Rosa Ella Holmes

Rose Ella Holmes was born on March 24, 1945. She was raised in the low country of Charleston, South Carolina in the small town of Lincolnville, South Carolina. She is the daughter of the late Reverend Eddie and Mattie Salley. She comes from a large family of thirteen children. She attended the local schools in the area and graduated high school in 1964. As a child, she attended a little wooden church called Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. While there, she sang in the church choir with her mother. In April of 1966, she was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Franklyn Holmes. God blessed her with four children from the union. Rose has dedicated her life to Christ. She is a member of Ashely Missionary Baptist Church and attends mid-week services at Chapel of the Holy Spirit. Rose earned her Associate of Theology from the Holy Spirit Bible School in May of 2000. She is a licensed Minister with the Ministerial Fellowship of Holy Spirit Bible School. Rose is an Evangelist and love ministering the word of God through music by singing. She sings appelle and writes many of the songs that she sings. She was an official greeter for Wal-Mart. Rose has a smile for everyone she meets and greets. She uses her position as greeter to witness to all that patron the store. She resides in Ladson, South Carolina with her daughters, son, and grandchildren.

This is my testimony of what God has called me to do for the furtherance of His kingdom. This is what God has called each and every one of us to do. Witness Christ to the lost souls. Through spreading His word, through music, through prayer and through the life we live. God has allowed me to be a beacon in a world so much in need of His light and salvation. The following pages are filled with the doors He’s opened in order for me to be the servant I have become through His guidance, love, and strength.

I’m not a writer, however, God has led it upon my heart to share the miracles I’ve had the privilege to be a part of. May you be encouraged, strengthened, and feel His love reaching out to you through this book.

Chapter One

Where it all begin

In 1979, I started working for Wal-Mart, one of the biggest chain stores in the world. I worked for three or four years and then had to quite due to illness. I stayed home during this time, became hooked on "Soap Opera’s’’. How depressed I was then!

I was sitting in my kitchen one day watching the soaps when I heard a voice speak to me saying: Why are you wasting your time watching these soaps when I heard a heard a voice speak to me saying: Why are you wasting your time watching these soaps when you could be reading your Bible? I immediately turned the television off and went to get my Bible. I began reading my Bible and to this day haven’t wasted my time watching the ungodly garbage, The Soaps", anymore. God took the desire to sit in front of my television away and replaced it with a desire to study his word. He took one desire away and replaced it with a righteous desire.

I began studying God’s word daily. One Monday evening I was studying the word and God spoke to me once more saying, Rose, your soul needs to be revived. I thought on this and went to my bedroom and sat down. Once again, I heard the same voice, I got up and went back to the kitchen. The voice spoke to me again, only louder this time! He said, I told you your soul needs to be revived!!!

I cried out to the Lord and said I don’t know where there is a revival being held. The voice responded saying, Call your sister-in-law. Instantly I knew exactly which sister-in-law he wanted me to call. I called her and she said that there was a revival that week, however, it was far away from where I
