The psalmist declared, You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples (Psalm 77:14 NIV). Our God is awesome and faithful! Although He loves us, He allows us to experience problems, trauma, addiction, rejection, sickness, depression, etc., as an invitation for His divine presence to come into our lives. It is God’s way of writing Himself into the script of our lives. He undeniably teaches us in the process that we cannot live this life successfully without Him.

God is sovereign, and His mercy and goodness are gifts of His grace to us that reveal His love and power. Everything that Candi Staton has gone through has pointed to the sufficiency of God’s grace in her life. God has ordered her steps in a magnificent way and guided her on an exciting journey of life. Her divine encounters with God’s intervention in her life have even encouraged and strengthened my faith.

Every storm Candi has been through has been like school! Every trial she has endured has been a test. Every experience she has endured has been an education. And every difficulty God helped her navigate has been for her development and God’s glory!

The struggles of life have not weakened her but strengthened her faith in God. Her life is a shining example of the faithfulness of God. It also proves that God will not allow the foolishness of our past to disqualify His using us for His glory.

As I think about Candi’s life, I am reminded of a verse of scripture that says, By day the LORD directs his love, at night his song is with me—a prayer to the God of my life (Psalm 42:8 NIV).
