    Forward

In society today, there is a lack of well-equipped people of faith in God. There are so called warriors of Christ who have no understanding of how to defend their faith, who do not have any resources outside of the Bible to help them to understand how ancient-texts apply to modern times.

This book does not assume any experience at reading or understanding the Bible or biblical context. The goal here is not to transmit historical knowledge or textual insight, rather it is to provide a basic understanding of biblical principles as it relates to us nearly 2 millennia after Jesus’ teaching.

This book is intended for people who are new believers, those who are unsure of their faith and thinking about it, those who may have lost their way and even those faithful believers who simply need a refresher.

It is also not meant to be a devotional but more of a study resource or sermon starter. The mission of this book is evangelical. It is meant to introduce a basic unveiling of selected scriptural verses that can be applied to modern day believers, in hope that it leads all readers to a life-changing experience with Jesus.

What are the benefits of Bible study sermons?

By regularly expounding the Word of God, you will train and equip groups of people who will know Scripture and how to apply them to daily situations. Further, you will not only remind them of who they are in Christ and how to glorify God, but you will also train them to think like Jesus taught.

What is the purpose of a Bible study or sermon?

Biblical studies or sermons address various scriptural, theological, and or moral topics, usually expounding on a type of belief, law, or behavior within both past and present contexts. Elements of the Bible study or sermon often include exposition, exhortation, and practical application.

Why is understanding the bible important for believers?

Because it familiarizes us with, and helps us grasp, the whole of Scripture, and it keeps our souls energized, deepening our understanding of specific Bible passages; it helps us sort through hard concepts and gives insight into the context of the Bible.

I challenge you to take each topic further than what is given. Use each topic as a discussion, a beginning bible study or the start of a sermon. Whichever way you choose to use these topics, they are great beginning teaching tools. This book does not always use the period context of what was happening at the time the Scripture was written. But as you explore each topic, it is helpful to think of how things were, how life was lived and how the Word was taught almost 2000 years ago.

This resource is created to get you started with topics that some people have a difficult time addressing but is nowhere near a complete discussion of each topic. I hope you enjoy the kick start to exploring bible study. God bless!

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

    Dedication

This book is dedicated to all those who have inspired me to write about various topics to help them grow in faith. Thank you, Chris, Scott, Michael, Eric, Randy, Josh, Denis, Shawn, Sondra, John, Dan and many others.

I dedicate, with reverence, this simple book of bible study resources to my family, that without them and the continued love they share, my ministry and this book would not be possible.

And finally, I would like to thank my Heavenly Father, who planted the first seed of an idea and watered it as it continued to grow.

By You I have been sustained from my birth; You are He who took me from my mother’s womb; My praise is continually of You. (Psalm 71:6)

    Introduction

This book is a culmination of Bible study resources that is full of many short sermons to help you grow in God. As Christians, one of the most important things we can do to overcome in this life is to become strong in God by studying His word. This book will provide an assortment of information that will help you to be prepared and knowledgeable in the word of God.

Our purpose is to bring glory to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through consistent worship, by our praise and in our lives; to cultivate a life of intimacy with God; and to equip women and men for ministry through the power of the Holy Spirit.

In order to accomplish this task, we must have diligent study time to help us grow and be knowledgeable enough to become God’s warriors and defenders of the kingdom of heaven. We cannot do this without good study resources.

While this book does cover various topics, they are by no means full length study sermons. These are meant to
