Cindy Wahler, PhD, is a leadership consultant with broad based experience in positioning organisations for success within both the private and public sectors. She places an emphasis on developing next generation leaders as well as seasoned senior executives. She has worked for a wide variety of Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies representing a cross-section of industry sectors.

Introduction
We often get asked what it means to have mastery at work and how to have the greatest positive impact on those we lead. The answer differs according to where the organisation is relative to its business cycle and growth strategy. There are a set of core skills or leadership habits that are pertinent to success. Our objective is to take these leadership attributes from conceptual notions to actual behaviour based skills.
This book presents a unique offering from other business books on leadership by explicitly identifying which habits or skills you will need to succeed in your career. The good news is that these skills are all measurable and actionable. The premise for these habits is to start with focused attention and concerted practice. You can learn how to incorporate these habits into your lexicon of leadership skills over time.
The intent is to make these habits second nature and call upon them depending upon who you are leading. Understanding the heart and soul of the people you are working with is paramount, especially if you want to attract and work with the very best of talent.
