    Special Thanks

I want to extend a special thanks to those who have encouraged me to keep writing and to those who have been supportive of this ministry. To Apostle Anthony and first Lady Connie Williams, Pastors of the Lion of the Tribe of Judah Ministries. It was that great ministry that got me started publishing my writings. To Pastors, Tim and Deanna Agee and the great congregation of the Sanctuary Church in, Beech Grove/Indianapolis, Indiana. To Mel and Erin Glenn who has been so supportive especially Erin who put up with all the hours Mel and I have spent to gather. To Mark and Marcella Agee, without, which this project could not have happened. Then, of course, my beautiful wife Julie, who has been by my side for the last thirty-six years. Thanks to all of the people that God has placed in our path to keep this ministry alive and progressing!

    Thank You So Very Much

    Introduction

    Image4401.jpg

In the great ‘Hall of Fame of Faith’ (Heb. 11) the writer speaks plainly of those who were pilgrims in the faith. They were a people who lived their life by faith in the promises of God. They lived looking for a better country! They looked toward the ‘Cross!’

"Theses all died in faith (looking toward the cross) not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth

For they say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.

And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.

But they now desire a better country, that is, a heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for He hath prepared for them a city. Hebrews 11:13-16

The above passage of scripture reveals the mindset of the ‘Pilgrim’s of the faith. Within the following pages we are going to examine the attributes of ‘A Pilgrim of Faith!’

Rand House Webster’s College Dictionary, defines a pilgrim as; a person who journeys, a long distance to some sacred place as an act of religious devotion, a traveler or wanderer, in a foreign place.

These Pilgrim’s of faith were traveling for more than a religious fulfillment, they were searching for spiritual fulfillment! When I think of a pilgrim, I think of a person who blazes a trail; an adventurous person; one who is fearless; an explorer. A pilgrim is a person who is not afraid to take chances, make changes, and/or do something different than thee ordinary. A pilgrim’s faith will take a person to places they have never been. When fear does arrive, the pilgrim will keep their goal in front of them and not get detoured.

The day that a person receives Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, they will begin their journey of faith, that is, ‘A Pilgrim’s Faith!’ As believers, we are pilgrims traveling through this life, and what a travel it is! Remember, the believer is not of this world, even though we are in it (John 15:19). It is the way we travel in faith that will determine our destiny and where we travel that determines our spiritual success!

When I think of a pilgrim, I am reminded of a song recorded by Steven Curtis Chapman, ‘The Great Adventure!’ There is a phrase within this great song that reminds me the ‘The Christian Pilgrimage!’ It says, ‘Saddle up your horses we’ve got a trail to blaze!’ What a Challenge!

Within the following pages, I want to extend a challenge, you, the believer to begin blazing the trail of ‘A Pilgrims Faith!’ I will be sharing with you some of the things concerning and walking in a "Pilgrims’ kind of faith. Within each proceeding chapter we will take you on a journey that will reveal a new dimension of faith! So, let’s get started!

    Chapter 1

    The Pilgrimage!

There was a group of English separatist who became known as the Pilgrims. The leader of the Pilgrims was a man by the name of William Bradford. They disagreed with the religious teachings of the Church of England.

The Church of England was in concert with the Government of England. King James 1 was the head of both the country and the church. Anyone
