8:28: Perfect Timing
()
About this ebook
How can a broken clock be right more than twice a day? Watch the hands move.
Is a broken clock right only twice a day? Well, that depends on location. Since we have different time zones, a clock could be right twenty-four times each day! And like a clock, God uses hands to show His time and demonstrate that it is impeccable.

Thank God for this amazing opportunity to serve people in this unique way. I am in awe. I am grateful! To my husband, Gregory Oliver Williams, I am amazed at how God brought us together and has blessed us to continue to love each other through Him. To my children, Ilyria, Gabrielle, Kyle, and Robert Jr., I am honored that God chose me to be your mother, and I am expecting great things for you as you continue to walk with God. I pray that God continue to bring the right people in your lives and remove the wrong people from your lives. I love you to infinity…and beyond! To my parents, Bishop Ira and Emma Campbell, thank you for teaching me how to go beyond religion and have a relationship with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Things really do go better with love. Nothing can take the place of the love I have for you. To my brothers, Jimmy Brown Campbell and Timothy Campbell, thank you for loving me through my craziness and always having my back. I am grateful to be born in the middle of the best big brother and little big brother in the world. To my best friend, Tempie, and my circle of friends (you know who you are), thank you for being true friends through it all. And to all my godchildren (Jamecia, Doniyah, Riley, Chase, Jarius Jr., Jamius, Zion), my mentees (Cellos, BeBe, Ronika, Lionel, Michelle), G Phi G, TCMS Gospel Choir, Music Experience members, MNW Boys and Girls Club, and every student I have had the honor of teaching, may God continue to use you as you find and fulfill your Kingdom purpose.
I dare not try to name each person in this acknowledgment. Therefore, I want to give an additional special thank-you to all my family and friends in the Brooks, Thomas, Mitchell, Lowndes, Grady, and Leon County areas who have supported me over the years. I love you! Thank you for being you and letting me be me. I would also like to thank some special ministries, and their First Ladies, that have blessed me over the years. Jesus Did It…Again!
Introduction
This book, 8:28: Perfect Timing, is a minute-by-minute daily devotional book inspired from the scripture Romans 8:28. All things, good and bad, happen in time, as explained in Ecclesiastes, and that timing is God’s perfect plan. There is a time to be born, a time to die, and all the time in the middle. This book connects time with Biblical scriptures in order to remind readers that the Word of God is still the answer no matter what time
it may be in their lives. The first twelve books
are from 1:00 to 12:00. The second twelve books
are from the Military Time
section and contain hours 13:00 to 24:00. The follow-up section, entitled In the Meantime,
includes scriptures that may not be found within the traditional timing system. These scriptures are to be used for those times that do not have a scripture, the empty
times.
During the process of creating this book, I felt like surely I would have a Bible verse for every time.
As I got further into the book, however, I realized that there would be some blank spots. I thought about what I should do with these empty times,
and I was reminded of the following scriptures: Deuteronomy 4:2, Deuteronomy 12:32, and Revelation 22:18. Therefore, I did not add things that I thought needed to be added. Neither did I remove things that I thought did not need to be included. I believe that God Himself will give you the perfect word for you right at the perfect time. And because of who He is, this experience will be different for every person reading this book, and it will work for your good.
I remember waking up around three o’clock in the morning. I couldn’t sleep, so I went to my phone to watch a video. One of the suggested videos was a live church service from another country. As I tuned in, I was led to look at the clock again—it was 3:28. I thought nothing of it at first, but then something told me to see what time it was there: it was 8:28 according to their time. This example reminded me that God is everywhere all the time. When it is not 8:28 here, it is 8:28 somewhere, and He is always working it out for our good. It may not always feel good, but it is for our good. He is so much smarter than we are. He knows the end from the beginning, and he is already waiting at the finish line with our medal. Upon further exploration, I discovered that there are twenty-four regular time zones. Wow! 24 times zones, 24 hours in a day! That’s 24 times a day that He keeps repeating the same things through scripture to us all around the world! As an educator, I know how important repetition is, especially to those who struggle to understand. Therefore, I am grateful that God is the Master teacher who won’t give up on us even if we are difficult students. He truly does not want anyone to be left behind.
This book also includes a calendar to help you connect each day of the year to a special Word from God. My prayer is that you will use this tool to help you see what God is saying at various times in your life, because He is always speaking, although we are not always listening. I believe that each person will experience this tool differently because His omniscient and omnipresent excellence has predestined moments specifically for each person. Therefore, use the pages within your book to document special times in your life as a unique way to journal about your own personal messages from God, then leave your powerful testimonies to inspire future generations.

TESTIMONY TIME
Live Through Rejection
He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
—John 1:11
Growing up in South Georgia was fun! I spent most of my time running up and down that dirt road, jumping ditches, and playing in our castle.
I was surrounded by so many people who were genuine and found joy in the simple things in life. It wasn’t until I went to school that I realized I didn’t fit. It began to feel like I was not enough. I am not exactly sure how classes were set up back then, but I know that my test scores were a little high. My class had very few black children. I was really okay with that because I did not really see us as being different. But it was in this environment that I began to understand that I was different.
I remember being really excited about attending a birthday party for one of the girls in my class, only to realize that I would not get an invitation. When one of my other friends saw how hurt I was, she went up to the birthday girl to ask her why. Her response was that her mom said she didn’t want any grease in her pool. I felt like I was not good enough. No grease in her pool? I had the driest jerry curl in America. That would not have been a problem. I later realized that I just did not fit.
Needless to say, I was hurt. So I tried to hang with people that looked like me. But because I talked different and walked different, I was told I acted white. As an adult, I remember being at work and having someone asking me, Why do you walk like that?
She said I twisted too much. My response was, You will have to ask God, because He made me walk like this.
With age came more confidence, I guess, because as a young child I felt like I was not black enough. So then I set out to prove that I was black and make people see that I fit. I did not. It seemed like the more I continued to live life, the more I realized that I was simply not enough. I was extremely skinny, so I tried to gain weight. I remember eating an eight-piece-chicken box and still not gaining an ounce. I wasn’t thick enough. My hair was not accepted as being beautiful because it was short and nappy. So I tried every perm, product, and wig to make it acceptable. I felt like my hair was not good
enough. I am an introvert, so I put myself in many uncomfortable situations just to hang out. I felt like I wasn’t outgoing enough. I was the tall girl in elementary school, so I stood out. I was also what many would call a tomboy. Because of that fact, there were times when I felt like I wasn’t girly enough. Even in church, I felt lost. If I worshiped too hard or too loud, people would think I was doing too much.
If I just sat there and barely moved during worship, people would think that I didn’t appreciate God. I felt like my worship was not enough.
In His Perfect Time I Realized
I am fearfully and wonderfully made! I am a masterpiece, forward and backward! Life is like this giant puzzle, and I am just a piece. But because of my Heavenly Father, I am an original piece that must accept all my unique qualities so that the other pieces
in my life that are supposed to join me can make Kingdom connections that Glorify God! There will be some places that you do not fit. Don’t be puzzled. It is alright. Those are not your people. Those are not your places. Stop fitting in when God created you to stand out! God will use all of it to work for your good. I pray that God brings the right people in your life and removes the wrong people daily. As you read the Word of God, I pray that He order your steps so that your piece is rotated and placed in the right position of your life’s puzzle. And when that final piece of the puzzle is added and the puzzle is complete, I pray that He says, Well done.

John
¹ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
² The same was in the beginning with God.
³ All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
⁴ In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
⁵ And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
⁶ There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
⁷ The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
⁸ He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
⁹ That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
¹⁰ He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
¹¹ He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
¹² But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
¹³ Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
¹⁴ And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
¹⁵ John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.
¹⁶ And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
¹⁷ For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
¹⁸ No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
¹⁹ And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?
²⁰ And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.
²¹ And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.
²² Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?
²³ He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.
²⁴ And they which were sent were of the Pharisees.
²⁵ And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?
²⁶ John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;
²⁷ He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe’s latchet I am not worthy to unloose.
²⁸ These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.
²⁹ The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
³⁰ This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.
³¹ And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.
³² And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.
³³ And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.
³⁴ And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.
³⁵ Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples;
³⁶ And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!
³⁷ And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.
³⁸ Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou?
³⁹ He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour.
⁴⁰ One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother.
⁴¹ He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.
⁴² And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.
⁴³ The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me.
⁴⁴ Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.
⁴⁵ Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.
⁴⁶ And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.
⁴⁷ Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!
⁴⁸ Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee.
⁴⁹ Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.
⁵⁰ Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these.
⁵¹ And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.
