore you in the name of Jesus to open up your hearts and minds to learn more about the Holy Spirit and His role in our lives. In every case throughout the word of God men and women could not be used in a mighty way until they were filled and baptized with the Holy Spirit (Jesus, Paul, Disciples etc.). Even the prophets and leaders of old could not be used or given power until the Spirit of the Lord came upon them (Luke 4:18)! Ephesians 5:18 says, Do not be drunk with wine…but be filled with the Spirit! It seems as though the church has become powerless today and it’s all due to the fact that Christians have become powerless. The problem we face is; we don’t preach or teach where the power comes from today. We are excited to offer this powerful Holy Spirit teaching to all who dare to open up their hearts and minds and sacrifice their time to receive what God is preparing for us at His table.

About The Author

Dr. Baldock began his ministry in March of 1971. In March of 1973 Dr. Baldock began in full time ministry. He and his wife Julie have been married for thirty-five years. They have seven grown children, Rick, Tammy, Tracy, Rhonda, Alicia, Michael and Ashley. He and Julie also have several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dr. Baldock has pastored nine churches; four of which he pioneered and built from the ground up. Dr. Baldock has four earned Doctorate Degrees, and one Honorary Doctorate.

Dr. Baldock is currently traveling around to different churches, teaching and preaching the word of God. He attends the Sanctuary Church in Beach Grove - Indianapolis, Indiana. He taught for several years with the International College of Bible Theology and with Midwest Seminary. He taught at the School of the Prophets in Poplar Bluff Missouri for about four years and he taught about two to three years at The Lion of Judah in Malden Missouri.

Dr. Baldock is a gifted preacher and teacher of the Word of God. He enjoys working with pastors and church leaders to train and raise up leaders in the local church. He enjoys helping to restore pastors and leaders who have fallen on hard times and are in need of getting back up.

We were missing the leading and guiding of the Holy Spirit’s power in our church. Do you really know what happened to you when you gave your heart and life to Jesus and was saved?

Do you understand the great things that happened to you and the gifts of God that was bestowed to you?

Born of the Spirit WHAT HAPPENED TO ME WHEN I GOT SAVED?

Introduction

The Lord had put in my heart the need for understanding and for Getting Acquainted with the Holy Spirit. It is a concern that I have that there is a lack of knowing the Holy Spirit, knowing who He is, knowing His names, knowing His works, knowing His fruit, knowing His gifts and then knowing the purpose of being baptized in Him and how to receive The Baptism in the Holy Spirit.

This has been an enjoyable task, a task that has been directed by the Holy Spirit Himself. I greatly desire for every believer to have a clear understanding of the Holy Spirit and to allow Him (The Holy Spirit) to lead guide and direct them in their everyday living. For this to happen, a person must first be born again, that is to say being Born of the Spirit. There are several things that happen to a person when they receive Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. The first part of this study deals with some of the things that transpire in the life of the believer upon being born again which is being born of the Spirit.

As we begin this study you will find out that there is nothing we can do in our own strength to apply any of these things to our own life. It is a work of the Holy Spirit because of the Finished Work Of Jesus Christ at the Cross. The cross is the means and Jesus Christ is the source of all that we (the believer) will ever receive in our life. Jesus Christ and the Cross must be the object of our faith if we are to walk in the Spirit and live a life of ultimate victory.

I see so many believers struggling in their everyday living and victory continues to elude them. There can be several major reasons for this:

A lack of understanding of what Jesus Christ accomplished at Calvary

Wrong teaching, or a lack of teaching of scriptural truth

The object of faith, being in something other than the Cross and what Jesus Christ did there.

These are just a few of the things that are in the way of the believer to walk in the victory that Jesus Christ has brought to each of us.

This victory begins with being ‘Born Again". I don’t mean to sound redundant, but I do want to drive home the point and the importance of allowing Jesus Christ to be your personal Savior. To experience the Baptism in the Holy Spirit which will enable you, the believer, to have ultimate victory in the life you now live in Christ. So, let’s get started on our journey to Getting Acquainted with the Holy Spirit!

You Must Be Born Again

Why must a person be born again, and what does it mean to be born again? Jesus was asked this very question by a man named Nicodemus who was a Pharisee. Many believe that Nicodemus was one of the three richest men in all of Jerusalem. He was also a Ruler of the Jews. Let’s examine the conversation between Nicodemus and Jesus Christ. John 3:1-7

There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus a Ruler of the Jews The same came to Jesus by night and said unto Him, Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God for no man can do these miracles that You do, except God be with Him."

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a man be born again he cannot see the Kingdom of God.

What was Jesus saying to Nicodemus when He said You must be Born again? What does it mean to be born again?

The term Born again refers to the fact that man has already been born with a natural (fleshly) birth. However he (man) is in need of a Spiritual birth. This is due to the fall of Adam and man dying spiritually, meaning man became separated from God and was dead spiritually. See Genesis 2:17. Being Born Again is being born of the Spirit and coming into fellowship with God. This is made possible by The Finished Work of Jesus Christ at The Cross. and a person believing (Having Faith) in what Jesus Christ did there.

"Nicodemus said unto Him, How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?

By the questions of Nicodemus we can determine that he had no idea of what Jesus was speaking of. As much learning that he had it is obvious that he did not understand the Prophets when they spoke of the circumcision of the heart See Deut. 30:6; Jeremiah 4:4. Jesus began to explain how being born again is possible.

Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto you, You must be born again.

What was Jesus saying here? First the term Be born of Water is not speaking of water baptism but rather a natural birth. That is the birth when you and I came into this world as a baby from our mother’s womb. The term Born of the Spirit consists of a "Spiritual birth which can only be brought about by God Himself. I have always thought of it as being born from the womb or loins of God. This birth, once again, is made possible by what Jesus Christ did at the Cross.

When I Receive Jesus Christ As My Lord And Savior And I Am Born Again, What Happens To Me?

This question brings an excitement to me. So many do not understand what takes place in the Spirit for everyone who is born again. There are several things that take place but I want to look at and examine five distinct things that happen to the believer when they are born again. I am convinced without any doubt that these five things are so important for the believer to know and understand in order to walk in a life of victory. The enemy would like to keep you and I from an understanding of not only what happens when we are born again but also not to walk in what Jesus Christ accomplished for us at Calvary. Ignorance is a deterrent to a life of victory. The only way to clear up any kind of ignorance is to be open for learning. That is, to receive revelation of the word of God by the Holy Spirit.

I remember a time in my youth when I was pastoring my first church. We had a dear sister in the church that was going about telling a vision she thought God had given her. It was beginning to cause some confusion in the church so I approached her concerning the situation. After her and I spent some time talking and her explaining to me what she thought God had shown her I responded by telling her she was ignorant to the way God works in those particular situations. Well, needless to say she went directly to her husband and told him I called her ignorant. After the service was over her husband approached me and began to set me straight concerning what I said to his wife. I will never forget my response. I said, brother I was really giving your wife a compliment, I could have said she was stupid but, there is a vast difference between being ignorant and being stupid. I proceeded by telling him that when a person is ignorant that ignorance can be cleared up by some teaching however when a person is stupid they won’t take any teaching because most of the time they think they are always right. He said he understood what I was trying to accomplish and the matter cleared up somewhat.
